Sol winced slightly. His near jump had nearly sent Chaos sprawling into the snow. Luckily, for her and in a way him, she had a firm grip on his shoulder.
Almost as soon as his words were from his mouth her eyes narrowed and she took on a disgusted expression. Sol instantly regretted his decision. She obviously suspected that he was lying, in her mind she probably felt that she knew he was lying.
[glow=red,2,300]"Yes, I remember. I for one, do not enjoy being insulted and having my word questioned. So my dream wasnt the most pleasant dream i have ever had. So what? Whether or not it was bad is up to me."[/glow]
Sol's eyes narrowed. [glow=red,2,300]"You dont want me to hide behind a mask? I would never feel any reason to hide from anyone, especially not someone i consider a friend. If you wish to see the true me the I will show you what I look like when I am not in my human guise."[/glow]
As soon as he was finished speaking, Sol began to change. With that a cry that sounded like a mixture between pleasure, pain, and rage burst from Sol's throat, that could be heard for miles, as his true form came rushing back. Thick horns grew from his forehead, his stature grew from 6"1 to 8"7, the whites of his eyes became red with green feline pupils and no irises. His fingernails turned black and turned into talons, his fleshed thickened and grew spiked in some areas, wings grew from his back, and lastly his flesh turned from ivory to blood red.
[glow=black,1000,300]"Are you satisfied now? Well!? Are you!?"[/glow]
"Is this all!?"The young demon screamed to the heavens"Is this all I am!? Just some toy for them!?"He kicked the ground frustrated"Was i created to give pleasure without ever receiving any of my own?Never! Not once have i.."he sits down, too frustrated to go on.'Shhh, dont worry we can fix your problem.'something whispered inside."Who-"he stopped and began to laugh maniacally - making of a young Sol

Sol started to get real nasty real fast after Chaos had her little rant. He even stood up and then he mentioned something about a human guise. She didn't catch the words because even as he started to say them, he began to change. Chaos felt her eyes widen and her breath caught in her throat.
He let out a cry and Chaos couldn't distinguish what it was a cry of. Whether it be pain, pleasure, or rage, she didn't know. She didn't really care either. She took a step back. She couldn't see his face, he was too tall. He grew two more feet and she felt very small. He had talons, horns, his eyes were more feline than human. His wings expanded in a show of power and his skin was the color of blood. Even his voice was different. He yelled at her, in a voice unlike any she had ever heard before, and asked her if she was satisfied.
"Are you?!" Chaos yelled right back. Her voice was small and weak compared to the booming voice that now belonged to Sol, but her words were just as strong. She glared up at him, still terrified, but trying to show her confidence. She brushed back escaped tears. "Does it make you feel better? Does it make my accusations seem like dirt, as if they're nothing but that; accusations? Knowing that you crush me with one wrong hit? Does it make you feel better?!" Chaos yelled the last part.
Chaos looked down rubbing the back of her neck. She knew provoking a demon- especially in their true form- would probably kill her. Most people died even looking a demon in the face. However, this wasn't just a demon; this was Sol. And she was not going to be talked down to or mocked by her own friend. She didn't care if it killed her or not.

Sol began to condense himself back down into his human form. The truth was that his human form was literally his human form. Sol's human form was literally an ivory-skinned, hornless, 6"1, and wingless version of his true demon form. Other than that his appearance changed not at all.
Once his wings and horns were put away, and he was back down to normal size, Sol's skin went from blood red to ivory. He looked at Chaos and his expression conveyed weariness and shame.
[glow=red,2,300]"No, it doesnt. I have known that i have possessed the power to crush you with the slightest misdirected whim since i first saw you in Paris. Would doing such a thing give me any pleasure? No, it would not."[/glow]
Sol began to look frustrated. [glow=red,2,300]"I would never hurt someone that i care about. I would never hurt you. Even thinking that a thought through my mind, involving anything negative about you, is just insulting."[/glow]

Sol converted back into his human form and Chaos gave a sigh. He looked so ashamed and tired. She walked closer to him, partly to get warmer, but mostly for comfort. She didn't like it when Sol was upset. It made her upset. For other's moods to affect her moods was very rare and she was a little vexed. She pushed the feeling away as Sol started to speak, using his regular voice. He grew very frustrated.
"Well I'm glad I don't have to look at you as a possible enemy. That would've been difficult." Chaos joked a bit. However, Sol's words had gotten to her and she moved closer leaning against him and sighing. "Get me all riled up and then say stuff like this. You really know how to give a girl whiplash. And negative thoughts resulting in insulting feelings, does that apply to everyone you care about or do I get to be special?" Chaos asked in- once again- a jokingly manner. However, this time she was slightly more curious.
Sol was...unique. Usually Chaos had her enemies and her friends. She hated and loathed her enemies and she took care of and loved on her friends. However, Sol just didn't seem to fit in either category. He wasn't an enemy, though he was more powerful than her. Yet, she was More herself around him then she was with her own friends. And the way Sol had described never hurting her, well that hit a soft spot. Chaos did not have soft spots. She couldn't explain why. His effects on her were very strange; very strange indeed.

Sol smiled at her and said in a joking tone. [glow=red,2,300]"Its nice to know that we're not enemies. I mean, I never would have figured out we were friends if you hadnt told me."[/glow]
Sol pretended to think deeply about Chaos' question, as if it was infinately complicated. Truth was, Sol really liked Chaos, alot. He didnt make friends easily, some people could find his personality charming but most found it abrasive. Or at least the more responsible and racist types did.
Apparently there were quite a few people out there who didnt like demons. And why? No reason. A few religious books and scriptures give the entire race a bad reputation. Sol usually didnt have much patience for those types.
He smiled. [glow=red,2,300]"Im just kidding. Honestly, Im fair to all of my friends but I have to admit that you get to be special. Just a little bit."[/glow]

"Yes!" Chaos said jokingly, yet a little out of breath- she must have been tired. She had to admit, the thought of being special was very appealing. Especially since she was never considered special. She looked around. She sighed. "It's getting really late. Maybe we should just go back to the cabin. We can go get the knives tomorrow. They should be back at the base by then anyways. And if they're not we can wait for them." Chaos sighed. She really wanted to go now, but she was just too tired to manage. Plus Sol mentioned something about being hungry. All in all, the odds were against her.
Chaos sighed again, not waiting for an answer, and started heading back the direction they had originally coming from. At least she thought this was where they had been going. She wasn't sure, but she was really just too tired to care. The day was finally starting to come down on her. Along with the last few days too. She just had the sudden urge to just lay down right now and go to sleep. The snow even looked inviting.
Chaos didn't get very far -maybe past thirty trees- before black spots started covering her vision. She put her hand on a nearby tree. Her skin felt overheated and the cold felt nice. She felt nauseous. She leaned more against the tree until it was fully supporting her. She slowly slid down till she reached the base. There she sat in the snow, eyes closed, and breathing softly. This was very comfortable. She reached a hand out without opening her eyes to signal Sol.
"Just give me...a moment...just...a min..." She was already fading away, though she struggled to open her eyes. It's okay, Sol would be fine for just a moment, right?

Sol tilted his head slightly in concern. Chaos was starting to seem really tired all of a sudden. She had been through alot though, so Sol wasnt really surprised. He had known that she would crash, that it was only a matter of time.
Sol on the other hand was fit to last another week or two without sustenence or sleep. While he was hungry, he had absorbed the life essence of several fully grown men, he wouldnt need to eat for another few weeks.
But the problem was with Chaos. She needed sleep and she would need food eventually. Sol would either have to take her back to society or he would have to hunt something. He finally came to the decision that he would have to carry her back to the cabin and get her some food while she slept.
[glow=red,2,300]"Okay. You catch up on your rest."[/glow] he told her even though she was probably unconcious at the time.
Sol bent down and picked Chaos up out of the snow. He quickly brought his wings out and flapped into the air. Once airborn he searched around. Sol remembered the cabin being a little northwest of the eastern entrance of the Hudson Strait, an easy enough body of water to spot.
After an hour or so of searching he finally found the cabin. Sol opened the door and walked inside. After stepping over a few bodies, he set Chaos down on the bed. Afterwards he cleared the corpses from the cabin and reduced them to a pile of ash. Sol yawned and stretched as he prepared to take off in search of food.

Chaos wasn't fully asleep. It was like she was there, but not. Like she was hiding just beneath the surface of awake. Sol said something, but it sounded distorted and garbled. Then the ground beneath her disappeared. Thinking she was falling she swung out her arms as if to catch herself. She wasn't falling she realized and then she was warm. She was lying down. She was covered. It took her a minute to realize she was in a bed. She slipped deeper and deeper into the abyss. She faintly heard a door open.
Chaos's eyes shot open, quickly closing, and she reached for someone that wasn't there. "Sol, I'll....go with you....just...give...me...a..." She stopped speaking for a minute, opting to pull the covers over her head. She was very cold. She curled into a ball. Sol would be fine. Her thoughts were drifting away and before she slipped totally into oblivion she said, "Be careful" though it came out in a breath rather than a whisper. Sol probably didn't even hear her.

Sol heard Chaos tell him to be careful as he closed the cabin door. Sol grinned, he hadnt survived this long as an insane demon without being carefull. Longstory short, Sol knew how to take care of himself. But it was nice having someone wish him well, he had to admit.
Sol took a deep breath, inhaling the crisp nothern air. He set out into the woods, far from the trail untill he found a stream. Sol bent down and examined a set of what appeared to be deer tracks that led to the stream and away. He deduced that they were fresh, given the snowstorm the night before.
Sol set off, following them. He figured that if he moved fast enough he could chase it down and be back to the cabin in no time.

Chaos was back in the woods. The ones from before. That hint of familiarity never ceased to amaze her. She knew these woods. She treaded lightly over leaves and made her way deeper into the forest. At one point she tripped and fell, grabbing a tree branch for support. The thin branch snapped under her force and she went tumbling down onto the ground. She hit her knees hard. That's when the fear started to set in.
Chaos felt eyes on her and slowly turned her head. A figure stood not too far behind her and in their hand....was an athame. She didn't have to look twice. In seconds she was scrambling up and running through the forest. She couldn't hear anything over her own heartbeat, but she knew he was close. She pushed her way through the thick forest and once again, saw a break.
Chaos had just reached the break when a hand was on the back of her neck, touching lightly. She broke through and stopped just in time. Loose rocks crumbled into the deep dark abyss of the ocean. She held her breath. She felt a hand reaching towards her and spun around. A hand was clamped over her eyes and the dangerous knife was barely putting pressure on her throat. She didn't move.
"Ah ah ah, can't reveal the mystery so soon can we. However, maybe we could spill just a few drops of blood." The voice was dark, but soft. Then the pressure on her neck increased. Chaos winced as the knife broke skin and she felt the blood race to the collar of her shirt. A dark laugh and rough shove was all she felt as she stumbled off the cliff.
A ear-piercing scream sliced through the air. Chaos clamped a hand over her mouth. That was a lot more realistic than last time. She felt so much more. She looked around. Sol was nowhere in sight. Hopefully he hadn't heard that. She shifted and winced. She glanced down at her hands and gasped. Faint scrapes. She shoved the bed covers off and wrenched up her pant leg. Bruised knees. This was not good. With shaking hands Chaos pulled the covers up and over her head, laying down she clenched her eyes shut.

Sol had found the deer shortly after he had set out following their trail. There had been five of them, one adult buck, at least one adult doe, and three fawns of varying sizes.
Almost casually, Sol began his approach. Once they were aware of his presence the deer began to flee. They were fast but Sol was faster. He quickly caught the eldest doe and broke its neck. She was about 5 feet tall at the shoulders, plenty of meat so Sol let the others flee.
Sol flew back to the cabin and brought out the small table and searched the cabinets untill he found a large pot and pan, then he took out one of his knives. Using melted snow, he rinsed it off as best he could. To further clean the blade he made a small fire to kill whatever germs and impurities were on it. Once finished with that Sol went to work. When he was finished he placed a few large pieces of meat in the pan and put the rest on the table.
Sol wasnt worried about the extra meat. It would freeze shortly in this weather anyway. He cooked the meat in the pan before he put it in the pot with some melted snow. It was boiling when he heard the scream.
Sol burst into the cabin, firballs in hand. He put them out when he saw Chaos huddled under the covers. Sol walked over to her [glow=red,2,300]"Chaos? Are you all right?"[/glow]

Chaos jumped at the sound of the door slamming open. In came Sol, fireballs blazing in each hand. he spotted her and extinguished them, asking if she was alright. She thought about playing it off, but figured she wouldn't be able to lie through her teeth like that. She wasn't much of a liar anyways. She shook her head with a complex and terrified look on her face.
"Actually, no. I don't think I'm okay." She said sitting up slowly and letting the blanket fall. "My hands are all scratched up and my knees are bruised purple. Like I fell in a forest. But, I was sleeping. I don't really know what to make of it." Chaos said holding up her scratched palms.
She stared at them trying to make sense of it. It was a dream. However, she felt like it was so real. She looked up at Sol warily. "Do you get hurt in your dreams and come out with the injuries? I don't, usually. But lately, my dreams have been very colorful. He almost killed me. Chaos said putting a hand to her throat. She paused. Her blood ran cold. Carefully, she slid her fingers over what seemed to be a cut on her neck. The knife. All the blood drained from her face.

Sol assumed a worried expression on his face. He blamed his self for what had happened to her. Sol had left her defenceless and exhausted, alone, in a cabin in the middle of the Canadian wilderness.
Chaos' story sounded a little strange, Sol had never heard of someone being hurt by a dream before anywhere other than in movies, but he believed her.
Sol shook his head [glow=red,2,300]"I have never heard of something like this happening before. Its never happened to me."[/glow]
It worried him. She was bruised, scraped, and bleeding slightly from a cut on her neck. If the problem was truly a dream then what could he do about it?
Then Chaos brought her hand up to the cut on her neck and she went pale. Apparently it had some significance to her from her dream.
Sol nodded. [glow=red,2,300]"Yes, I think you may be. What can we do against a dream? Nothing that I know of."[/glow]

Chaos wasn't expecting Sol to come up with the answer to her problems. And something like this seemed very rare and unusual. She wasn't fatally injured. She wasn't dead like she should be if she fell off the cliff. Obviously the dream had some limitations.
How do you fight a dream? Chaos came up with nothing. The only thing she could do was stop having them. She would just have to stay awake. She gave Sol a weak smile and wiped the red specks from her fingers onto her pants. She wasn't going to pretend to be unaffected, but she wasn't going to live by her fear either. She stood slowly wincing.
"Nothing for now then. I'll just stay up until I figure out something else." Chaos said and paused. She tilted her head. "Do you smell that? Do you hear that? It's like a sizzling sound." She inquired very curiously. She followed the source of the noise and made an 'ah' sound. "Sol, your pot is boiling over." Chaos stated staring at the pot. That contained food. Her stomach growled.
Post by Solemn Creed on Feb 22, 2012 22:56:02 GMT -5
Sol nodded. There was nothing he could do about it so he would have to let Chaos take care of it on her own and offer her whatever support he could.
Sol looked over at the pot and shrugged. [glow=red,2,300]"Im not quite sure what I can do about it. I can heat things up but i cant unheat them. Oh well. Hungry?"[/glow]
Sol smiled as he asked the question. He already knew the answer of course she was. She hadnt eaten in a while and for even further proof with the expression of hunger on her face she might as well be drooling. It would be just as expressive in conveying her hunger.
Sol yawned and sat down against a wall to take a nap. There wouldnt be much to do for at least a few minutes so he figured he could afford to be lazy.
