"Look, would you like a place to stay for a little bit, even if just for a night?"
Unsure if she trusted the other woman Rae wasn’t sure what choice she had here. On the plus side her Uncle’s debt had been removed (she assumed) by the removal of the Russian’s life. Could she run now? No- not tonight. She had to find Eli, and her backpack, with her worldly possession was still locked away in her Uncle’s care. But a night away, a shower- these things would help her gather herself and recuperate. It might give her chance to come up with a plan on how to escape her Uncle’s grasp this time.
Sat on the edge of the bed she breathed in slowly, but was aware that they needed to leave this room quickly. If she didn’t go with the girl would she be found here and blamed for this? The front desk knew Rae had been here tonight, he’d leered at her, still spotty with teenage youth. If she was recognised…and with her glorious pink hair she wasn’t easy to find if someone really wanted to try.
“Thanks.” She said again, voice soft and still whispered. “I- I’d like that.”

Ciel nodded and collected up her bag, she walked down the back stairs. Whether the followed her or not she kept walking. This girl was a perfect scapegoat, but could she do that? The answer was obvious to Ciel, yes, easily. Ciel had no attachment to this woman, she didn't even understand why she was saving her. She got to the elevator of her hotel. Thankfully she'd bought a few wigs and such that the girl could use until Ciel figured out what to do. She looked around, the girl was a loose end. She could just kill her.
Ren would like that a lot better then a loose end walking around, Thanatos on the other hand not so much. She wasn't troubled with any silly morals, just self preservation. Who was most likely to kill her for what ever happened to this Rachael. She let out a sigh, the only clue to her inner dilema. They got to the penthouse suite and she stepped in using her key. "If you want there is a shower that way." She pointed. She had to find out why that girl was there, she could go from there.

Rae followed.
She had expected them to go out of the building and had to find herself surprised as they headed for the penthouse suit. She was quiet the whole way, watching and lost in her own thoughts. This was not the time for her to go soft; this was the time for her to find her strength once more. Rae was a hunter, her father was a hunter, her father’s father had been a hunter. She was born of blood that knew right from wrong and put down the supernatural creatures of the world who believed they were better than morals. She was not supposed to be so pathetic; she was not supposed to be so useless, brought to a quivering wreck by a man who couldn’t keep it in his pants.
Somewhere deep inside of her she knew this girl to be a supernatural. Perhaps Rae was ignoring that for now. In the same manner in which she ignored that Vrases was a werebeast, she ignored the instinct that this woman could probably be a daemon. It was the only cardinal rule that Rae broke, unlike her forefathers she didn’t just kill supernatural because they have advanced DNA, no, she killed the ones that caused harm to the innocents of the world. She was on a revenge mission for her brother, who had been killed at the sweet age of four years old. For him, she would kill without question.
In the room Rae kept to the centre of the room, pushing the fallen strap of her blue lace dress back onto her shoulder. “Thanks.” She said, glancing to where the girl pointed to the shower room. Rae didn’t have anything with her, no bag, no coat even. She wore delicate sandals and the thin, lacy blue dress.
But she took the instruction now; going through into the bathroom. She undressed and showered quickly, not taking the time to examine herself in the mirror because it would only upset her again. But thankfully, the water gave her a new resolve. The tiny, pink haired, five foot nothing teenager, once showered and dressed once more, looked a lot more altogether than she had so far these evening. While she had to re-don the dress just being clean and without the dark smatterings of make-up on her pale features made her seem stronger in herself.
She came back into the main room, her wet hair tied up on her head in an elastic.

Ciel was already changed into something more appropriate for bed, she had on long silk pants and a tank top. Her own hair tied up though it was now a deep blue black, her blue eyes on the other woman. She smiled and tossed her the pajamas she had in her arms. Ones almost identical to Ciel's but not nearly as dark. "There ya go." She said tilting her head and smiling weakly. "If you want you can change into those... and then I need to have a talk with you." The woman said. She looked at the other sighing, "If you talk with me, I will give you my name... I'll tell you what you want to know in exchange for what I need to know." Ciel could already feel the urge to murder this woman before she learned anything. She walked toward the living room area of the suite. She looked out, "Maybe it would just be easier." She said looking out the window, the words were so quiet it would have been nearly impossible to hear her.
Once more her thoughts went to Ren and Thanatos. She needed to kill. She walked into her bedroom and changes her clothes quickly into something else, her hair and eyes changing once again to that of someone who would go unnoticed. "Get some rest I have something I have to do." She walked out of the room, after tossing a key onto the couch in case the other wanted to get some food or something.
Ciel came back about thirty minutes later, seeming much more calm. She walked into the bathroom without looking anywhere, and washed her hands and face. She'd killed four times in one night now. It made her feel better. She walked out back in her pajamas and started to look for Rachael.

Left alone Rae had changed her clothes, she had donned the pyjamas that her mysterious rescuer had given her to wear and had to tighten them a little. They were black on bottom and a like, pearly pink on top- almost identical to her hair. Soft and silky they felt nice, they reminded Rae of the old days when she had lived in riches and could afford beautiful stuff like this. But Rae knew from Vrases that being an assassin paid well, it started to form in her head the answers to unanswered questions. This wasn’t a mercy kill, this wasn’t revenge this had been a hit and the chances are the other girl was being paid for it.
Rae hand washed her dress in the sink and placed it on the balcony to dry. Then she sat out here, in the darkness of the night she sat alone on the cold floor of the balcony and watched the sparkling city lights. It reminded her of the night on the roof top with Vrases. Why did her mind go back to him so often? She wasn’t sure, but there was a swell in her chest then that suggested she missed him now. Rae felt alone…but before the fear could creep back into place she heard the enterance door click open.
She rose from where she had been in medatiative thoughts and came back into the main room. Time to face the music. The girl would have questions and Rae, well, she would answer them.

Ciel sat back on one the couches, she closed her eyes and sighed, she had to keep her head on for this one and not think about Deimos, Thanatos, or Ren, or what any of them would have her do. She looked at Rei and smiled.
"Well I believe the first question is obvious... what were you doing there?" She asked the question straight forward. Ciel wasn't the type for playing games. "Do you have family that can take you in from here? A place to go?" She asked watching the other girl, "Is there anything that I could do to help you go to where ever it is that you need to go?" She asked the questions and then relaxed waiting for an answer.
Unknown to Rachael, Ciel needed the answers to decide if she was a threat or not. There was one last question on the tip of her tongue, "What are you that you are so used to death? You don't have the feel of an assassin so don't bother with that answer."

"Well I believe the first question is obvious... what were you doing there?"
They got straight into the thick of it, though Rae hadn’t expected anything less. She stood, her hands at her sides, small silver scars on her forearms hidden behind her back as she stood and listened to the question. She listened well and answered carefully and with as much honesty as she could give without doing herself further harm.
“My Uncle owed them a debt that he could not afford to pay with money.” She said, her voice quiet and gentle, beautiful.
"Do you have family that can take you in from here? A place to go?"
“I do not want to return to my Uncle’s, but I will find somewhere to go.” Rae nodded, she would return to London, she presumed, but she had to get Eli back first and collect her things. “I will go there to get my things and my dog, then I will leave again. But no, I do not have any family left.” "Is there anything that I could do to help you go to where ever it is that you need to go?"
“I would not want to ask more of you than you have already done. I will manage.”
"What are you that you are so used to death? You don't have the feel of an assassin so don't bother with that answer."
In the sake of self-preservation, Rae said; “My mother and brother were ripped apart by daemons in front of my eyes.” She murmured, “No death that I have seen after that will ever measure up to what I witnessed. Seeing…seeing something like that changes you.” Rae watched her for a reaction, this one was important. It would tell her if the creature truly was a daemon or if she was something other.
Intrigued would be the word he would use for most of this night. He had followed his new apprentice to watch over her, make sure she stays on the path of balance. She had done well so far. Until recently..
He gathered from what he found out from pieces that she was a weapon for hire, a mercenary killing the scum of this earth. He couldn't go against her for it as he did the same except he wasn't paid for it.
Following his apprentice lead him to this hotel, he waited in the shadows. Collecting what information he could. He found out through listening to other people that a large Russian mafia was here and she was sent to kill the boss. He reached up to tap on his chin. Morrigan sat quietly on his shoulder resting for the night. Looking over at her he reached up and stroked her breast feathers gently before laying his arms next to his sides.
He waited and saw a woman exit. Her basic form was similar to Ciel's. Following her slowly he watched as she murdered a innocent man. This killing wasn't for balance, it was in cold blood. He stayed in the shadows following her. As she went back to the hotel room he changed into that of a human man wearing a black suit. Wrapping the scythe in the cloths he got into a crowd and followed it into the hotel. Making his way to the elevator he got in one. Closing the doors he pushed for the penthouse suite, knowing if she was any where in this hotel it would be there.
He quietly stood perfectly in place and thought of what he would do to her for killing out of balance. If she was any one else he would simply end her on the spot.. But he swore to try and change her he couldn't give up that easily. As the elevator stopped and the doors opened he stepped out of it and up to the penthouse suite doors. Changing back to his true form he put on the cloths and reached out to knock on the doors. He knew she was in there.

Ciel nodded at each of her answers until she got to the last one. Ciel looked down, she knew what daemon's were capable of. That was when it clicked in her mind that she should act like the girl was crazy. It was a split second to late so she didn't bother with the charade. "Heh... just met up with one myself rather recently... scary creatures aren't they?" She asked before hearing the knock on the door, who the.... her thought trailed off, "Wait here I'll be right back." Ciel got up and walked over to the door opening it up and seeing who was at it, the next words rolled off her tongue, "Gods damned it." She looked back to where Rae sat.
"Sir... I have a guest... I'm not sure it would be good for you to be here... like that." She said biting her lip. She'd prayed so hard that he wasn't around but of course he was. 'Thanks again gods.' she said in her head. She rolled her eyes.

Her reaction was golden, it told Rae a lot and the girl saw the gentle movements of her face as she looked down in thought. There was a moment of silence between the two girls who seemed to be scaring something of an experience. Finally, when the other voiced a shared opinion with Rae the pink haired teenager smiled, shyly and nodded her agreement. “Yeah, scary.”
The door knocked and Rae let the girl rise to get it, her eyes watching from where she stood. For a moment she hesitated and then she sat down on the corner of the couch, uncomfortable, straight backed, but keeping her guard around her. There was nothing to suggest that the girl would not simply try to kill her too. But, at least she wasn’t a daemon. That gave Rae hope, enough. She could kill most of the creatures in ‘The Casefile’, daemons were the ones that frightened her.
Her eyes went to the door and Rae blinked, wetting her lips. The reaper she knew, from her life before her escape, before Iceland and before her isolation. Was he here for her? For the other girl? She was not sure and the interaction between the two of them did not help her work this out. But she found she could not remain in her seat, rising once more, she ran her fingers through her hair, waiting.
She opened the door, her expression was that what he expected. When she spoke of the guest he looked over and instantly recognized the pink haired woman. It had been a while since he had saw her in the park of new York. Looking back at Ciel he spoke. "The only reason you are not dead is because I swore I would turn you to balance. You killed a innocent man! For what Ciel!? We talked about this!"
Shaking his head he looked over at Rae and spoke in a lower tone. "I am sorry about this. It is nice to see you are well, it has been a while."
Stepping into the suit he closed the doors behind him and turned to the girl. Raising his scythe he held it pointed towards her neck. Staring into her eyes he lowered the scythe and shook his head slowly. He gently nudged Morrigan, she took off into flight towards Rae to land and rest. Turning the scythe around he quickly shoved the butt of the scythe towards the woman's abdomen.

Ciel looked very confused for a moment as he just started talking, did he know the meaning of shutting his mouth. She growled as he yelled at her and then decided it was not a good idea and stopped. She listened to his accusations kept another growl down, just barely. She watched as he turned to Rachael. She sighed, if he was sorry he wouldn't be barging his way into her suite and yelling. She was happy she had the top floor and no neighbors. She wanted so badly to slam the door in his face, but he'd stepped in... well that and she knew better.
She stopped for a moment as he raised his scythe to her, wait... where were these emotions coming from, why did she always get those stupid, annoying emotions when he was around, anger this time. This was what anger felt like. She didn't like it any better then she liked fear. Her lack of attention made her miss her chance to dodge out of the way. She took the butt of his scythe to her abdomen. She coughs and falls down on her bottom, in another moment she does a tumble and lands back on her feet. She couldn't get her mind off of her feelings. She glared at him, "I had too. You know I would not have if I didn't have too!" She yelled back at him, she was still trying to catch her breath from the shock and pain behind that thrust.

The bird came and landed beside her and Rae reached out with gentle fingers torwards the feathers. They had met before and the last time she had seen the creature it had perched itself on Rae’s shoulder as she listened and learned to all that Thanantos had to tell her. Then she had helped him, acted as bait for his hunt to ensure that his target did not escape. That…that night felt life time’s ago, perhaps a better time in her life…perhaps a worse. She was not sure. But all of this seemed to distract from the killings and Rae’s feeling of inferiority.
“Hang on.” Rae said, speaking finally. “You know each other?” She asked, frowning a little bit. She didn’t believe in coincidence, this was happening for a reason. There was a reason it had been the girl sent to kill the Russian, there was a reason that she was here now, staring between the girl and a reaper with whole had shared such invaluable knowledge to Rae. The reason she did not know but it made her head spin a little and she felt a little sick.

Like the calm before the storm, there was an air that preceded what came next. It was far from peaceful, however; though for one it might have been familiar. It was a cold, suffocating wave of pure dread. It was that feeling you got not when a spider crawled onto your arm unnoticed? But that feeling you got when you saw that thing that scared you coming and could do nothing to avoid it.
In the next moment a voice rang out from the recently vacated balcony. The voice was a contradiction of itself. It was both charming and sweet, but also contained an undertone of cold steel. "I don't believe that was entirely necessary." The sentence was left without any explanation to it, nor was there any attempt to specify who it was addressed to.
If anyone turned to look, their eyes would fall upon a figure dressed entirely in black from her heavy boots to the dark hood she bore. Almost in a cliche nature, her cloak swirled about her feet in the faint breeze as she sat leaned up against the railing. Held within her right hand was what was clearly a... longbow? One of the massive weapon's limbs rested against the ground while the other seemed to hover slightly above the bent figure's head. If one had to make a guess, the weapon was easily seven feet in length.
The figure idly let her left leg swing up and down as she sat there waiting for a break in the action. With her hood drawn up it was hard to know just whom she was staring at.
"I had too. You know I would not have if I didn't have too!"
"I told you to come to me, to get a hold of me. I am breaking every single one of my rules for you Ciel." Using his scythe as a walking stick he looked over at Rae as she spoke.
"What's going on here?"
He heard her speaking before but wasn't paying attention. "Ciel is under my guidance to restore balance." At that moment the voice from the balcony. Looking over he questioned who would of gotten up here and on the balcony. Knowing it was no one human he spoke out to them. "It is better then what would of happened to her a while ago or will if she doesn't learn quickly."
The air was filled with a quiet requiem of death. He went silent quickly as he listened. The tale of his death in a war was sung in the language of the dead. "Your bow.. It sings the requiems of the dead.. Where did you get such a weapon?" Walking over slowly, stopping a good distance from her.
