Rae had not expected such an in-depth answer and yet it was given and she blinked at the girl. What a wonderfully sophisticated idea. Rae was a little annoyed that she had not thought of it too, it would make so much sense. Rae could picture it now, in her mind’s eye, a network like that of digital imagery. She wet her lips, absently stroking her donkey’s mane as she answered, “Sounds fascinating.”
Rae played it down, there was no good this woman knowing all of her aces in the hole as it were. So she called back something of a non-committal answer.
Then of course the question about her backpack came.
Rae had many choices of how to answer this; she could choose to lie the most obvious conclusion to be to suggest there was something valuable in there. Or, she could be affronted and tell the woman to mind her own business. Rae did neither, but she did not fully tell the truth either. Rae’s backpack was of massive importance to her, it contained survival and personal items all of which were private to her, but she hoped to appease the girl by simply saying;
Korina smiled and nodded. The other girl was very none committal. Clearly jaded and elusive, never giving a straightforward or full answer. It was alright though. Korina didn't mind so much, cause she didn't know the girl. Perhaps she was being hunted? Or was a hunter? Or a shapeshifter unfamiliar with this form? All very possible questions none of which she had a answer for.
However that didn't bother Korina. She wasn't upset or distressed over the fact Rae didn't seem to be opening up to her. Some people just didn't like opening up. They had issues with it, maybe being afraid of being hurt. Then some others had even better reason, such as needing secrecy for their job to to stay safe against people who may wanna find and hurt them. All where good reasons to keep secrets. Korina guessed as didn't because well, to be honest she didn't have much to lose. She was already dying.
Patting Maple's neck she pressed a finger to her earpiece. "If we turn left up it, it will take us up a narrow path. The donkeys should be able o traverse it easily enough but other things would have to go around. It zig zags its way up the slope almost directly. It is also completely covered by trees offering shade and protection."

Rae paused her donkey at a point where the path was a little wider; “You lead.” She offered the girl with the blue-tooth device. For a moment Rae watched the woman; she was pretty, dark haired, olive skinned, but there was (Rae was sure of it) something more going on here. Everything she said and did pointed Rae down a suspicious route and for a little while Rae wanted to be able to see her companion and know her movements.
“What do you think we will need protection from?” She added, as she fell back into place behind the other; Kari happily following the swish of her sister’s tail.
Rae had heard about the temple, she was here for the very same reason as Korina, apparently. But was Korina a hunter? Rae didn’t think so, she didn’t carry herself in a way that Rae recognised, and there was no self-assured swagger, but more, something intelligent and calming about the woman. Now, there was something more interesting going on here than a simple hunt for a daemon. And yet, Korina had not flinched to know that Rae was carrying a gun.
Korina blinked as Rae offered her the lead and she nodded taking it. She hadn't flinched at the thought the female had a gun for three simple reasons. One, she was a weapons developer, weapons where her life. Second, it was India, there where lions and tigers and bears...oh my. Ok maybe not lions and bears...but definitely tigers and bandits at least. The third reasons was only mildly obvious. Her rifle was hung across her back.
At her question she looked over her shoulder and laughed softly. "Rae, I told you. Tigers have been reported up here. Bandits as well. The trees will offer protection from the bandits and places to hide from a tiger. At least long enough to draw you piece." She smiled and patted her own rifle. She frowned as her leg sudden cramped and she reached out and twisted the knob upon one of the servo motors upon her legs, causing the bands to tight around her leg and hold it tighter. The cramp went away instantly. This walking thing from NASA had been a blessing, but it was quickly becoming not enough and she was loosing the ability to walk again slowly. She had to find another way an quickly, cause she refused to live her life in a wheelchair once more.

Tigers.
Fine, let the woman have her secrets. Rae did not believe that her fear lay solely with that of bandits and tigers. If Korina had seen a Weretiger in action, as Rae had, she would never fear an average tiger again. Maybe the girl hadn’t been that lucky yet. Rae just smiled at the back of the girls head; “Righteo.” She said, in her smart British tones. “Tigers and Bandits, gotcha.” Of course, she was making no attempt to hide the fact that she did not believe the other woman as she let her pass on the trail.
Then the woman leant down and for the first time Rae noticed something she had not before; perhaps she was being particularly un-observant today, perhaps it was the heat, but her eyes spied the bolts and the frame in which the woman’s legs were bound. Glad the woman was riding in front and could not see her, Rae’s face was a mask of surprise for the briefest of seconds. Then she called ahead; “Leg giving you trouble?” She asked, curious now. “Been bitten?” She added, playing the dumb blonde- well pink-girl.
Korina raised an eyebrow at the female's smartass tone yet made no comment upon it. She was worried about tigers. Real ones and otherwise. In a jungle like this a real one was dangerous. She had seen a were tiger in action as well. Yet she knew from him that the true weres of the world where not blood thirsty mindless beasts as portrayed in books. Sure they could be violent and some could be bloodthirsty, but those where individuals and not the group as a whole. Then the female asked about her leg.
"Bitten? What would I have been bitten by?" She stopped her donkey and turned in her seat to look at the female. "The only thing I have ever been bitten by worse then a mosquito was my female roommate." She left the comment alone, not mentioning her roommate had been a Vamprye and Korina had offered her blood because she needed it, or at least the second time. The first time wasn't voluntary but thankfully the girl had stopped and somehow they had began a beautiful friendship.
"No Rae...this natural. Of sorts. I was born with a mysterious disease, and I have been looking for a cure but have not found any yet. It's eating away at my nerves and it caused the me to be unable to walk. I can't walk with out this contraption at all and am usually stuck in a wheelchair." She shrugged and gently got Maple moving again.

vrases sat quietly, munching on the bone of the nearby monkey that he had killed on his hunt. crunching the top open, he licked away at the tasty bone marrow that lay inside. he had definitely earned this damn kill; the monkey had made him chase it for nearly fifteen minutes, and after a while he had finally gotten the damn monkey. now, as he lay underneath the shade of the tree, he felt content to a certain degree...until he heard voices. voices coming near from the left.... humans. probably those damn hunter again; they had been tracking him for the past week.
getting up silently, he climbed up a nearby tree and began to walk from limb to limb, glancing around and following the voices. finally, after perhaps ten minutes of walking, he heard the voices in front of him, coming towards his location. sitting down, he placed one paw underneath his head and let the other one hang, sitting there lazily while he let the two come near. listening, he suddenly saw the two and listened in on their conversation. he nearly fell over in suprise; korina and rae, two humans that he had met in previous times past. snorting, he watched the two of them as they stopped nearly right in front of him without them even noticing him... he guessed that they were to deep in conversation to pay attention to him not 15 yards away. sitting lazily, he smiled ferociously as he causally sharped his claws on the wood, snorting through his nose as they began to notice that a fairly big bengal tiger was near them.... and he just sat there, listening and sharpening his calws and enjoying the cool air.

Kari stopped her gentle plot too when her sister came to a standstill, snorting a little and flicking her tail at the flies that had gathered around her. Rae wet her lips, wondering if she had offended the other as she stopped almost suddenly. Then the onslaught came, but it was not as Rae expected it to be. The woman had been bitten by her roommate? A vampire, perhaps, not a were-creature surely? Rae blinked at her; morbid curiosity asking hundreds of silent questions; what was it like? How did it feel? Why did the vampire stop?
But Rae remained silent as the woman explained about her legs and she listened. Then she dismounted her donkey, who fidgeted without her weight there, stepping from hoof to hoof anxiously. It caught Rae’s attention for just a moment, then the pink-haired girl wandered the slender path to where Korina was sat abreast Maple. For once Rae was not caught up with the fierce need to protect herself; this weakness said everything Rae needed to know. The woman was human. A bitten were would still have their marvellous healing properties and a bitten vampire would have strength enough to force their limbs to work.
Almost without thinking (which was unusual for Rae to do) she spoke again; “Then you are going to the daemon to ask it to heal you?” She asked quietly. They were heading to the temple, the woman knew more than she was letting on and this seemed like the obvious answer to Rae; who came up alongside to draw the donkey back to a holt as Korina tried to move her off once more. She paused the creature; stroking it’s mane and hushing her. Like Kari, Maple seemed anxious to be stopped here.
Like Korina, Rae was good with computers, but hers was not in the form of blue tooth or mapping or such; Rae was good with mechanics, with building, with hacking and coding and programing. “You need a scientist.” She said; “I had a friend once who could implant the genes of other creatures into himself; I’ve been trying to decipher some of his log books…If I work it out, I will help you, it could fix you.” She said, stroking Maple’s mane, almost embarrassed by her confession. Maybe she could put the books she had stolen from Craig to good use finally…”In the meantime, I think I can help with your frames.” She added, confidently.
Then she glanced back at Kari, her donkey, and it was that backwards glance that made a movement in a tree caught her eye. A flash of yellow and black; a big paw under the canopy of the trees was too big for a ‘normal tiger’; Rae glanced at Korina and put a finger to her lips to signal quick and stillness. Then she stepped back to her donkey. There was no need to move silently; the creature would’ve seen them this close but despite that Rae moved with caution about her. From the pack her donkey carried she drew a gun, already loaded with silver bullets.
Then she called up to the tree; “Three seconds to show your true self before I fire.”
Korina heard the hooves stop behind her, and she turned to watch. The donkeys where anxious, meaning something was wrong. Laid back animals that where well trained never acted up unless something was wrong. She looked around and sighed. She watched as Rae approached her and stood beside her.
Korina blinked and frowned. "No!!! No I am not going to some daemoness wench who has set herself up as an Indian goddess! She can't heal me anyways, I've tried...supernatural methods like that." She sighed and shook her head. "No, though thank you for the offer of those books. Your right they may be of help and is definitely appreciated." She watched as the girl sent her a quiet motion.
Korina looked up and saw the large paw of the tiger hanging from the tree. Korina laughed. "No Rae! Wait!" She turned back and got off her donkey and walked forward. "Vrases Caudt! Are you stalking me young man! Get you butt down here and greet me properly!!" She knelt and picked a rock up and tossed it playfully up at the tiger.

sluggishly turning over to face the two of them, vrases still sat with one part hanging down, staring at the two of them. of course, the two of them had vastly different reactions; one was going to shoot him, and the other wanted to say hi. harrumphing, he looked down as korina threw a rock at him. yowling slightly, he twisted and looked down at the human. sitting and staring at her, he waved his paw slightly, and smiled ferociously. getting up on all of his paws, he stretched and yawned like the big cat he was, showing a massive array of claws and teeth. smacking his lips lazily, he glanced down at the expectant human, groaning as he just fell back off the branches. yawning and stretching as he hit the ground, he walked over to the human and brushed up against her as a house cat might to show affection. it was quite an odd picture; a massive siberian tiger brushing up against a human. walking over to rae, he padded over quietly, watching her. sitting down, he watched her...and smiled. feeling his bones shift, he soon found himself standing back at his normal tall self. smiling at the two of them, he laughed "ladies. what exactly brings you to india? i wouldnt exactly expect either of you to be here....no offense" he said, smiling easily and disarmingly. "you know, you guys are walking right through a were tiger shrine... not exactly the safest place for two humans to be walking through....althoughhhhhh, if im with you they know that they can let you pass, and that you have sanctuary here among my kind while im with you here...there is that little tidbit." he said, laughing and smiling like he always did at the two girls, glancing over at the two of them.

How the hell did she know it was Vrases? Rae blinked and lowered her gun barrel; locking the safety back into place. As far as Rae knew, and could see, there was no way to tell a were-tiger from his paw. Perhaps they had some sort of code, because they clearly knew each other and as she watched Vrases brush against the woman it became clear to Rae that they knew each other well. After New Years Eve, where Rae had hunted with Vrases she had become more respectful for his skills, but she was not sure she would know him well enough in his skins to spot him down from a tree. Wetting her lips, she held the handsome ‘wetboys’ eyes as he stood up to her. When she smiled she gave him a grin too- a challenging one that suggested she found it amusing that he was here and that he was taking his resolution to ‘protect her’ seriously.
Rae glanced to the other girl; “So you’re blue tooth didn’t tell you that?” she asked, not blaming her-yet. If they’d been attacked for being on Were territory then maybe she would’ve been a little bit more annoyed. For now, and because of Vrases happy-go-lucky air, Rae was a little bit more relaxed. She rolled her eyes and went to Kari, soothing the donkey that disliked the presence of the half man-half beast.
“Korina is after a daemoness whose up at the temple.” Rae said, because she had come to this conclusion quite neatly over the last hour or so. “You up for a little sport, Kitty?”
Korina giggled as the large tiger rubbed against her like a common house cat though she knew him far from such. She knelt and hugged him tightly and kissed his forehead before he moved off to Rae. "Your silly Vrases! You should know every single tiger can be told apart by their strips and patterns. Yours are really unique as well, and after that one amazing night I should know them as well as you should!" She winked at him then laughed.
"Also I'm not to worried about your kind attacking. You remember my rifle and what it can do. A single shot would deter them enough to explain why I am here. Much as Rae has said is true. I am after Kali who has taken up residence in the temple above here and has been obtaining a vast following. I am sure that you know why has been happening, of this is one of your sacred spots. Surely the others would want her gone as well. I am not sure of she is a daemoness or not, but everything points to such." She raised an eyebrow at him, tilting her head questioningly.
She knew the were-tiger's background, and what he did for a living. It didn't bother her, for she had done much of the same thing in the same manner. Simply she did it covertly for a government that no longer publicly accepted her. Something she resented very much but at least she was paid well.

turning over to korina, one wondered what she meant, then he recalled the event. "are the other two alright? the younger of the pair seemed like she had an attitude problem, but the other was alright until she got that nasty wound to her side. was she ok? she had lost a lot of blood in that hunter attack... glad i showed up to help somehow; teleportation is a lot harder then you would imagine." he asked quizzically, wondering how the two vampires were. "has your leg still not healed yet? any progress on the cure?" he asked her, somewhat interested.
glancing back over at the hunter, he smiled mischievously and smiled, walking over towards her; she could guess at least part of the reason that he was there....however one of the other reasons was because he was here to place the head of Jonas, a were slayer, on a spear in the middle of the shrine...and he did. he had kept his promise to his kind to put an end to him and place the trophy where his kind could see. walking over towards the hunter, he leant over and propped his head onto her leg and looked up at her with a sad kitty face that he wore sometimes, smiling quickly; he couldn't seem to keep the face for to long, he enjoyed smiling to much. "sounds like fun humans, im in.... i want that bitches head on a stake too right next to jonas's." he said, smiling malevolently.
still with his head on her leg, he growled malevolently, standing up. " i know that bitch. she's practically set up her little cult right in the middle of our sanctuary. normally, i wouldnt object to someone coming here, daemon or not...but shes brought her cult followings and those damn humans are destroying the sanctuary weve kept guard over for centuries....she and her psycho fanatics need to leave. now." not that much angered vrases, but the destruction of forest sanctuaries, especially places that his kind held sacred was a quick way to get on his bad side.

Bleeding through a bite on his left leg the weretiger that had attacked him because it had assumed he was a member of Kali's cult caused, a male figure had finally decided to stop fighting back. "If it's that important to you, I'll leave." he said to the weretiger, who had then returned to his human form, and told him not to come back. The male, who appeared to only be fourteen years of age, limped away grudgingly, clutching his bleeding left leg. As he walked away from the temple, he eventually stumbled upon two female humans and another weretiger. He then unfurled his wings and flew to a treetop before they noticed him, carefully landing on one of the uppermost branches. 'Hopefully they don't see me up here...' he thought to himself as he wrapped the bite wound on his left leg in bandages that he had brought with him in case of an encounter with a werebeast. And he had been right to, as he was bleeding horribly and had barely managed to walk as far as he had, even if it had left spots in the trail covered in the blackish-red color of his blood.

(OoC: Sorry it took me so long to get back, unexpected things got me caught up. Back now though, please forgive me)
“I am after Kali who has taken up residence in the temple above here and has been obtaining a vast following...”
Rae gave a small smile and a gentle nod. It was why Rae was in the country, she had been here for some time, collecting information and studying the movements in and out of the jungles towards the temple. It was interesting but also nice that she was not the only person after the daemoness, and despite Rae mocking the blue toothed woman it was slowly becoming apparent that on some matters here Karina may know more than Rae did. She might be useful.
Rae was still a little unsure how she felt about the two of them already being acquainted. It wasn’t that she was jealous- was she? Rae couldn’t remember feeling jealous of anything since her school days, back in the ‘before days’ when her life was perfect in the posh city streets of Chelsea, London. Back then she had been jealous of material things, of the stuff that seemed irrelevant now. But what was the feeling in her chest as she watched the conversation between the too? Rae didn’t know and the feeling quickly soaked into the background as Vrases centred his attention on her.
His head on her leg she watched him and despite her earlier feeling of hot avarice in her chest, she was still a little wary of him. In fact she was a little wary of both of them wasn’t she? But here, again, was more useful information. Vrases had known of the daemoness too… and it gave Rae a thought in the back of her head. She spoke it now, as it appeared they were clearly on the same team and that perhaps the best course of action for such was honesty.
“It may be so that this daemoness has grounded herself in the temple; creatures like this draw power from the reversal of holy sites, it may be that she has invested so much into the land and the temple that we will have to destroy the building itself in order to weaken her enough to kill her.” Rae had faced something like this before, early on in her hunting, before she had the sense to understand it. A fire-bug had been causing several arsons in a suburban area of South Ireland, so desperate in its power rush the creature had bonded itself to a fire station, possessing (for want of a better word) the building as well as the crew and surrounding workers. Rae had, for many days, battled with it without appearing to weaken it. It was not until, and by complete accident, that a lightning storm destroyed part of the fire station that Rae realised the connection.
Rae did not have time to discuss this further when she was distracted by the bleating of the donkies. After Vrases arrival they had become anxious- who could blame them- but the strangled sound from their lips suggested unfounded terror. A wet drop of blood dropped down onto the white star on Maples’s head and the donkey trembled. Rae blinked for a moment, her hand slipping once more to her weapon. She drew the gun from the back of her pants and held it in her hand.
