Tayva had wanted to spend some time in her home country while becoming more acquainted with the idea of being a Draconian. It hadn't been long ago that her parents had revealed the fact to her that she was part of an ancient line of beings, who possessed the ability to speak to Dragons. Of course this fit in perfectly with her dream of wanting to be around dragons, having recieved her own not long ago after being told of her heritage.
She had just finished visiting her relatives, who had moved to the western province of British Columbia, to return to the Rocky Mountains, home to a assortment of Red Dragons. Travelling east, she decided to make a small stop at a small secluded piece of lake front, near Lake Superior. Setting up camp, she sat at the edge of the water, still contemplating her need to decide what to do with her new found heritage. She wanted a purpose in life after all.
Not far away was her dragon, Talos. He had taken the form of a man, seeming to sunbathe on a towel not too far from the camp. He remain stretched out on his back, though in reality he was listening to the area around them, in case they were to receive any 'unwanted company'.

Kyrian groaned as he slowly began to regain consciousness, the throbbing in his head making it feel as though he was playing soccer, and his position was the ball. Trying to remember anything hurt too much, so the male simply gave up as he looked about him and saw trees; lots of trees. It seemed as though he were in a forest, which was a start; he knew he was alive and in a forest. He also knew that just sitting around on the forest ground with a concussion-caused migraine like some buffoon while his blood leaked out from his head was about as safe as bare-backing a five-dollar whore.
Once the male, finally, got steadily to his feet, he began to walk slowly in a random direction while using the nearby trees along his path as a sort of balance. He realized that the ground where he was laying seemed sort of depressed, as though something large, about man-sized, had fell there. Little did he know that he was the cause of the ground's depression from a little free-fall from a tree that broke nearly every bone in his body and left him bleeding to death; which he would've done if he were a normal human who didn't have accelerated healing. Unfortunately, now that he was once again conscious, the healing stopped and he had no idea about it.
The male heard rustling and walked towards the noise cautiously, hoping that he would be able to find help. As he stepped to the edge of the clearing he was nearly blinded by the sudden brightness of the sun which made his headache even worse and disoriented him as he stumbled blindly forwards and fell to the ground. The last thing he saw before passing out once more was a girl who looked to be in her late teens setting up a camp while a male lay out on a rock, not helping her in the slightest. 'Asshole,' Kyrian thought before passing out for the second time that day.

A small thud not too far away caught Talos' attention first, and in moments he was on his feet, facing the direction of the unconscious man. Tayva glanced over at Talos, cocking her head to the side. "What is it?" she questioned, before following his gaze to the man laying on the ground. She got up from setting up her campfire, waving to Talos to take over where she had left off, before running over to the man. She couldn't just leave him there after all.
A bit cautious of strangers, Tayva never went anywhere without being armed with a combat knife and pistol, the former remaining in her hand, which was hidden in her pocket. She approached him carefully, and after walking around in a circle to ensure he wasn't hiding a weapon on her, Tayva knelt down to see if he was alright. The man was breathing, so he was still alive, but he also looked to be badly hurt too.
Leaving her knife in her pocket, she carefully wrapped her arms under his armpits, joining them at his chest before slowly carrying/dragging him back to the camp that she had set up. Arriving back to the camp, Talos had already finished with the fire, which was now burning brightly in the depressed pit. Looking at the male, Talos frowned, obviously not caring for his presence. Most dragons were not social to other creatures, apart from other dragons and Draconians of course. But he had to respect Tayva's wishes, especially if he meant getting Tayva back to her true self, before the incident.
Slowly, Tayva set him down on her sleeping bag, careful to clean his wounds first to keep him from bleeding out all over her things.

Kyrian tossed about in his fitful dreams, recalling all of his close-to-death experiences. He re-encountered every single time in vivid detail as he twisted about on the sleeping bag, imagining the gryphon's tail piercing his lung, the time he nearly died due to food poisoning, a bad hunt for a vampire that led him into a coven, and a terrible nightmare of the night that began his journey... The male sprung up suddenly as he left hand clutched at the air near his waist on his left side, hoping for something reassuring to be there to keep him safe.
He soon realized where he was... Or at least realized that he was in the camp that the girl from earlier had been setting up. He looked around to see where the two people had gone, noticing the male from earlier hanging around close to the fire, but not sure where the female had gone. He hoped she was safe, vaguely recalling that there was something dangerous in these mountains. He tried to remember his name, or why he was here, but the more he thought about it, the more his headache came back. So he gave up and sat there, gazing into the depths of the fire before speaking to the male nearby without looking at him. "Thank you for helping me. I hope that I haven't bothered you too much."

Talos glanced over at the strange man, before giving him a silent nod. Even if he wanted to, he couldn't speak. At least not in the human tongue, and using his own native language could be a cause of alarm to the man. Hopefully Tayva would be back to talk to the man, as the air of silence would probably be a cause for some discomfort.
Fortunately Tayva wasn't too far away, having been out trying to find a log to use as a temporary bench for near the fire. As she came into view, struggling to roll the large log. Talos rose to his feet and walked over to her, relieving her of her job. Tayva took the chance to run back over to the camp, seeing Kyrian was now conscious. Meanwhile, the disguised dragon easily moved the log into place by the fire, not seeming to even break a sweat.
"Glad to see you're up!" Tayva started, collapsing onto the positioned log, looking over at the man with a small smile. "You seem to have gotten yourself pretty banged up." she noted, rubbing the back of her head. "So we brought you here... thought it would be safer. You never know what things are lurking out in the forest, especially during the night." As she finished, Talos wandered off toward the water, net in hand to catch something to eat.
"My name's Tayva... so why are you out here anyway?"

The male shifted his eyes about, ignoring the awkward silence, before he heard some rustling behind him and turned to see the female from earlier pushing a log towards the camp. The male soon went to help the struggling girl, and she in turn came towards Kyrian. The elemental noticed how the male easily, if not effortlessly, moved the log into place by the fire; but no human should be able to do that. They were human weren't they? Of course they were! There was nothing else they could be... Right?
Kyrian was confused in his disoriented state, but he smiled as the female addressed him. He liked her hospitality and friendly attitude, something which he knew he wasn't too accustomed to for some reason. He thought about what she said about not knowing what could be in the forest and a sudden image flashed in his mind; large, red scales, and a giant eye that seemed to full of hate. Then came the noise; a mixture between a scream and a roar that brought the male back out of his dream state.
He looked back up at the girl, focused once more to catch her last statement. 'My name's Tayva... So why are you here anyway?' Kyrian thought hard about that one question, and once again saw the red scales, not knowing what they could possibly mean. "I have no idea why I'm here, and the only thing that I can think of whenever I think about it are scales. Large, red scales like a giant lizard or something... Hell, I don't even know my own name right now!" The male then looked down at his torn black tee shirt, if there was even enough of it left to be qualified as a shirt, and his mud-splattered, ripped jeans. "And I'm dirty as hell."

Tayva scratched the back of her head, a little unsure how to answer his rambling statement. Judging from his description, she figured it was one of the local dragons. Though what could he have done to anger the beast? The description of course caught Talos' attention, causing him to look over at the man suspiciously. Of course she could just tell him what it was he likely saw, but that would probably bring up more questions. Questions that could give her away.
"Well... That's certainly something... odd." Tayva replied, before giving him a slight shrug, as if she didn't have a clue on what it was that he had seen. "But whatever it was, it might still be back out there, so I'd probably hold off on going too far." she suggested, getting to her feet and walking over toward her tent. "As for your clothes, I suppose I could lend you an extra shirt. I don't have any pants that'll likely fit you though."
Digging through her bag, she pulled out a black plain shirt, one of the spares she kept for Talos. Not like the dragon liked being in human form that often, but a sudden shift normally meant needing extra clothes for when he ruined his. Of course, there wouldn't be any need to do that for awhile. At least not now, in the presence of what she could only assume was a Human.
With that, she tossed the extra shirt over to Kyrian. "As for the pants, I'm sure you could probably wash them off in the river. It's probably better than leaving them dirty anyways."

The male laughed and agreed that washing his jeans in the river would be better than leaving them dirty. He quickly got up, somehow feeling as though his concussion where going away faster than it should be, but the amnesia was still there to torment him. He walked to the river and placed his new shirt down, then struggled out of his tattered shirt, the sweat and mud making it stick to his body. After eventually getting it off, he dropped it on the shore before wading into the cool water until he was waist deep, when he reached down and pulled off both his pants and underwear, standing nude in the water but gratefully protect from view by the water.
The male balled his hands into fist and used his knuckles to scrub his body roughly, cleaning the mud and dirt off fairly easing since his well-toned body's hard texture made it easier to scrape stuff off than if he were pudgy. When his upper body was practically spotless, he began to wash out his underwear, already having completely forgotten about the two on the riverbank.
The male whistled a happy tune that he knew was from his childhood as he bathed himself and cleaned his clothing, his lower body still dirty beneath the water.

Tayva blinked as she saw him begin to undress, quick to avert her eyes. "Come on, let's give him a bit of privacy." she told Talos, slipping away into the tent, her companion following behind her shortly after. The dragon couldn't understand why the girl was so squeamish in seeing the male without his covering. After all, dragons technically walked around in the nude all the time. Perhaps they had some thought that exposing themselves was wrong. Whatever it was, he couldn't grasp the concept.
"I dont trust him. Why would he have upset one of my kin?"Talos questioned, his voice entering into her mind. The girl was still new to the feeling, her thoughts being tapped into by her companion. For some reason it always made her brain itch. "I'm sure he meant no harm." she replied, looking toward the opening of the tent. There was surely some reason he had gotten into that mess. Perhaps he had angered it on accident, wandering in on it while it was hunting or eating.
"There just has to be some reason... Perhaps when he remembers, he can give us more information. Until then though, we need to keep you on a down low." She knew that if the man had encountered a dragon that had almost killed him, the last thing he needed was to be in the presence of another. Especially if he had gained a fear of them.

Kyrian used the cleaned underwear as a bath towel for his lower regions before washing them once again. He noticed that the two seemed to have gone into the tent, typical behavior for a couple camping out in the woods. Though a bit rude to do something like that while they had a guest. Then he heard the female's voice speaking in a slightly guarded manner, as though talking about something that shouldn't be overheard. The elemental shrugged it off and finished cleaning his underwear for the second time.
It seemed as though the two were still talking, though Kyrian never once heard the male's voice. He wondered if he was mute or something, since he also didn't respond to Kyrian at the fire earlier. The elemental turned his thoughts back to his clothes as he began to wash his pants. While going over his right pocket, he felt a lump in the enclave and dug into his pocket in order to determine what it was.
The male pulled out a golden pocket watch and looked over it carefully, knowing that it meant a whole lot to him for some reason. He felt a sense of discovery as his thumb hovered over the button to release the latch and open the instrument. The elemental pushed down on the button and looked at the intricate clock inside, showing the time, day, month, year... And even including a compass. This was one of those multi-functional pocket watches, and there was something inscribed on the inside of the cover, four words in a cursive script... Come find me, son.
Suddenly the male remembered everything. His past, how he had come to hurt himself, where he was, and most importantly... Why he was here. The male let the answer to the last question escape his lips loudly, forgetting that he was out in the open, and definitely forgetting that there were two being nearby who might or might not be humans, who would definitely have heard the loud shout. It would be a miracle if people down in Colorado didn't hear him as he shouted that one word that had brought him to this region. "Dragons!"
The male quickly got out of the river and dragged on his soaked underwear and jeans, not caring about how cold they were. He was just slipping on the last leg of his jeans when he remembered the thing that he had grabbed for earlier when he awoke from his nightmares, something important that was missing... His katana. He had left it at the base of the tree when he had climbed it earlier and had been surprised by that dragon.

His sudden outcry caused Tayva to scurry from her tent, having been broken away from their conversation by the man's shout. Had he seen something? She wanted to find out for herself, before he caused anyone harm, or he was caused harm. As she crawled out, the first place she looked was up to the skies, though she couldn't see anything out of the ordinary. Talos was quick to follow, though his eyes were on Kyrian, a small growl coming up from his throat.
Tayva was quick to shush him, before hurrying over to their new companion. "I heard you shout. Is something wrong?" she asked quickly. She hadn't seen any dragons in the sky, so how come he had shouted it so loudly? Unless he was just suddenly beginning to remember what he had seen in the forest before his accident. That would make just as much sense, but why so suddenly? Normally something needed to happen to stir someone from a state of amnesia.
"Did you start to remember something?" she asked finally, Talos finally making his way over toward the two, arms crossed. She obviously looked a little worried, if not curious as to what he had seen.

The male looked up at the female as he zipped up his jeans, the shirt still laying at his feet. He smiled reassuringly as she asked if he was alright. He touched the back of his completely healed head as he looked her over, and the silent male behind her. Back into his usual mindset, he could automatically tell that this one was all-business most of the time, either the girl's bodyguard or her brother.
And the girl herself seemed to be armed, though completely at ease with him. Kyrian continued to smile as he answered her first question. "I'm perfectly fine, Tayva. Thank you." The male then looked past her, in the direction he had come from; eager to go back and retrieve his sword, yet not sure about leaving these two alone and out in the open.
"I remember everything," he said in response to her second question and then looked over the two again as he made up his mind. These two had saved him while he was still disoriented, so he would at least stay with them until he was certain that they were safe here. But he needed to retrieve his blade. "Uhhh... My name's Kyrian, and I can tell you more when I get back... But for now, I need to go get something I dropped back in the forest." The male ran off, not ever waiting for an answer.
When he reach the tree, he easily spotted his katana and picked it up, looking about for something else which he also spotted failry easily since he knew what he was looking for... Dragon paw-prints and claw marks. He noticed a set of prints in the tree's area, that seemed to be layered twice. The dragon form earlier had been back here twice, probably wondering if he would come back; form what he remembered, it would have been a kid dragon, barely over five in human terms. He smiled as he saw a larger set of prints, probably form the dragon's mom coming to check up on what her child was doing.
The elemental ran back to the camp and smiled as he saw the two again. "I'm back, if you'll still accept me."

"At least he's starting to remember things." Tayva thought to herself, grinning slightly at Kyrian. "Well that's great to hear. Your shout made me worried that something was going on, so we came out here to make sure you were okay." the girl explained. However as she spoke, she noticed that he seemed more interested in something behind her. He began to ramble slightly about needing to go get something, Tayva only picking up on the last part of his sentence. "Wait, what did you need to go get?"
As she asked, she found she received no answer. She blinked, realizing that Kyrian had taken off in the direction he had been glancing in before. "i guess I'll ask later..." she frowned, scratching her head before shrugging. She walked back over to the logs, slumping down before yawning. Tayva was beginning to feel quite hungry, making her wonder how much food they had left. She glanced over toward her duffel bag, remembering that she still had a few cans of soup left. They still had the option of catching fish to cook, but Tayva wasn't one that really liked to handle raw meat. Especially live writhing fish, which she would have to kill before her own eyes.
As she was stuck in that thought, she heard footsteps behind her, Kyrian returning with the item in question. "I'm back, if you'll still accept me." "Of course. Would you like something to eat?" she questioned, seeing the fair sized katana in his hand, a little surprised.

The male grinned at the female's warm reception. Anything regarding food was always welcome. However, there was a more important issue to settle here. The safety of these two... And figuring out what exactly they were.
Kyrian smiled as the female looked about through the foodstuffs. He knew that she was an attentive person, remembering how she had checked him earlier before carrying him to the camp. She was used to being in dangerous situations, though Kyrian wasn't sure whether or not that extended past human limits. However, he believed that it did because of the male she had with her. He was silent and watchful, obvious someone very attuned to danger and how to be careful of it. Also, the way he moved the log earlier spoke of a strength that his form betrayed. And the way he had growled earlier when coming out of the tent was not human-like at all.
The elemental decided to push his luck as he looked at the female. "So... What are y'all?"
Post by Tayva Aschaund on Oct 12, 2012 21:48:09 GMT -5
"What do you mean?" was the first question Tayva asked, obviously trying to play innocent as he questioned what they were. Of course, for him to ask such a question meant that it was very likely that he either was not a human, or he had a lot of experience with non human sentients. And it started to seem obvious at this point that there were enough quirks between the two of them that he had to question them. Not that there was anything wrong with that, it was natural to be curious after all.
"Well... I guess we can't really hide it any more..." she said with a small grin, before nodding over to Talos. He showed concern in his face, though nodded at the gesture that she made. Almost instantly he began to grow right before the two, nearly taking up the campsite as his features gained draconic features. In a matter of moments, a large red Dragon stood behind Tayva, nuzzling her side before glancing at Kyrian with reptilian eyes. He was quite a large creature, though not at large as some of the older dragons got. The Draconian had only ever seen one ancient dragon, and he was quite massive. Though of course, he never left the mountains, being the head of the brood.
"As you can probably guess, Talos is a Dragon, which therefore makes me a Draconian. I don't suppose you're not entirely human either?" she asked.
