After wandering around the strange world of Nysa for what seemed to have been quite a while, Jack felt ready to start getting to some real work. He'd been trying to make friends among some of the locals, visiting the odd village or two and helping out how he could while learning more about the world of Nysa. He hadn't been very far north or south yet, sticking mostly to the plains and northernmost jungles, so Jack knew he still had a lot of ground to cover. He'd taken an interest in Nysa's creatures and had run into them on more than a couple of occasions, even having to fight off a pack of Karsraks once.
Recently Jack had been hearing quite a bit about a ferocious creature called the swamp troll. They were supposed to huge and mean, so Jack wanted to see one. Story was, a troll had taken up residence relatively close to a faun village near the edge of the jungle. Some had left their homes, fearing they'd lose their lives if the creature discovered them and decided to go on a rampage. Others had chosen to stay, refusing to abandon their homes.
Before long, the village came into sight and the young man sighed with relief, adjusting the light pack he'd brought with him. But something was wrong. The wall was a simple wooden palisade, crudely constructed compared to what you might find on earth nowadays, but it looked as if it had been sturdy enough. Had been because something very powerful had reduced it to kindling in all but a few places.
Jack let out a low whistle as he surveyed what was left of the village, which wasn't much. Not a single structure had been left standing and the odd mangled corpse could be seen here and there. Satisfied that whatever had caused the damage was long gone, Jack began picking through the destroyed village, looking for clues and any possible survivors.
"Hello? Hello?" The young man called out, first in English before switching to Nysan. "I'm here to help."
She stands at around 5'6 feet/inches tall. She has very light green eyes, with pale skin. She has shoulder-length red hair, which varies in length from time to time, but is currently shoulder-length. Her hair is wavy naturally.

Sung had been sleeping in the village when the troll attacked. She had been in Nysa for months now, looking for things to fight. The beasts on earth were no match for her, and she needed to train to fight the gods. She was hunched behind a tree right outside the village, with a small female child of the village. She had saved her while trying to escape. She would go up against the creature herself, if she was able, but it was far to strong. She suddenly heard a voice speak in English. She slowly got up, the faun girl close behind her. "Over here!" She yelled, still in her human form. She was ready to transform at a moments notice, she would not die today. She continued to walk, seeing the mangled bodies of fauns. She saw the man, he seemed human. "Right here." She said again, hoping he was here to help.
Zacharias had somehow ended up in Nysa, and he was ENTIRELY sure how exactly that had happened. He supposed he had found some sort of portal that had transported him from Earth to this place which was highly unusual. He did not all together mind very much, he really did enjoy exploring and finding strange new places, and at the least he had managed to accidentally come over in his human cloths which meant he had also brought his weapons and clothing. It would have been quite unfortunate indeed to have made the trip in one of his animal forms and ended up stuck in another world with no cloths and none of his weapons.
Zach had spent the next several days traversing through the plains, the forests, and among the mountains in both human and beast forms to explore and hunt. He had found several interesting animals that apparently did not live upon Earth and only lived here. Also, it would seem that humans where not the majority of the sentient beings who lived here. Instead, it seemed that for the most part it was fauns and some plant like beings (he had not seen any Weavers yet in his travels) who lived here. The fauns especially seemed like they where just beginning to build towns and villages, and create some sort of civilization.
Having stashed his stuff in the hollow of some tree, Zacharias decided to go exploring again today. He chose the form of a feline, one of his favorite forms because it was so close to his own true form. Today, the form was that of an earthly mountain lion, also known as a cougar or puma. He was padding along the edge of the forest when he noticed nearby what appeared to be a town. At least, it was the remains of what had apparently been a town. The wall was smashed to pieces, and somebody was shouting. He vaguely recognized that confounded language English, and what was the common greeting from it. Triangular, black tipped ears perking up and twitched like miniature satellite dishes honing in upon a signal they finally settled and the mountain lion began padding along at a decent pace to catch up with the being who was shouting.
The felinoid caught up with the source of the shouts almost as soon as it was responded to by another voice. This one seemed definitely to be feminine in nature, and Zacharias paused to tilt his head and gaze about looking for the owner of that voice as well. He could see the back side of the male who had been shouting, but could not quite make out where the female was. Moving forward several paces, picking his way between the debris of smashed houses and dead fauns and after a few moments noticed the female who had responded. His nose twitched, and his fur shifted along his back and shoulders slightly. This one, this female, was definitely a were-creature. The smell from her was definitive proof of that.
I am a man... No. I am a beast... No. I am both...and I am neither.

Atalina traversed the lush Nysan jungle, taking in the intoxcicating sights and sounds. It had been three years since she was last home but everything felt the same; the moss covered tree bark, the small chattering birds in the canopy, and cool slinking streams.
Ata looked down at her map yet again helplessly lost. She knew she should've asked someone other than the slightly intoxicated faun for directions. With sigh she slumped down and propped up against a massive tree. Shed hit just every area that had matched the faun's description but one; Deaths Burrow, it was know for the large number of silent death that seemed to lurk there.
Never in a millenia would ata every consider into venturing into that thicket of jungle. Folding up her map she took a swig from her catine, when the sounds of voice nearby caught her ears. It was rare running into other travelers in the jungle, so ata made her way towards the sound.

The young man was relieved when someone called out to him. When he'd seen the state of the village, Jack hadn't been terribly optimistic about the idea of survivors. It was nice to know that someone hadn't fallen victim to whatever catastrophe had befallen the village. He began to make his way over to where the voice had come from, nearly tripping over a corpse as he did so. The woman who'd spoken seemed normal enough and she was with a young faun.
Jack observed the two. Neither seemed to be injured, though the young one looked a little frightened. They seemed to have escaped the village just before whatever destruction had descended upon the small village and managed to hide until the danger had left.
"Are you two alright? Do you need food or water?" Jack asked, his brow furrowed with concern as he held a canteen toward the two. The young man glanced around at all the destruction. From what he'd been hearing on his way here, it had most likely been the Swamp Troll. But he didn't want to jump to any conclusions and murder an rare beast for a crime it hadn't committed.
"I was beginning to fear no one had survived this tragedy. Can you tell me what happened here?"

Sung walked towards the man some more. The young faun hid behind her while crying. "Shh. It is ok." Said Sung, looking back up to the man. "We are ok. If you could give her some food and water, thank you." She said while pushing the little faun his way. She sighed as she saw down on near-by rubble. "I was staying the night here when suddenly a Swamp Troll attacked. They tried to fight, flee, and do anything. But they all died. I was able to grab this little girl on my way out, we were lucky to survive. I think it went north." She said, eyeing the man. "You going after it?" She said, transforming into her Red Panda form. She crawled onto the ground and rolled up into a little circle. She was exhausted by the current events, she barely got any sleep last night because the attack.
Zacharias stopped moving, tilting his head this way and that listening to what was going around himself. There was the male and female talking close to him. He could smell them in this form, his whiskers twitching as he also smelled the faun girl the other female had saved. Yet there was one more thing, something coming closer from a different direction that his ears where picking up the soft gentle foot falls from another being. He turned away, having seen the two (and faun) and wanting to explore and see who this other person was. Padding along, he leap up on to a large piece of smashed wall and glanced in the direction the other footsteps where coming from.
Zacharias slowly sat down, watching as yet another female approached from the direction slightly towards the jungle. His long tail swished from side to side behind himself as he watched her, black tip twitching slightly before his feline muscles bunched and he leap from his perch. Landing gracefully upon his feet, he padded across the ground towards the female chlorai. He kept his hair down, not raising it aggressively or defensively as he padded directly up to the female. With a deep purr, he rubbed his cheek against her hand and moved beside her and would stay there following the female as she moved about as if he was some sort of trained wild animal, his piercing blue eyes glancing up at the Atalina occasionally and showing no signs of aggression and yet no signs of fear what so ever either.

Jack looked back over the destruction, his expression solemn. He hadn't made it in time. The beast had arrived and left the village in ruins before he could kill it. But at least not all of the villagers had died in it's assault. If these two had escaped then it was possible that others had as well, not counting the villagers who'd been able and shown the forethought to leave as soon as the creature's presence had been detected nearby.
"Yeah," The young man answered in reply to Sung's question, turning back to her and the girl. "When I heard from some of the villagers who'd moved away that it had taken up lair nearby I decided to make the trek to deal with the thing before anyone got hurt. I mean, I knew the stories about how terrifying and dangerous they can be but I've dealt with worse. Much worse. I'm just sorry I didn't make it in time."
He watched Sung transform. Some sort of shapeshifter. Cool. Jack had suspected something along the supernatural lines, knowing how rare it was to run into someone who wasn't a native of Nysa. The lack of hair and general goatiness had tipped him off. The young man dug out a small bag of dried travel rations and handed them to the small girl along with a canteen full of clean water.
"I'm not familiar with that form. What sort of creature are you?" Jack asked, observing the tired woman become beast. It reminded him of a racoon a little bit but the color was all wrong.

Sung looked up, still in her beast form. "It is called a Red Panda. From earth. It is more closely related to the raccoons than Pandas though. I am a Werebeast, that was blessed with the form of it." She said, thinking of her hatred towards the gods, and how she needs to practice to fight. She suddenly began to enlarge, and became human-like again. "I will help you fight the beast. I need practice." She said, while getting a rubber band from her back pack and putting her hair in a ponytail. She heard of a goddess of life that originated from Nysa..maybe she would be as good as Locustus. Maybe killing this beast to safe her lands would please her. She smiled as she thought of it, a new goddess of life. "So. What now?" She said, deciding to return to her panda form. She loved the look of these beautiful animals, especially the red color- just like her hair.
Zacharias trotted forwards to see what else was going on between the other male and female. His feet padded along, picking a path through debris strewn about the place. The mountain lion stopped several feet from the other two beings, tilting his head from one side to another as he investigated them. His black nose twitched from side to side and whiskers shivered as he scented the air. The two where extremely interesting, but his interest was instantly drawn to the female.
He padded towards the female creature and instantly nuzzled against her, purring deeply and extending his rough tongue to lick her cheek. He then stretched slowly, glancing towards the male and flexing his claws, extending them to burrow through the already torn earth as his back arched and his tail twitched from side to side. Then the cougar slowly stood back up and sat upon his haunches, observing the two intently as they interacted, acting like nothing more then a creature and not revealing himself to them. He wanted to see how they would react to him like this before, and that was even if he decided to reveal his human form or even his true form to either of them.

"Red Panda..." The young man echoed, peering curiously. It was a strange name for an animal that didn't really look anything like the pandas he was familiar with, but that happened sometimes when people named things. It did look more like an orange racoon.
"A werebeast, huh? Well, I'm fairly magically inclined, myself. I don't mind you coming along and I appreciate the help but I can't guarantee your safety, of course. Monster huntin' is dangerous and my healing capabilities don't extend much past basic first aid. So if you get hurt out there that'll be pretty much it," Jack warned, observing her carefully. He didn't want to be responsible for someone who couldn't handle themself. "The way there is perilous, in and of itself. What can you do? Where's your place in a fight?"
A cougar had apparently decided to walk up to them. They weren't, uh, terribly native to Nysa and now that it was smacking him in the face with its presence, Jack figured he should address it. Maybe it was a werebeast friend of hers.
"Friend of yours?" Jack asked, indicating Zach. "Were you also in the village when the creature attacked?" His question directed toward the cougar this time.

She was sitting and listening to the man when suddenly a feline tried to lick her. She quickly tried to scratch it. She began getting larger, and her fur began to disappear. She stood straight up, in her human form. "He is no friend of mine." She stated, looking weirdly at the couger. "Well, I am not a wonderfully fighter, in either form. I am a little better as the beast, although fighting the troll would be hard as a small animal." She said, brushing dirt off her red sweater. She looked at the destroyed village and then back at the couger. "Is it even a magical being?" She said as she wove her hand in front of its face. She sighed as she sat onto the ground, ready to just get this whole deal over with. She waited silently for any replies from the two beings, while the faun kept eating.

"Uh, it's totally magical. From what I know of Nysa's native wildlife, something like an ordinary Earth cougar just wouldn't survive very well here. The competition is too fierce, the predators too deadly. I mean, we're talking about the same environment inhabited by caspariaks, karsraks, and silent deaths" Jack scratched his chin and gave the mountain lion another glance before turning back toward the werebeast. "It's alright if you aren't the greatest of fighters. I was planning on taking on the creature solo, so any help at all is a boost."
The young man took a sip from his canteen and stretched a bit. They really needed to get moving. Who knows what sort of mischief their quarry might get up to if they didn't manage to track it down soon. Another village might end up being annihilated or maybe a brave group of amateur hunters would try their hand at monster slaying and get themselves killed. Time was definitely of the essence.
"We better get moving if we're gonna kill this thing before it hurts anyone else. C'mon. We can get a bit more familiar with each other and come up with a strategy while we walk. Sound good?"
"London bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down. London bridge is falling down, my fair lady." This was the 10th time Helix sung this song since the ride began. She'd listened to a couple kids chant it on Earth, and ever since that song was stuck inside her head. It was the 10th time during her ride, but the 100th time during her stay in Nysa.
"We're almost there," a Faun said to Helix from the driving seat. As a reply, Helix lifted up her left hand and gave a salute. Currently, the Anti-theist was riding a cart through the faun lands. Why she was doing this and what she was doing in Nysa were confidential, but she always told those who asked that she was just sight seeing. Her main attire matched that of the land around her. She wore the same loincloth a faun would wear, and carried with her the same equipment the people of Nysa carried; arrows, a bow, a thin sword, a bag filled with countless items, and a canister full of water. The only possession she had that was not of Nysa origin was a long black suit case filled with something mysterious inside. No one but Helix knew what was in the case, and she would not tell, lest she wanted to end someone's life.
While she stayed in this medieval land, she kept mostly to herself. She made only one friend, a young faun named Satella. Satella was a sweet faun that loved helping anyone in need, but that wasn't the real reason Helix befriended her. The young female had a special gift which allowed her to speak in any language. Not only this, but the faun seemed to have some great control over Kasraks, deadly predators in Nysa, and were using two of them to drive the cart. All of this, coupled with the fire imp Satella had as a partner, made this girl a great help to Helix.
"Did you know that this next town is great for trade?" Satella said. "You might want to try talking to some of the villagers."
"Sure," Helix answered. "We'll sell some of these weapons we collected. But afterwards, it's back to the road."
Satella sighed. "Maybe we can stop and rest one night? I'm tired of sleeping on the grass, Master."
"Fine, one night, then its back on the road."
Satella giddily clapped her fingers together, and it was Helix's turn to sigh.
It took 7 hours to get to the next town, Helix counted, and by the time they arrived Satella suddenly stopped the cart.
"What's wrong?" Helix asked, already drawing her sword. She was always ready for anything to attack them, be it bandits or creatures. Most of the animals didn't attack with two Kasraks pulling the haul, but that never deterred bandits. At first, Satella did not answer Helix's question. She was too busy shaking in fear at something. Not fully understanding the situation, Helix got out of the cart with her weapons and case, and stared at what frightened Satella.
"By the chaos..." Helix said, looking down upon the mangled corpses of fauns and the destruction of houses among the town. "This was a complete massacre."
"Who would do such a thing?!" Satella screamed with anger and anguish. "We must leave Master, we must leave now!"
Helix did want to leave as much as Satella did, but she couldn't. There was something among these corpses that she had to check, and possible valuable items as well. It was good for an adventurer like Helix to explore graveyards like these and loot whatever she could and sell them for big money later. It wasn't the right thing to do and it certainly did not honor the dead, but Helix never cared for the dead, so it was fine by her.
"I'm going in," Helix told Satella before walking into town. "You stay here."

Jack was briefly distracted by noise. Noises that stood apart from the usual Nysan sounds, or at least they did so near the wreck of the village. The implications were worrisome enough that the young man felt he should probably go take a look. Even though he couldn't quite place the sounds, Jack feared it might be the sound of a survivor possibly trapped underneath debris and badly wounded or dangerous predators come to scavenge the remains.
Before stepping out from behind the large debris that obscured his vision, the young man reached up to adjust the mask he wore, mainly to reassure himself that it was still there and that it hadn't become overly displaced while he'd drunk from the canteen straw. Ten didn't take down his shotgun from its concealed position on his back, but he did mentally prepare himself just in case he needed to use it.
Once he came into view of the cart, the young man called out a greeting in Nysan, waving as he warily eyed the seemingly domesticated Karsaks hitched to it. The driver appeared to be a female faun, probably young. There was also a human looking woman walking into what was left of the small town and she was the first one Jack spotted. He assumed they'd been traveling together but was unsure of why they'd come to the town and why they hadn't left immediately once they'd seen what had become of it. Perhaps they were looking for survivors or some clue as to what had occurred. Or maybe they were looters.
Jack halted his approach where the two could see him but with some distance between them, not wishing to seem threatening, and asked "I don't suppose either of you speak english, do you?" Considering one of them seemed human, the young man figured the odds were good they might. Otherwise, he'd have to try out some more of the Nysan he'd managed to pick up but it would be a much easier if they could communicate in the language he spoke best.
The young man leaned on the spear he carried more as a walking stick than a main weapon while he waited for a response, resisting the habit to conjure up a friendly smile, knowing it wouldn't be seen. Jack kept his posture relaxed and nonthreatening, not wishing for a misunderstanding.
