Adrian stared at her as he blathered, making a slight fool of herself. He did not mind that much though. In his mind, it was adorable. She was acting so cute and now blushing at her own words. It was all he could do from stepping forward and kissing her lips lightly. He didn't though, and simply nodded to her.
"No, I have nobody. It is hard to have somebody when you are nobody. So I would love a hot meal, and a nice room. However, you do not have to do this in payment back. I did not do it for entirely for you. I enjoyed it as well. Do you think I became a hit man simply for the money?" He eyed her closely, gauging her reaction to this probably startling and very disturbing news. He was a killer, and he did it because he enjoyed it. A lot.
He extended his hand upwards, drawing his tongue slowly along one finger and then reach out to her. He slowly pressed the wet finger against her cheek and rubbed the blood from it, before moving down and wiping the slowly congealing life essence from the rest of her flesh slowly and with purpose. He finished and drew his hand back slowly.
"If your offer is still open, though, I would love to eat with you. But I might simply rent a room next to you. It might be easier that way. Though it won't be as safe." He paused, contemplating his options and sighed.
"Maybe not. I will just sleep on a chair in your room. Then if anybody attempts to harm you, I will still be there to intervene. Does this sound to your liking?"

She looked at him as he nodded. Oh sweet grass seeds, she was an absolute moron. She mentally face palmed to hard she winced as he spoke. Wait. He enjoyed it. The expression shifted almost comically across her face before settling on indifference, as she thought He kills people for fun. He enjoys it. Like I enjoy puppies. I don't kill puppies. I couldn't kill a thing. I do enjoy them though. Some people are really bad. They deserve it I guess.
She bit her lip and look up at him.
"Not children or puppies I hope."
She glared at him at that, with a glare that said 'you better lie to me if you do.'
She froze, her whole body locking up as he rubbed blood off her, in a way which should have creeped her out but felt far more sensual then it probably should have. She but down on her lip as she stood still letting him continue his task.
"They make these rooms called doubles, they come with two beds."
She said breathily, as he finished, pulling the jacket around her as if to shrink inside it and beat her mind out of the gutter with a large stick.
He raised an eyebrow at her question and simply by past it. He nodded at her words of a room with two beds. He wasn't going to sleep no matter what happened. She needed him to stay awake to keep her safe. He smiled and reached out, brushing a lip across her lips slowly, before walking past her and down the stairway. He pushed the door open and waited for her to walk out.
"So, where would you like to go eat, Evangeline? Italian food, french, mexican? Anything you want." He smiled, waiting for her to respond. As she walked past him, he put his hand in the small of her back and lead her down the sidewalk, his eyes flitting from side to side, checking dark alleys for inconsistent shadows.

She was all to aware of how close he was to her. She has was mentally scolding herself for it. She was not some bimbo college girl who oogled at every piece of eye candy that went past her. She was a grown woman damn it. An independent woman. There was no way she was going to go soft in the knees and swoon at the first male who remotely shows her attention.
That was her thinking, until her body kicked into overdrive as his lips brushed against hers in a quick pass, her eyes widened and having the sudden urge to punch herself in the uterus to keep her mind from picturing him without clothes...
She rubbed her temples as she pushed the image away, irritating herself and forcing herself to refocus. She spun and walked to him.
"Chinese."
She said simply. She swore lengthy swears in her head at herself, some terms would make a sailor blush. Her mind how ever blanked once again as his hand went to her lower back. She paused once they get outside.
"Wait, I don't have my bike, it's hidden in the woods."
She said motioning towards the dark woods, which didnt frighten her at all.
He looked around, staring into the woods. He shook his head slowly and sighed.
"I don't think it would be the best idea for you to retrieve the bike. Besides, if you are wanting Chinese food it is only down the road a block or two. We can walk there if you want, or I can flag a cab down. Which ever you want." He smiled and pushed a strand of hair from her face that the wind had blown there. He smiled and looked around, eyeing a shadow deep in an alley that seemed to move slightly. He reached down and grabbed her hand. He skipped the cab option and simply lead her down the road.
He slowed after they round corner onto the next block. He reached up and shifted his hat slightly so that it was situated comfortably again. He slipped his arm through hers, hooking it and smiling as if they where a normal couple just strolling down the road. After a second, he reached up and slipped his hat off and settled it upon Eva's head, tucking her hair up underneath it.

She looked back to him from the woods, when a tug started in the back of her mind. She turned and looked as he spoke her eyes darting around. Her sixth sense was tingling. She walked with him, wondering if he could sense it too. All visualizations left her mind as his arm entwined with his and she looked up at him figuring out what he was doing, she leaned against him a bit, playing the part, before that hat she longed to knock off his head was placed on hers. She felt his hand as he tucked her hair up, her own hand moving to tuck a piece of hair up, her dark green talon tattoo flashing on her wrist as her sixth sense kicked into high gear. She pulled his arm around her shoulder, her arm around his waist, molding her body against his as she concentrated her power, if an attack was needed.
He smiled as she put his arm around her should, and blushed slightly even as she put her arm around his waist. He had never had this with any other woman It was always really quick, and usually involved one or both of them being rather intoxicated. This was something...different.
He looked down at her, smiling. The smile vanished when he saw her tensed, ready to call upon her wind power if the need be. He stroked her bicep softly to get her attention and leaned in, whispering in her ear like any lover would do. But the words where not quite so romantic.
"Relax Evangeline. I won't let anybody harm you. After all, that IS why I am here. To protect you. Just relax, and try to enjoy yourself. I am quite accustomed to danger lurking around every bend during my hits. I might not have the power to sense that danger, but I definitely can still usually tell when it is present and where." He stopped talking and nodded towards a man who was walking along the other side of the street. The man was tall and lean, but looked normal enough.
"That guy. See him? With the cane? He is carrying a sword in that cane, and two pistols in his jacket, and knife in his boot. In his right hand left pocket is your wanted poster. In here please." He turned and opened the door for her, leading into the chinese restaurant. He scoped the place quickly, locating the exits and eyeing the people. Nobody here was packing, and none of them even second glanced Eva. They didn't know she was want.

She blushed as he rubbed her bicep, listening to him as he whispered something to him, she smiled keeping up the act as she listened closely. She looked up to him as he motioned to the male. Ah, the culprit of her spidey sense tingling. She smiled and snuck a glance, like she had just looked about the street, before resting her head against him. She smiled as he opened the door and she slithered out from under his arm, her hand trailing down it as she loosened her energy and looked around, no one seemed to notice her, but she pulled the hat down a little, now fully surrounded by his scent. The woman seated them and she pulled his coat off placing it on the back of her chair, before pulling the hat back off, noticing the man was looking in the window, with her back to the man at the window he couldn't see her face, she playfully pulled Adrian to her, placing the hat on his head and pulling him into a pretty convincing kiss. After a moment or two of the kiss she broke it, breathlessly peeking over her shoulder to see the man had moved on. She let out a sigh of relief.
Gheist gently pushed the seat in behind her, scooting her up to the table. When she kissed him, heat bloomed across his face. Sure, he had kissed many girls. But that was the point. HE had kissed them. Not them he. He blinked as she broke the contact, and sat down with a bit heavily in his seat, looking daze. The waitress came up to him, and asked if they wanted anything to drink. He thought for a second, then leaned close to her.
"What kind of wine do you like, Eva? After all, we should make this look realistic, right?" He almost sounded hopeful. No, he wasn't trying to get her drunk. If he had been, it would have been something a lot harder then wine. Like whiskey, or margaritas. He waited for her response, and the waitress gazed at her as well. His feet keep jiggling under the table and he quickly crossed them to still their motion. Odd, how he suddenly wanted to reach out and grasp her hand again. He refrained, and simply held his hands in his lap.

She smiled brightly before she realized what she had done. She covered her mouth and stared at him wide eyed. She had been so caught up in playing the part she just kept it up, she hadn't been shy at all, which wasn't her. She never kissed anyone, granted she had been kissed before. She shook her head minutely, pushing the thoughts far back, but mostly how much she wanted to do it again. She smiled lightly, a bright blush in her cheeks.
"Anything red."
She said sweetly looking to the waitress. She watched the waitresses eyes scan over Adrian, her own narrowing in an odd feeling of protest. She then looked at the waitress who stared at her shirt. She looked down and gasped.
"I had a bloody nose."
She said simply with a smile before looking at Adrian, reaching for her bag. Standing she put it on her shoulder. Since they were still keeping the act up....
"I'll just go clean up a bit. Order for me."
She leaned down and kissed him on the cheek before moving towards the bathroom, where she locked the door and promptly pull out another pair of clothes. A pair of skinny jeans and a black long sleeve shirt. She ruffled up her hair before pulling it into a high pony tail, pushing up her sleeves, dumping her dirty clothes in the trash, sliding on her flats and back out and to the table.
He smiled as she went to go change her cloths, and promptly ordered a bottle of red wine (Sorry don't drink so cant be more specific) and a plate of sweet and sour chicken with lo mein and stir fried vegetables. He then ordered a second plate of sesame chicken, with pork fried rice and vegetables as well. The waitress glanced at him again and walked away to turn in their order. As he sat, he saw the man that had been tailing them again. This time the guy stepped into the door, acting like just another customer but glaring at Adrian with hate in his eyes as he was taken to a seat on the other side of the room.
Adrian smiled as Eva sat down and touched her cheek softly. "Well, dear did you have a pleasant evening so far?" He spoke smoothly, in his old cold tone. But his eyes never meet hers. They remained riveted on the other guy who was staring blatantly at Eva. He pulled out the poster, glanced at it then her again, and put the paper away. The scoundrel smirked at Adrian and blew a kiss at her and winked, laughing and turning to the waitress to order.
Adrian's face turned red in anger, and his free hand slid to his pistol unconsciously, every nerve screaming in his body to blow the bastard's brains all over the restaurant. His fingers tightened on the grip, his eyes hard and his body taunt.

She sat back down, placing her bag on the corner of the chair. She looked at Adrian and smiled before she saw the look on his face. Her eyes followed his just as his hand went to her cheek snapping her eyes looking towards him. She didn't need to look to know she was being watched, she could feel the tug. She reached up and wrapped her hand around his that was on her cheek drawing it to her cheek and burying her face in it to draw his attention away from the man. He must have come in while she was in the bathroom. The waitress placed the wine, and the plates before them as Adrian withdrew his hand. She forced a smile, her facade dropping quickly. She was having an issue keeping up the act. There were a lot of innocents in the restaurant. She glanced to the back exit. If they could get to the woods she would be able to easily navigate away from their pursuer. She kicked him lightly under the table, her eyes telling him to stay calm, as she took a bite of food. They wouldn't be the first to attack if it came to that, she was going to make sure of it.
Adrian didn't even flinch when she took his hand though he let her. The feelings of warm toward her did not flow this time, though he didn't pull away until food was set before them. He finally jerked his eyes back to her as a sharp kick connected to his leg and his hand pulled away from his pistol. He gritted his teeth and he slowly began to eat. His eyes tried to stay on her, but they kept flicking over her shoulder towards the man.
Faster and faster his anger grew as the man made several, extremely rude, vulgar, and sexual gestures at Evangeline's back. Finally, in a fit of rage, Adrian slammed himself back away from the table and stood up. He growled at Evangeline, not meaning to be so rough but his anger boiled out of him and around him like a black cloud. In fact, it was an actual cloud of darkness, hovering just over his skin as he almost loosed his element upon the man.
"Gotta...go to the bathroom." He grunted and tossed his napkin into his seat. He stalked past Evangeline, taking a very not bathroomly route towards the man. As he reached his table, Adrian suddenly stopped and leaned down by the man and rested a hand upon his shoulder. He whispered in his ear for a few seconds, and the man's eyes widened in horror. Then an audible gasp of pain was heard around the restaurant as Adrian's hand on the man's shoulder flex brutishly, bruising bone beneath it.
Smirking, Adrian stood and released the man and continued with his walk towards the bathroom. The man watched him go and leap from his seat, grasping his wounded shoulder and glaring in hate at Evangeline. His lips parted as he shouted across the restaurant.
"You better be glad your new boy toy is around to protect! Other wise you wouldn't be so lucky." The man flew from the restaurant, dashing out the door and into the darkening streets and finally disappeared down a dark ally. A few minutes later, Adrian slipped back into his seat and picked up his fork again, smiling as he began to eat again, this time with gusto.

She was caught off gaurd as Adrian finally shoved back, her red widening, as anger rolled off him, before they narrowed. She dropped her fork on her plate as he growled at her, her arms crossing. Oh he would pay for that later.
She turned in her chair as he strode away towards the man, her own energy building if she needed to do something. Instead Adrian whispered to him, bruised him up and went to the bathroom. She watches in horror as the man jumped up and yelled across the restaurant causing all eyes to turn towards her. Her face flamed up and she sank into her chair as Adrian returned her eyes locking on him as he ate.
He took several large bites of food, chewing happily before he realized he was being stared at and looked up from his plate slowly, his cheeks slightly puffed out with food. He looked sheepishly at Evangeline and grinned before swallowing hard and finally lifting his head.
He smiled and shook his head looking at her. Her cheeks where flushed, and she was cowering slightly in her chair. He looked over both shoulders to see if he had grown horns or something and then looked back at her perplexed.
"What is wrong, Eva? You look as if you have seen a ghost or something." He chuckled at his own joke then stopped abruptly as he understood know wasn't the time nor the place for such foolish behavior. He sighed and shook his head.
"Look, I am sorry. He was being utterly rude and vulgar. I didn't attack him at least. So I was hoping for points in that department, but it looks as if I screwed that up." He looked down at his plate and pushed food around slowly, biting his lip and fidgeting. Why was he trying to make her so happy? He should have just killed the man instead of threatening him and roughing him up. It would have been simpler. Much less dangerous. The man could go get more and attack them en mass later when they where not expecting it now.
