Cag dropped from the sky, landing on the outskirts of Luxor in the middle of the night as he let the wings he had grown to fly here slid back in to his back. He sighed, shivering as the appendages vanished and the flesh closed over where they had been. He looked about and smiled. It looked like he was the first here. He walked around, dressed in his usual black skin tight leather vest and black military cargo pants. He wore no shoes, but had a katana strapped upon his back with a black leather bag hanging from his left hip with what looked like six marbles inside. He whistled softly, then stood still to see if there was any return from his companion he knew was coming.
He had invited the Gorgon along as a sort of joke at first, but when she had been more then willing to come, he had jumped on it. Much better to do things with a companion after all. He cocked a head, listening for anything. She should be here, but she might of ran in to trouble or something else that had held her up. He sighed, tapping his foot impatiently. He was just worried for his friend was all that was wrong, but he was still anxious and needed to know she was ok. If anything had happened to her, he would blame himself cause he had asked here here in the first place.

Stilia was walking through the town of Luxor, heading for the outskirts. Ca’guuror had said he would arrive tonight, and she planned on meeting him there before he arrived. She had been in the town for three days, having flown over the instant she had received word from her shapeshifting friend. He wanted to find the Sphinx. That was something Stilia had wanted to do for a long time, and had roamed Egypt’s deserts before in search of it. Although she had come across pesky demons, the legendary creature had eluded her. Hopefully this time she would succeed.
She was equipped with her knife and her ever trusty backpack, although it held different contents than usual. Her clothing had all been dumped in a bank vault, having signed up for one the moment she arrived. She needed all the room for basic survival things, but hadn’t wanted to merely get rid of her old items. Not had she wanted to drag several bags across the desert.
Suddenly, without warning as she had not been paying good attention, she was grabbed and dragged into an alleyway. A gun was held against her head as a man pushed her into a wall. Instead of screaming or doing anything stupid like that, she merely looked him in the eye. That was all it took before he was frozen, mesmerized. After pushing him off of her, she took out her knife and slit his throat, watching his body drop. She quickly shifted through his pockets, taking his money, before her eyes drifted to the gun. That could come in handy. So she took it, checking it for bullets before stuffing it into her backpack. She even took the time to stop by a store to pick up more bullets, just in case. Nobody questioned you in Luxor if you were buying bullets in the middle of the night, as long as you paid more than they were worth.
She knew her shot wouldn’t be too swell at first, but she figured she might as well learn. She needed something a little more long range than a dagger, for if she threw that, she was throwing away her only weapon.
Her eyes scanned the sky, and she sighed. “Oh fuck, I’m late.” She mumbled, before setting herself off to go meet Ca’gguror. For irony’s sake, she was in the form she had been in during their first meeting. As she stepped into the outskirts, her eyes scanned through the night, trying to find the shifter.

Cinnel walked down the road slowly, her hands stuffed in her shorts pockets. The night was warm, and the night sky was clear, letting the stars shine to their full extent. It was nice, this small town. Seemingly quiet, with a small breeze. Cinnel removed her hands from her pockets and tugged at the neck of her black sleeved tee.
Cinnel wandered for a while, getting frustrated with the maze of streets. “Damn this place. Why am I here?” She said aloud, passing in front of an alley. It wasn’t until she got a few yards past it when Cinnel head a shuffling sound. She turned around slowly, creeping against the wall of a building. She stopped at the edge, and looked around the corner cautiously. It was a man and woman, the man clearly attempting a murder or mugging. Cinnel watched with interest, curious as to how this would turn out. If it ended the way she predicted, Cinnel would make her move. The man held a gun to the woman’s head threateningly. But much to her surprise, the woman did not scream. In fact, she didn’t do anything. She just stood, and stared at the man.
Cinnel, even more intrigued, watched intensely. Cinnel widened her eyes and the man grew stiff, and was easily pushed away by the woman. Just as easily was his throat cut open. Cinnel gagged silently at the sight of blood, but recovered quickly. The man’s body fell, and the woman crouched low to the ground, digging in his pockets, and taking any money found. The woman reached for the gun that the man had dropped, and placed it in her backpack.
She kept an eye on the woman, following her around the city. Cinnel wondered what this girl was up to.
Cag waited impatiently, then walked towards the nearest building. Bending one knee to the ground, he leap skywards and landed upon the building's roof. He turned and squatted there like catcher at a baseball game. He rested one hand upon the eve of the building between her legs, keeping his balance and watched for a figure. Anybody coming this way this late would have to be Stilia. He squinted, then finally a shadow came away from the buildings and began to walk out in to the desert a bit. He grinned, and then tilted his head, seeing somebody moving farther back in the shadows.
He leap to the ground and walked towards Stilia quickly, whistling. "Stil, I am over here. Who is your friend you brought? I don't mind...." He laughed softly and squinted, then sniffed the air and a huge grin split his face. "My word, is that YOU Cinnel! Have to say I didn't expect you here! Come on out where we can see you better. Stilia doesn't bite, well to often." He winked at Stilia and laughed softly, but it was still pretty loud in the quiet night. A light flicked on and somebody poked a head out of a window, shouting at him in a foreign language. It was very clear what they wanted though, for him to shut up cause they where sleeping. He grinned sheepisly, shaking his head. "Guess I get a bit excited huh?"

Stilia had been perfectly aware that somebody had been following her. With every seemingly innocent footstep, another set echoed, as the stalker did not seem to be taking much precaution. Her nose was filled with the scent of a supernatural, and she figured she might as well get out of the town before turning onto the defensive. Plus, Ca’guuror could assist her.
Speaking of which, he came strutting over, whistling. His voice was loud, but she was unsure if Ca’guuror even had a switch to lower it. He instantly started questioning her about her follower, and she was trying to cast a ‘keep quiet!’ look to him. That is when the shifter suddenly recognized the girl. He recognized her loud enough that people had to shush him in whatever foreign language. Stilia turned around, finally facing the girl. Her eyebrow was raised. “You, Miss Cinnel, need to become quieter when you follow someone. Also, I suggest it is a habit you drop, for if Ca’guuror hadn’t recognized you, you would be laying in a puddle of your own blood in about three seconds.”
She sighed and turned her attention to Ca’guuror. “Yes, a tad bit too much. I swear, your noise has probably already informed the Sphinx of our intentions. And, for the record’s sake, I prefer gouging out someone’s eyeballs over biting them.”

As she followed, Cinnel gathered enough clues to know that the woman was heading to a rendezvous point. It was a seemingly long walk, probably because of the layout of the city. After a few moments, Cinnel became aware of the other person, which she recognized as Cag. Cinnel stopped short, keeping to the shadows. He had seen her, or heard her rather. Almost as soon as he knew she was there, Cag called out her name, and began chatting with her; more of a one sided conversation. Cinnel shrugged to herself, and stepped out of hiding, walking forward.
“Hello again, Cag. This is quite the coincidence. I am here on account of somebody stole my bike, and tracking it has been pretty difficult. That’s why you saw me walking in Oregon.” She turned to the woman.
“I’m not too scared of you. I’ve been confronted by worse things. And besides, if I saw you were a serious threat to me, I wouldn’t have followed you.” She looked between the two curiously. “What is the ‘Sphinx’?” She quoted, trying to keep her voice down.
He sighed, shaking his head. "Now now ladies, that is no way to start a perfectly great day. As it has now becoming the morn! Can't we play nice. Besides, Stilia we could always use one more. After all, she surely has talents of her own. I know she can shape shift like I can after all." He looked at her and nodded, before turning to Cinnel.
"The Sphinx Cinnel is a mythical creature that is actually not so mythical. They do exist, and are quite intelligent actually. They are extremely strong, fast, and agile and have the capability of flying so are extremely dangerous. There has recently been one terrorizing the citizen of this area, and Stilia and myself have decided to put a stop to it's murderous rampages. Would you like to join us? If it helps, I will pay to get you a new bike to replace the one you lost." He waited her answer, excitement building in him slightly. Three was vastly superior to two, and would help immensely upon this quest.

Stilia smiled slightly when the other girl deliberately stated she was not afraid, as if trying to prove herself or something of the likes. “I am glad. There is no reason to fear me if Ca’guuror trusts you. You say you have met worse, and I do not doubt that, but do you even know of what I am?” She questioned, curious as to Cinnel’s knowledge.
Apparently it was not too vast, for the girl had never heard of the Sphinx. She waited patiently while Ca’guuror explained, and nodded. “Although I am also here to help those citizens, Ca’guuror forgot to mention that there are rumors of a prize if a Sphinx is defeated. I have no idea what it is, which is why I came. I wanted to find out.”
It might be intelligent to have another come along with them. Give them a better chance of survival against the fabled creature, although their food and water rations would be lessened. They wouldn’t have quite as long in the desert, unless Cinnel was carrying food and water on her, which Stilia doubted. She looked to Ca’guuror, than to Cinnel. “I do not care if she comes, but she should fetch rations, and quickly. I want to depart before the city becomes a hustle.”

Cinnel shrugged. “No, I don’t know what you are, and I have no reason to care.” She said to the woman. She turned to Cag. “And I appreciate the gesture to buy me a new bike, but the one I own has an extreme sentimental value to me, and no other could replace it.” The bike had been Cinnel’s uncle’s bike, before he skipped out on her. He was the father figure in her life, and she kept the bike as a reminder of what he once was.
She thought in silence for a moment. “I guess I can tag along. Maybe I can get some leads on where my bike is at.” She turned back to the woman. “And, the prize sounds interesting. I’d like to find out what it is as well.”
Cinnel stuffed her hands into her pockets. She began to walk back down the way she came. “I’ll go find some ‘rations’ for myself. I’ll be back in a few.” She said over her shoulder, quoting the woman sarcastically.
Ca'guuror groaned, placing his head in to his left hand and rubbing his temples with his thumb and index finger. He had a headache forming from the tension between these two women. Why? WHy would they instantly get to fighting? Couldn't they just get long? He looked up, seeing Cinnel walking in to town and looked at Stilia. "We shouldn't let her go alone, Stilia. We should go with her to keep her safe. As well, we could always listen around town for rumors." He sincere about all those statements. He didn't want anything to happen to either of his friends. He glanced between them, slightly torn then walked after Cinnel, sighing.
He plodded along after her in the slowly raising light, knowing sunrise was only perhaps an hour away and they should really be going by then, but he also knew that Cinnel would need some form of weapon or another as well as some food and water. Especially water. There was no telling when they would need it. Though, as all three of them where able to shapeshift in to other creatures they could always fly to where they wanted. It could potentially make for a very useful combination, for they could all do other things as well. He rolled his shoulders, almost sprouting wings just thinking about the thought of flying. It had been a long long time since he had flew and he was suddenly jonsing for it. He sighed, knowing he still had a bit to wait even if he did wish to fly. First things first after all.

That would be a mistake in Stilia’s opinion. One should try to gather as much information as they could. It aided in furthering one’s knowledge, but it was also essential to survival. If you knew what somebody was, you could easily use what you know about them against them. She just smiled slightly and shook her head, watching this stranger. She was currently rambling about some bike. Like a bicycle? Why would she ride one of those everywhere? Wouldn’t that be a little slow? She usually saw children riding them as transportation, not people Cinnel’s age. A motorized bicycle didn’t even occur to the Gorgon’s mind.
She zoned back into what the girl was saying, and noticed the sarcastic tone, and the curtness. She scowled slightly, turning to Ca’guuror. She kept her voice to a mumble, as she watched the shifter-girl leave. “Did I do something of offense to your kind? Or is she always so rude? I was trying to give her perfectly reasonable advice, as she would need food and water. So I wonder as to the presence of the- what is your word for it again? Ah, yes, bitchiness.”
She sighed as Ca’guuror told her that they should accompany the girl. They already knew about the rumours, and it was probably a simple ploy to get her to come along. She was tempted to ask if it was mandatory, but sighed again. “Fine. Let’s go.”

Cinnel walked with her head high and kept a bounce to her step with over-confidence. After a few moments, she stopped in realization that the other two were following her. Cinnel looked around in search of a store of some sort. She began to get frustrated. She didn’t know this place at all. Everything looked the same to her, but despite this, Cinnel had too much pride to ask for help. If she couldn’t figure things out alone, she was done for.
She eventually stopped walking and looked at her feet. She was lost. She kicked the ground angrily and ran her hands through her hair. Cinnel cursed out loud, and looked behind her at Cag. He was several meters away from her, and the woman not too far behind.
“Where the hell is a place to get food?” She asked, her voice shaking heavily. Tears burned her eyes and she quickly looked away.
Cag followed Cinnel slowly, giving her her personal space and shaking his head. Why was it people had to be so hard sometimes? If you didn't know an area, it didn't mean you where weak or anything. Just meant you had never been here before. He sighed, shaking his head more and glanced back at Stilia and smiled wanly at her. He then looked ahead and walked quicker to catch up with Cinnel.
When she stopped suddenly, he almost ran in to her but managed to stop just short of slamming in to her back. She looked back, asking where she could get food here and she looked on the verge of tears. Taking pity on the poor girl, Cag reached out and grabbed her hand with his left. He panted it gently with his right hand and smiled. "It is alright Cinnel. Come on....over this way." He lead her gently along towards a stand selling some food, mostly packaged meats that had been dried and salted but there where a few sandwiches and what not scattered amid the bizzare assortment of monkey meat, pickled camel's toe, and chocolate covered scorpions to name a few.
Digging in his pocket, Cag pulled out a small wad of Egyptian pounds. It may look like alot, but it really wasn't that much the way it was. But he didn't need anything so was more then ready to spend it upon Cinnel to help the girl out with her troubles.

Stilia followed silently, a bit behind Ca’guuror, the only sounds heard from her were the soft thumps of her shoes. Ca’guuror occasionally turned his head, but Stilia did not smile back. She was not in a pleasant mood, as this girl had merely irritated her. The girl in front of them seemed to almost bounce across the surface as she walked, but the bounce lessened with each and every step, until she finally came to a full and sudden stop. Stilia wondered what she was doing. This girl had been leading them down random roads, and Stilia had merely assumed that she knew of a particularly good store and was headed there.
A sudden tantrum seemed to sprout from the shifter, and she looked ready to snap somebody in two or to fall into a sobbing heap on the ground. If she was lost, why did she simply not ask them for help, instead of going straight to her breaking point? Not a very wise thing. But the sympathetic Ca’guuror instantly rushed over, taking her hand and guiding her, probably saying words of comfort to the child. Stilia was starting to regret agreeing that cannel could come along, and hoped cannel and herself would use better common sense when- if- they found the Sphinx.
She waited in the background as Ca’guuror picked and bought some food for Cinnel. Stilia sighed. The markets were already open? It meant they had taken too much time. They should have left when they had planned to go, not spend an hour trudging after a stubborn girl and then comforting her as she cried! Cinnel would get them killed if she kept acting like this!

Cinnel jerked her arm back after Cag took her hand. She wasn’t used to sympathy, and she wasn’t going to start now. She scowled at Cag and followed him to the stand, viciously wiping her eyes. A small breeze had begun to blow, and caused more eye rubbing for Cinnel. She hated this place already. All she wanted was her motorcycle… But her curiosity had enticed her to come along on this treasure hunt. Cinnel made a face as they neared the shop. They place stunk terribly of sweat and body odor, not only that but the heat from the desert was annoying, along with the sand.
Cinnel looked at the goods, and felt her stomach drop. Everything here, although edible, made her feel like vomiting. How could people eat stuff like that? Cinnel could manage a mushroom or two, depending on how hungry she was. But monkey meat? Chocolate covered scorpions? That was just crossing the line.
