She shook her head. “I was merely commenting upon the bluntness. I did not take offense at the words. It is understandable that you do not know of Gorgons apart from what you have heard.”
She regarded the elevator when he suggested she should be going upstairs to wash up. She then turned her gaze to the key, regarding the room number attached. “I never implied you are not one who listens, nor one who does not care. I was merely asking. Earlier you made it a choice between two options, and now you are offering both. I am merely curious as to why,” She told him. But instead of waiting for an answer, she left it more as a rhetorical statement, as she walked away.
Going to the fourth floor, she found her room and looked around. After inspecting every inch of it, locking her door and clothing the curtains, she shed herself of the human clothing before switching into her true form. Whenever she was one of those two-legged beings, she felt like she had an itch to scratch, but could not reach. It was always comfortable returning to this form, like shedding a sweaty outfit once you arrive home and kick off your shoes. It was liberating, for lack of a better word.
In her form, she stretched, her tail feeling weird from spending so much time as legs, and her hair feeling even odder after spending so much time being inanimate. They coiled and hissed at her, obviously having not enjoyed the treatment. She apologised to her hair, before slithering over to the washroom, turning on the shower. She let it heat a bit, eyeing the bathtub distastefully. She was only eight feet, from head to tail, and that was the small side of Medusa Gorgons. And yet the tub was much shorter in length than needed. Stupid small humans.
It was awkward fitting her tail in there, but she had no wish to shed them for legs yet again. After drying herself, she apologized to her hair yet again before taking on the same human form as before, dressing and heading back downstairs. She left her items in her room, apart from her weapon, wondering if the Shifter had left yet.
He in fact had not moved at all, simply sat there, eyes closed and chin in hand thinking. However, as she approached his heard her foot falls and looked up, smiling and nodded. "I bet that felt really good, huh? So...where exactly is it in the mountains you are looking to go, Stilia? I know a few places we could head to, but they may not be to your liking. I just don't know you that well yet." He sighed, shrugging. It wasn't anything personal, but was simply a fact. He had just meet her a couple hours ago.
He stood, holding the door open for her and would follow after her and look up at the mountains, then back at her. "Well, where is it to, Madam Stilia? The cave systems? The peaks? Or perhaps the underground lake that is a secret to all but a myself and a few others? It is all up to you now."

She resisted the urge to sigh when she saw the shapeshifter was still present. Did he plan on sticking to her like glue for the rest of the day? It had been hours and yet still here he was, doing everything he could to satisfy her needs. It was downright creepy, to be honest. But she held a polite tongue, most of the time, and so far there had been no bad brought on by his presence.
“Yes, I suppose it did. As for where I wish to go, I have not yet given it much thought.” She admit. She had merely planned on walking over, looking at it, maybe climb a little bit, before turning around and heading back, gathering her items before she set out to find yet another wonder of the world. She had yet to see the moai statues on Easter Island, or the Eiffel Tower in France.
She was finally about to express some of her exasperation. Tell him that she had not invited him along to her little sight-seeing trip. That he should probably leave her be before she got the temptation to try and rip his head off like the others. Well, she wouldn’t unless he really pissed her off or something, but she meant it for the general point. That is when he mentioned the underground lakes. She damned her curiosity for becoming interested. “An underground lake? I had been unaware that the Rockies held one. Is it nice?”
He grinned, seeing her immediate interest in the lake and nodded fast. "Oh...it is extremely nice. It has all kinds of rock formations and crystal growths. The lake is deep and clear, with strange sightless fish and albino blind newts that live in it. Alas, I would not go swimming in the lake though. It is...well...occupied. You will see when we get there." He chuckled and walked beside her, keeping a measured pace to stay along side her but not go to fast. As they neared the edge of town, he leaned close and whispered in her ear.
"Once we a ways in to the woods, you may change in to your natural form if you wish. I am sure it would be much more comfortable for you and allow you to move much better." He chuckled, not mentioning that he was also eager to see a gorgoness in her natural form now. He continued walking slowly and sighed, watching his feet as he walked now.

Why was she following him? She had barely been aware that they were walking as he talked, and was slightly confused. Her feet had merely automatically been put into motion, as she listened about the blind newts and fish. Let alone the cat, she figured curiosity would one day kill her as well. So much for living until she reached an old age; not that she really expected that considering her current lifestyle.
“Occupied?” She repeated, slightly confused. Did some sort of monster live there? She wanted to know now, so she could be ready for a fight. Or merely avoid it. She shook her head no at his suggestion though. If she changed into her true form, it would tear apart her pants, which she needed on return to the town. And there was no way she was stripping either, before changing, she did have dignity after all. Plus, it was a popular tourist site, so it would merely be wiser to stay looking normal. Although she didn’t bother voicing any of her reasons out loud. She returned to the topic of the lake’s occupant. “What is there? I wish to know before I go parading blindly into there.”
He grinned and shook his head. "I am not telling!! It is a surprise! But don't worry, it won't attack unless you enter the water." He chuckled and kept walking. He made no comment about her choice to stay in her humanoid form, for it was none of his business though he could think of several reasons right away for her preference. He stepped over a large rock and kept walking up the slopes as it steadily grew colder. They had gone perhaps five or six miles, and the light was beginning to slowly fade from the sky as the sun began it's prelude to setting.
He pointed over a ledge and whispered to her. "It is right there. Just another few minutes walk then we gotta climb up on to that outcropping." He stopped below the outcropping, then bent his legs and leap upwards. He grabbed the edge of the lip, and hauled himself over and then stuck his head back out and offered a hand down towards her to help her up. If she took it, he would haul her up bodily so she wouldn't touch or scrape along the wall.

“It won’t attack me unless I touch the water. Wow, I feel so fucking reassured,” She grumbled, barely noticing the human cuss word. The word had begun to pay more and more frequent visits to her vocabulary, instead of swears such as ‘By Medusa’s Eyes!’. Swears such as that had only gotten her odd looks. She wondered how a Gorgon would react if she said something like ‘Bitch’. Perhaps they would think she merely saw a dog? It was an odd thing to ponder.
Dusk settled in, and the forest quickly darkened. This was the time to be wary, although Stilia was ready for whatever may come. Or at least ready for some things that may come, while others would probably throw her off guard. Such as a meteor landing upon her. But that was irrational thought, and she instantly banished it. She rephrased her earlier thought; she was ready for anything that was more than slightly possible in chance to happen.
Her eyes followed his finger to the ledge, and she wondered why he was whispering. She followed him and watched as he jumped up with surprising agility. She was quick in her snake form, but still somewhat clumsy in her human form. In neither form could she make a leap like that though. She eyed his hand warily, before taking it. Next thing she knew, she was being pulled up, which freaked her out for a short moment.
He set her quickly upon the ground so her feet where back upon solid ground almost instantly, and stood up dusting his knees off and straightened and looked at her. "Well, that was interesting. Sorry to have freaked you a bit like that. I didn't mean to. It was just sorta, natural so you didn't have to worry about getting up." He shrugged and sighed. turning and flourishing a hand upon the mouth of the cave that loomed before them in the darkness. A soft pale light glowed upon the wall, a luminescent mold growing upon the surfaces of the inside of the cave casting a soft greenish blue light. "Here we are, my own personal hide away spot. It is a marvel that few get to see."
He stepped back and away, bowing and waving he inside. "Ladies first, please. There is nothing to be afraid of in here besides the creature of the underground lake." He smiled feebley at his own stupid old time joke, wondering if she would get it but it didn't really matter that much. He followed her in, walking slightly behind her and to her left, looking around. It was the same as always, the light gently lighting their path down the long tunnel that sloped slightly downwards and curved to the right heading deep in to the mountains.

She was quite glad when her feet touched solid ground again, even going as far as to breathe a sigh of relief. That had not been a pleasant experience, although she brushed it off. “Have no worries. I was merely not expecting it so suddenly. I was and am perfectly fine. Although a warning may be in order to whomever you plan on doing that to next.”
Her currently brown eyes scanned their surroundings, resting on a dark cave. Something about dark caves always seemed a tad menacing, as if they were the mouths of giant stone beast, waiting for those stupid enough to wander inside. The odd luminescence did not help ease her anxiety, as it seemed unnatural. It was as if they were the souls of those eaten by the cavern, warning for others to turn back. Still, when he waved her inside, she walked in without turning back, her curiosity getting the best of her, as it always did. She could hear the shifter’s footsteps behind her, and she was wary as to any sorts of tricks he may pull. A bit inwards of the sloping tunnel, she finally spoke again. “You never informed me of your name, although I informed you of mine. Will you enlighten me so I may call you something other than ‘the shifter’?”
The male laughed softly in the dimly lit tunnel, making sure to stay several paces behind her so as not to intrude upon her personal space that he was certain she still wanted to maintain for they didn't know each other to well. He smiled at the back of her head, then stopped. "Alright...I will make you a deal. I will turn my back, wrap my eyes so I can not see and you take your normal form. In return, I shall give you my name. How does that sound? A trade." He smiled, waiting to see what she would say.
He was extremely interested in seeing a gorgon's true form, for he had never seen them before. Also, he had a secret fascination with reptiles, especially snakes, and insects though he actually loved all animals. He tilted his head, watching her through his unusual gold eyes but no longer had a smile for he didn't want to look like some sort of creepy freak who was about to watch a girl strip through her window. That was NOT what this was about in anyway. He was just...curious was all.

She pondered over his deal for a moment, and a small smile of amusement crept onto her face. Probably the first smile this shifter had received and she doubted he could even see it, being behind her. “Well, that does not seem like much of a fair trade. It gives me no gain apart from being able to call you something other than shifter. That would merely be your loss, unless you prefer simply being called shifter. And you know my name, so should it not be assumed that I have the right to know yours?”
Still, even after that, a small bubble of laughter escaped. “But I will bite. If you really wished to see my form that badly, you could have asked. Instead of all those indirect tries. It would have been much simpler to change at the motel inside my room, instead of in a cave. Now go on, turn around. I would not want to break the human code of indecency.”
Pausing a mere moment to give him the chance, she set herself to stripping down, before quickly shifting into her true form. She was no longer that brown-eyed, brown-haired girl, but a half snake of eight feet in length. Her hair had become hissing snakes, all moving around, some snapping at the air around them while others stretched. Her scales were a motley assortment of greens, matching her eyes. She was still wearing the human shirt, but that was the only thing that remained the same. “And there. This is what a Gorgon looks like.”
Having turned around, the male waited as she changed and when she spoke he finally turned back to face her. His eyes traveled along her form, taking in her brilliant green coloring and eight foot length he smiled. "Well now, that is something else. That is very nice Stilia. Very nice idea. It is a shame you have to hide it from the world to fit in. Now...as promised...."
He walked towards her, extending his hand to her in the general way people shake hands. He waited for her to take it, however hesitant she might be, and he chuckled. "Like I said, I promised. My name is Ca'guuror DelaSangre, and it is a pleasure to meet such a magnificent, beautiful creature such as yourself Stilia." He would step back and then around her, leading her farther in down the tunnel before it suddenly bloomed open in to a magnificent cavern, lighted from the ceiling by the same bioluminescence lighting up the stalactites and stalagmites. Crystals grew in small clumps through out the cavern, and the lake was against the far wall, the entire size and breadth of the cavern about the size of a football field.

She smiled slightly. “Thank you. It is not often that I get that sort of reaction, usually people run away screaming. Probably off to get their pitchforks.” She joked lightly, warily taking his hand and shaking it. She had seen humans do it before, although usually they were men and woman in suits, with solemn faces. She also somewhat preferred the terrified reaction, as it meant they were scared of her. When she had first set foot in the outside world, people saw her, and had been mesmerized by her, but not in the way Medusas usually mesmerize people. They had captured her and caged her, showing her off like some sort of animal. That had been before she could bring her body to shift, before she could appear normal to the world, and blend in. So, when she was called ‘beautiful’, of all things, by someone who came from a species completely humanoid, she was slightly thrown off. Did he want to put her in a cage as well? So far he had yet to make an aggressive move. But she still could not help but be wary, wondering if this was some sort of elaborate trap, were the captor slowly gained some of her trust.
When he released her hand, after finally placing a name upon himself, he turned and continued their journey, the gorgon following him deeper. It felt odd, slithering again. It was very different than walking, but all her tail needed was a good stretch. She would grow used to it relatively soon. She followed ‘Ca’guutot DelaSangre’ until they reached the opening. A large mouthed cavern, lit up perfectly by crystals, and filled with a still lake. She gaped a slight bit, before managing to get out a handful of words. “This is lovely.”
The male smiled, letting her soak it all in and then whispered softly almost reverantly. "Yes, it is. I found it long ago, and just didn't tell anybody about it." He walked along, touching several stalagmites and walking around them. He slowly walked through the cave heading towards the other side to the lake. He had every intention of showing her the magnificent creature there. He had been joking about it eating her, but not the monster. If monster it could be called. He stopped upon the edge of the lake, for there was no beach nor sand, just a rocky drop off in to the inky darkness.
Kneeling down upon his knees, he slowly placed his right hand upon the surface of the water so the palm was just barely touching the water. He held it there several seconds, before a ripple appeared far out in the water. The ripple moved towards his hand, before something large and black slowly rose beneath his hand, lifting it from the surface of the water. It would be possibly the strangest creature he had seen in his life, and probably Stilia. It could be most accurately described as a prehistoric mosasaur, though instead of a scaly skin it was rubbery like that of a whale. The colors upon its body would remind anybody who knew of them of that of an Orcinus orca (Killer whale) with the black back and sides, a white underbelly and white spots behind the eyes. It had four paddle like fins and a wide crocodile style tale great for swimming. A soft, chirping sound came from the creature and Cag slowly rubbed it's nose.
"Stilia, this is Jasmine. Jasmine, this is Stilia. She is a friend." He smiled, his hand slowly running up and down the baby leviathan's head. Her aqua blue eyes closed, a wet gurgling coming from her throat as she enjoyed the petting and then looked at Stilia, extending her neck for a petting from the female.

Her eyes kept slowly shifting over the entire length of the cavern, repeating the action over and over. She was trying to capture the image, and print it in her mind. It was certainly lovely, with the crystal light causing the large lake to shimmer in quite a unique way. She wondered what had caused Ca’guuror to go searching the Canadian Rockies who knows how long ago. And he had gotten lucky enough to find this lovely place? But she didn’t comment, following him as he weaved through the stalagmites and over to the lake. She watched as he stopped by the lake, wondering what in the world he was doing. He couldn’t possibily think of toucjing it, could he? After all that talk about a monster with a taste for flesh and a thirst for blood. Had that merely been a li- Oh my Medusa, he’s touching it!
She watched with held breath as the water rippled. Was he merely saying those stories to scare her? Surely no monster could live here. Was there even a source of food for a creature to live in this secluded lake? Suddenly something dark and large rose from the surface. She would have given a gasp if her breath had not been held, and it caused more a slight moment of silent choking as she remembered to breathe out instead.
It was unlike anything she had ever seen before. It reminded her of the pictures of Orcas that she had seen in her beloved books. But it could not possibly be so, as it was much thinner, and much longer. The head shape wasn’t quite right either, plus, she knew that whales did not live in underground lakes. It chirped, if chirping was the right word to describe a noise made by an unreal whale-like marine creature. She watched curiously as Ca’guuror pat it like a mere cat, or dog. She wanted to touch it, but was unsure how it would react to a stranger. Whatever the thing was.
“Jasmine?” She repeated, slowly slithering towards the creature, with hesitance. It made another noise, seemingly stretching towards her. Stilia hesitantly touched it a brief second before shooting back her hand, watching for some sort of negative reaction. When nothing happened, she hesitantly returned her hand to the creature’s head, petting it. It was quite smooth, although rubbery. “What is Jasmine?”
