47 Chestnut Path. Aw Shit. She hadn't thought it would come to this. Walking down the road her long black hair was braided away from her face. Her skinny jeans were tight and ended in a pair of black converse sneakers, her white tank top clean, a black leather jacket keeping her warm against the cool Colorado fall night. She dreaded going home, but the more she thought about it the more it needed to be done.
She had decided once and for all that she wasn't going to be without Adrian, or her parents. They would have to deal. It would be an issue mostly for her parents. She had come to terms with herself, in India mostly. She was afraid to admit she had fallen for Adrian, but she did. Her fear was because she didn't want to get hurt. Nobody does. She turned on to Chestnut Path. She pulled out her cell phone and sent Adrian a text.
Almost there.
She had told him she was coming here. She didn't think she'd get into too much trouble on the way to her parents house.
It seemed though she was wrong. Her sixth sense suddenly went berserk. She froze, her eyes widening a bit, before she took a minute to look at her surroundings. She knew this road like the back of her hand. This neighborhood was imprinted in her mind from growing up here. She knew for a fact Chelsey Thompson senior Captain of the pep squad was home visiting her family, from the looks of the beat up Volvo in the drive. Rah.
Chelsey and her had been best friends, they were even in college. One of the people Eva had left behind. Glancing behind her to see and black van (stereotypical I know.) Following slowly behind her. She broke out into a Sprint across the Thompson's yard, her feet pounding up the front steps back around the wooden porch to the back screen, where she burst in to Chelsey in the kitchen making popcorn. Chelsey went to let out a scream, but Eva silenced her with a gust of wind to her mouth, pushing the air she was about to let out with the scream back in. Chelsey gulped and looked at Eva, before tears filled her eyes. Eva looked out the window to see the van had stopped and the doors were open. She jumped forward and grabbed Chelsey's hand yanking her out of the kitchen and to the basement door flinging it open and yanking her down the stairs.
The door shut behind them and Eva moved silently through the darkness, towards the cellardoor. She paused once they reached the steps pushing on the doors, chains rattling on the other side. Chelsey was gasping from breath.
"Eva...what the Fuck is going on?"
Chelsey hissed, her blond hair falling into her face. Eva shushed her before yanking out her cell phone. The light lit up the area, as she quickly typed out a text to Adrian.
goons on the path, below 32
The text was coded yes, but she hoped he would figure it out. Banging sounded upstairs causing Chelsey to gasp. Eva pushed Chelsey behind her and watched the door carefully, building up her energy for the defense if they needed it.
The door opened and light flooded down into the basement. Chelsey squeaked as Eva turned and glared at her. Heavy boots thudded on the stairs. Eva stepped out, yanked Chelsey and tossed her behind a row of car parts. Chelsey ducked down and hid, peeking out to look at Eva. The man reached the bottom of the steps and flicked on the light. Eva let out a puff of air. The man was massive. At least 6 feet tall and close to a very muscled 250 lbs. His bald head was covered with tattoos and Eva almost gave it up there. He turned and spotted her then grinned.
"Weren't heading home were ya little girly....now now we can't have that...."
He lunged forward and reached for her but Eva was ready. With a quick prayer to Locutus to protect Chelsey, Eva unleashed a massive gust of wind, which blew the man backwards away from her and into the concrete wall, cracking the foundation with a dent and a nice crack. She meeped and grabbed Chelsey's hand yanking her out in an attempt to make it up the stairs and out of the house.
That plan was spoiled by the men that stood at the top of the stairs.
"Oh shit."
Both girls said in unison. Eva shoved Chelsey into the basement as one of the men pulled out a gun and shot it towards them. Chelsey screamed and dropped to the floor grabbing her side. Eva ran to her and looked as the blood began to pour out of the wound in her stomach. Eva stood between Chelsey and the men, as they barreled down the stairs, weapons drawn.
Eva, did the only thing she could think of. She prayed.
"Ferox, Dear wolf, forgive me if I take a life, protecting another."
With that said, she gathered her energy and readied her defense.
