Adam smiles politely as he bows his head with his eyes closed, he lifts his drink momentarily before looking back up at her with a soft smile. "I truly am sorry.. I know I pried... yet with such information first given in short bursts and slight hints or insinuations... a mind wanders... I would much rather express my concern and if any words help... so be it... but I am also happy when I am dead wrong and thus corrected... that way I do not worry and my mind does not wander."
He takes another drink. "I would rather know I am wrong than to think I am right and not try to help with what ever I have to offer...." He takes one more sip. "Also who cares if it's a she..." he shrugs. "Love is love..." He downs the rest of his drink and seems talkative yet not at all phased by the drinks he is pounding down. He seems to smile brighter again as he looks at her. "I guess I am just passionate about those wronged for no reason...."

Rennia kept nursing at her drink as Adam talked. On the other hand, Kristen had already finished her second one, but had yet to show any signs towards being drunk. Indeed Adam might start to get the feeling that he had sat down with a pair that could potentially be heavyweight drinkers if they so desired to be. Kristen had still neglected to pick her phone back up since the topic had shifted, and it was probably very clear by now that she was very familiar with Rennia's situation.
After Adam finished, Rennia would set her glass down on the table before speaking. "One often insinuates on topics they don't care to discuss. My personal relationship really is of no concern to anyone else. Especially not to someone I've known for two weeks and a day, no offense. Secondly, you're very much correct, love is love, regardless of gender. It is not the package a gift comes in that matters, but what is inside, yes? Granted she was a looker. And lastly, Mister Helviath, a word of caution. You would do well to be careful about your passions. They can lead you to places that are very difficult to escape from, and may end up doing more harm than good. As the saying goes: The road to ruin is paved with good intentions."
She leaned back again after she finished speaking and picked up her glass for another pull. By now she was possibly down to a third of her drink. When the next round came up, she would allow hers to be taken and refilled for the second and likely final time. If she ran out again, she would find something else to order that was non-alcoholic.

Adam nods slowly as he listens to the deamoness, fully aware that he was 'in the wrong' if anything yet she told him what he needed to know for now. "I know all too well the path of ruin." he muses as he orders more, the speed of his drinking is borderline alcoholic in nature. "I once again am sorry for prodding... like I said, I'm a curious individual....." he lets go of his glass that he's been holding for the better half of this conversation. "...and when most people you meet only seem to be around you for a day or two... you get in the swing of going fast... many people have last wishes...." He goes into his jacket as he starts to fiddle around with a zipper and then some buttons.
A small leather-bound book seems very out of place in the man's possession due to his modern attire. This book seems like it's seen a few decades to say the least as he sets it carefully on the table. "and I mean a lot of wishes...." he opens it up and flips to the back, there seem to be pictures and diagrams of weapons and creatures as he flips through, he eventually comes to a few pages that seem to be just a list of names and sometimes sentences. He slides over the book to the two women and many of the words are crossed out already. Some are just names, if they recognized any of them is another story, and some had names with phrases next to them. Many of the phrases were desires for revenge against insert name here or please tell so and so I love them.
He smiles brightly at the two before he looks away, he is honestly hoping the two do not recognize any of the names in the large list. "...But as I said... I truly am sorry...." He looks back at them with a very serious tone and expression. If the two found a name they recognized then they might wonder what he is in fact apologizing for but if they found no-one then it is simply an apology for his behavior.

The fiendling stared at her glass idly as she listened. "Move too fast and you'll miss things. Attention to detail, the little things. You'll miss the smell of the roses, the feel of the breeze in your hair. Damned if I didn't know better, but you seem to believe yourself to be the world's savior."
Rennia gave a wry smile before looking down at the book he placed on the table. She was not unfamiliar with the style of book or it's contents. Those red eyes passively scanned the open page. If she recognized any of the names, she'd give no hint at it, merely taking them in with an almost emotionless expression about her. The truth was that she likely did recognize a name or two, depending on the number of people listed there. Between her age and her job she knew a lot of supernaturals. "Last wishes are a luxury. Death is an inevitability. Why should people be granted the privilege of getting some wish before their terminal end comes sooner than age would have dictated otherwise? And what of those who die to accidents? Where are their last wishes?"
She trailed off as she brought her glass up for another slow pull. Afterward she'd lower it back down to the table. "Sorry for what? What is there to be sorry about? Life is life. You get used to it." She turned her gaze to Kristen who was idly looking at the book herself. She likely didn't know any of the names, being as she tried to avoid that side of the world, even if she was well aware of it.

Adam's grin grows after he lets her finish. "Balance.... I am not it's savior... it does not need saving... but it could use some balance...." he seems to remain quiet for a moment before he responds. "The small details can be taken in and processed after the fact if they are still around... yet when they are swept up from you before you have a chance to process it... that's when there is regret... but I digress..."
he pauses before he looks up once more. "I don't take every last request... if I did, I would have fucked myself a million times by now... I take the sincere and the justified.... the ones that even out or balance different actions...." He reaches for his book back when they are finished as he puts it back.
Adam seems entertained if not simply enjoying the banter. The different views and discussion without shouting or cussing is a pleasant evening in his book. Finally after a few minutes he seems to be bothered as he possibly stops mid sentence and asks. "So how'd you get to working with the duchess
..." he looks at Rennia and smiles. "Don't know but that name feels like it fits..." His mischievous grin is broken by the tip of his tongue as he looks at the deamoness with a chuckle.

Rennia chuckled at his reply, and thought for a moment about replying before simply taking another pull of her drink. He was perfectly young and entitled to believe what he wanted to believe. She would let him have those beliefs for now. She didn't need to be the one that would change his world. He could find that on his own quite well enough. She felt he would soon enough anyway.
"Duchess?" Kristen raised her brows before looking over at Rennia. She gave a soft laugh and looked back at Adam. "You mean wolf? Her and I go way back. My old man used to own the shop. Most of that stuff in there was his. Used to build and tune race cars whenever they'd have them going down at the track. Anything from a small time hobby car to a big time Top fuel Dragster. He had a whole team working with him. Somewhere in the nineties, she showed up and offered to work for him. Even back then she knew a ton about cars. Almost more than the old man. He got married and I was born... She knew my father before my own mother did, so naturally... She practically became my god mother... "
Kristen trailed off after that, though after a few moments she would mutter under her breath, barely audible to even Rennia next to her. "Might as well have been my real mother..." Rennia of course would shoot her gaze over at Kristen when she heard that, furrowing her brows. Rennia wasn't known to be warm and caring, but that didn't mean she was overly thrilled when people she knew closely were upset. She however knew better than to make a scene of it in public, and thus went back to taking a pull of her drink and gazing over at Adam.

Adam nods is an almost understanding manner. "I was raised by my mum while my father slept all day and went out at night... or even days at a time.... My seemingly 'Father-figure' was my uncle. " He chuckles as he shakes his head. "One day...." Adam trails off to explain an event with his uncle and mother that involved a clown, a mime, a herd of cows, and the mafia. He says it with pizzazz and amusement, dramatizing it to make Kristen laugh and forget, or at least move past, the feeling he caused her from his question.
Adam laughs as he finishes the story. "..And that's how I got this jacket..." His smile is warm and charismatic yet something still resides in his own story. He does his best to mask it and maybe Kristen will not notice but Rennia might get the sense that mention of his uncle alters his behavior in the slightest. "Oh...." he calms down from his laugh. "I do miss my family.... They were a hoot...."

Both Kristen and Rennia listened to his tale with raised brows. They really had no idea what to say to that. When he finished they both gave a smile. Rennia gazed down at her glass, noting that it was now empty. Kristen had already finished her third round and would be up for a fourth, still not showing the effects herself.
"C'est la vie." Rennia simply stated as she leaned over to the side against the wall. "When her father passed away he left the shop to her. Kinda amusing that you called her my assistant. I should have been hers but...."
"But I didn't think it was right, so I gave it to her." Kristen interjected.
Rennia chuckled and gave a shrug at Kristen's statement. "So that's the story. Most of the crew moved on for one reason or another. There's still a full staff, but mostly on demand these days. On a good day we can have a good five six cars going, turn em out in a week or two from start to finish. But this is just a part time gig for me. She's the manager, she runs the join I own it. "

Adam has the worried expression on his lips yet his eyes seem like someone just opened his lunchable, ate it all, shat it back in the container, sealed it back up, and handed it to him. "ugh.... I'm gonna stop talking and just....*sigh* Fuck me...." he covers his face slightly as he waves to the bartender. He orders a Row of six double-shot whiskeys, still holding his face in his hand as he then leans back. "So....This is my first outing in a while and the longest I've known anyone..... How's life going for you two?"
He waits patiently for their answers yet when the shots come he thanks the bartender nicely and then proceeds to down all six of them one right after another and a few of the other bar patrons can't help but stare at the speed and lack of jolt he has to it. He seems a little tipsy but no where near drunk, it would seem he finally got a buzz.
Surprisingly he listens for a very long time without interrupting or speaking at all, simple nods and smiles to show he's hearing them but other than than, unless asked questions, nothing.

Rennia smirked. While it was from amusement, it wasn't like her previous ones. A soft chuckle came out as she rested her head against the wall. "Oh no, please continue. It's been a while since Kristen and I got to marvel out of a man making a complete and total fool out of himself. Do please go on." As the next round came by, Rennia ordered a Mountain Dew. When it came she would begin more actively drinking it than she had the liquor. Thankfully it came with a straw and she was able to leave it resting on the table as she sucked it down and listened to him at the same time.
"Life is life. It goes, usually. Pretty sure when it stops it means you're dead." She gave a shrug to the simple answer. She of course had no desire to discuss what she actually did. The last thing that she needed to deal with was some hunter getting on her case for killing humans. Kristen laughed at Rennia's reply and gave her own shrug. "Business has been slow ever since they downsized the tracks up here, but we still get a good few cars in pretty often. There's that Chevelle in there, but that's owned by a friend. It's a project we're doing in our spare time."
"Well I should hope. He's having too much fun with his Z28 right now. Thing's a wrecker at the track. Did you see how it roasted that ZR1? Fucking didn't stand a chance...." Rennia shook her head, thinking about the quarter mile drag between the redone '69 Z28 Camaro and the stock ZR1 that some young punk thought would contend. With zero to sixty in three seconds, it was still an impressive car, but the amount of torque and Horsepower coming of the Z28 allowed it to do the same in 2.6... It wasn't even close.

Adam nods as he listens, not understand anything really except faster car beat the other fast car, Idle talk is not his forte at all. Adam is used to killing and drinking, maybe running and sleeping from time to time but mainly those two. He seems like he is done talking and just enjoys the conversation the two of them are having.
He leans back with one arm behind the chair and the other on the table as he starts to scan the bar. He eventually zones out his sight so he can focus on listening. His head is held high and he seems slightly stoic in his posture. If anything this keeping his mouth shut might be his most attractive state as of late. He tunes in to a short conversation of the table next to him. His thought trails back to his past, nothing special just recollection of events in time.
Adam's buzz starts to vanish as he sits there but he doesn't care, he is simply enjoying being in the company of people not not feeling like his life is in danger. This is a new feeling and he would take this over anything. Safety is a rare feeling for him and he is loving it.

Rennia's eyes wandered over to Adam as he went silent. "So how about you stop asking about us, and tell us about you... or something. Like for starters, what the hell you were thinking trying to challenge a Stingray in that. And why of all things you wanted me to pull over and why you even picked my car. Not to mention why you'd pay a ridiculous some of money to someone you just met... and speaking of money.... " She looked over at Kristen.
Kristen seemed to have been waiting for Adam's response and suddenly snapped to attention. "Oh. Right." She began tapping on her phone again. After a moment she nodded. "They all cleared. Everything checks out."
Rennia nodded in reply to that. Afterward she dug into her pocket and pulled out a familiar sight to Adam. She carefully set the object down on the table and slid it over towards him. "I believe this belongs to you."
She leaned back again in her seat, picking up the glass and sipping away at her mountain dew. Suddenly the door of the establishment swung open and four guys came into the bar. One appeared to be a middle aged man who was not fat, but above average weight in build. The other three were all skinny punks who honestly would have been in their early twenties at most. Each one of the men had cheap ski masks on and each one a weapon in hand. Rennia's eyes hadn't even made it to the door when the familiar sound of a shotgun being pumped hit her ears. These punks were clearly not here for her as one turned towards the counter. Clearly these people were trying to rob the establishment. Though that plan was about to go pretty far south.
Rennia's reaction was instantaneous. If Adam had any doubt about the daemoness's silenced weapon before, it would likely have been put to rest in that same instant. She pulled the pistol out of it's holster in less time than it took for one of the armed assailants to get off the classic "Everyone get down on the ground." The silencer hovered in front of Kristen's face as the firearm went off. Two rounds were fired in the initial burst, slamming into the right shoulder of the first individual. Then a third round went off, nailing the second in the left shoulder before a fourth round clipped him in the right knee.
The other two were just beginning to react to the hail of bullets when she turned her gun on to them. If Adam didn't react in time she would continue down the line. She'd drop a fifth and sixth round into the knees of the third assailant before pulling her gun up to drop the last two remaining rounds into the man's chest, killing the last one if Adam didn't.
If he did react, she'd save the remaining bullets for use as needed when she got out of her seat and went towards the would-be invaders. During the entire time, Kristen seemed completely mellow, not even startled as a silenced .45 had gone off only inches from her face. The rest of the crowd however, had entered a mild form of panic. No one scream or ran, or hid under tables, but they did hunker down, not wanting to be sprayed by bullets.

Adam was about to answer as the men entered, without hesitation he had his gun out and let one fly toward the seeming leader's forehead, letting the spray coat the other two's faces as rennia put holes in their shoulders and knees. Without a care in the world he put his gun back as rennia got up, he turned his gaze to kristen and smiled as if nothing just happened. "I'm very happy to have this back..." He picks up the necklace as rennia most likely finishes off the two men left alive. "My mother gave me this before she died...." he proceeds to open it as he holds it out to kristen. The picture has a man that looks almost exactly like Adam as well as a young woman and a toddler.
Once Rennia gets back in her seat he will continue, again as if nothing went done, "I saw you, you were fast... I needed something fast... and I figured it wouldn't hurt to try... also you seemed trust worthy..." He shrugs. "I just felt it in your eyes...." His attitude had shifted after the kill. He seemed observant and less spastic with his emotions. As if the shot calmed him down.

Rennia frowned after the shooting stopped. She was forced to empty her magazine as two rounds had been wasted as the older man was dropped from the hole in his head. She stopped just after she'd gotten up from her seat and pulled the magazine out, putting it into one of her many pockets and drawing out a fresh one before dropping the slide forward. "Need to learn a bit more about thinking on the fly there kid."
She stepped over to the mess and shook her head. While it was generally frowned upon to shoot to wound, Rennia learned long ago that it had a host of advantages over straight out killing. The fifty percent mortality rate left a bad taste in her mouth. Thankfully the remaining two were too far into shock to realize what it was they saw, saving her from having to kill them. She gave a glance over to the bar keep, who picked up the phone and made the call. Joy. A conversation with the police was just what she wanted...
She sighed and walked back over to the pair in their seats and leaned up against the nearest tall object.
Kristen meanwhile had been eying the pile on the floor, seeming oblivious to Adam as he talked until he finished. "I'm sure she wanted something for you to remember her by." When Rennia returned, she'd gaze up at the other woman, giving her that sympathetic smile as she was pretty sure she knew what was going through the daemoness's mind.
Rennia perked a brow as he continued. "Couldn't hurt to try? You damn near blew your gaskets, and just as nearly threw a rod. Thankfully your transmission held together, despite not being designed to go that fast. It hurt a lot. Also, I advise you to reconsider trusting me. It's a mistake that could get you in the worst possible places." She stopped and looked down to Kristen with a sigh. "I need my cloak... and I can't really leave after.... Yeah. So uh, could you go grab it out of the car?" Kristen nodded before getting up and carefully making her way out of the bar.

Adam slams his hands on the table as he stands up, once in the bluest of moons he has gotten fed up. He quickly pulls a black cigarette out of his jacket and a pure silver lighter, he lights it as he starts to walk up to the dead body, searching him for a wallet as the smell of cloves and Cinnamon fill the area. Even as the bartender tells him that there is no smoking he just goes till he finds the wallet, and takes it outside. At this point Adam starts to wonder why he's trying.
He is tired and upset with himself that he got this annoyed. He turns the corner out of the door and goes around to the side of the building away from sight. Adam's not too far along since he just turned the corner and leaned up against it. If there is an issue he will shoot the cop's tires and high tail it out of there. He forgot why he was alone, people just looked down on him and it pissed him off. Regardless he started to brood when he walked out of the door, plot when he got to the corner, yet he started to relax slightly the more he smoked the clove and started to think clearly again.
