"It's absurd to think a child knows of necessity and motive" Fey said pointedly as she Shot Forgery a glance so shallow it seemed to be pulled back into the infinite red eyes Locutus fixed upon her. "The child presumes to be right, the child has no concept of the future as their well of experience is so empty it's impossible to gauge distance." The elemental laughed slightly as if she thought Forgery were stupid, but that was not the reality of the joke. It was cute to her that she stood here opposed to the greatest figure in her life, jesting as was his game. "He'd make a terrible mother." Fey spoke softly now to Locutus as if Forgery couldn't hear her, but she knew well he could.
The back corners of Fey's mind played at how lovely a hot bath would be after this choice of clear insanity, then stopped to muse that her solution to being drenched through and through by the rain was more water. This finally lead to her conclusion that perhaps she didn't hate being soaked, merely cold.
After running dry her responses to the Lie itself she considered Nature's words, it was a more important game to her at the moment considering its rarity. A short time's deep consideration saw her open her mouth. "I've never let go of my own belief in freedom." She started dismissively as if it weren't possible she could forget it. "What I'd like to believe though... Is that this world is wrong to dismiss you. That I've been right to know any of you by a name or circle of influence. Right to trust you did have a reason I, in my pitifully short life cannot comprehend." Fey paused their to consider her phrasing as if it were a bishop she slid to 'check' White's King, hoping to find it an amusing play if not an effective one.

Forgery continued sitting with a smirk. "You made my point exactly, female. Just because you think we did wrong by you doesn't mean we weren't doing something that ultimately saved your life... and the rest of this planet. The fact is that it is almost impossible for any mortal to ever find out why we took leave for so long. You'll never know fully what happened. As for whether or not the world was wrong to dismiss us, yes, they were right to dismiss us. We weren't around, so for that period of time, they didn't need to be wary. Now, however, those who dismiss us will probably find themselves greatly in err. Your trusting in us was futile, at least according to the past few centuries' experience. It was by Chance that you were alive when we returned. It was Luck alone that your learning of us and memorizing actually WAS useful."

The wolf actually visibly arcs a brow at the woman's comment about Forgery. "Yes, He would not be my first choice for a mother either."
Suddenly there would be a forboding lul in the storm. The rain would come to an almost immediate and complete stop as the wind howls around through the various alleys and streets. All that is left is the flashes of light and the rolling thunder that accompanied one of them here and there. It all made for an eerie silence as the three parties would gaze at one another. The wolf seemed oddly complacent, as if there wasn't a raging storm about them.
"You are truly like a fire. Unpredictable and wild. Not one to be contained. But like a fire if you burn to quickly... to brightly... you will sufficate under it all and you will burn out."The wolf trails off, letting her take in that short verse as he now gazed on her quietly, curious as to how she'd react to it. It had been awhile since he had a chance to talk to people on this level with someone. Ever since those days.....
"I agreed with your statement but made my own point." Fey complained halfheartedly, as if she really didn't quite care whether or not she won the trade. "I meant to say it's pretty obvious I can't know, calling me out on it is almost like an infinitely old, theoretically all powerful being calling out a mortal." She said it straight faced as if it were a witty analogy to be reflected upon. Her face complicated as she thought through the next portion. It didn't seem so much she was confused as equal parts shocked and amused.
"Maybe the humor is lost on you but I don't believe luck has any part of this" She smiled, also pleased to have inadvertently offered another facet of this persona to Locutus.
The chill of the world was enough to be described as heavy, the winds like knives. It was a futility, but she fought down her shivering as best she could, sure they'd notice but that wasn't what she was trying to convey. It was something more meaningless then that, extra pieces to the current her, showing this conversation was more important to her, and that perhaps she was one that didn't trouble others about being uncomfortable.
Fey's sharp smile dulled to a near melancholy hearing Locutus' new evaluation of her. "I might have heard something like that before..." She rekindled the smile as if she'd accidentally let a guard fall.
Of all the expressions she didn't show, this she hid the best of all. She felt almost threatened by the Wolf's ability to draw truths from her, a small feeling overshadowed by the curiosity of her score, but one that was present, there is only so closely you can quote a person before it ceases to be coincidence. Of course he'd raise these thoughts the second she'd played her 'I don't believe in luck' line. Her smile was a cheap gambit, one meant to reinforce his play. If Nature had known enough to calculate that last move then she'd already lost regardless. If not though, it would function to reassure him of the rest of her story, a clear truth to lure him farther into the lie.

Forgery shook his head at the woman. "Luck has certainly been a factor, though perhaps not quite the way you think of Luck. Same with Chance." Suddenly, her smile - a smirking, smart ass of a thing - vanished from her face and she looked almost forlorn as she spoke. Why? What had Locutus just said?
"You are truly like a fire. Unpredictable and wild. Not one to be contained. But like a fire if you burn too quickly... too brightly... you will suffocate under it all and you will burn out."
That was what he'd said. Like a fire. Well she certainly wasn't Human. Forgery cheated.
Fire Elemental. She is quite like them, isn't she? Probably not very comfortable in this rain. Forgery very discreetly stood up and snapped his fingers. A gazebo suddenly popped up around them. Better? Forgery asked wordlessly, observing her reaction to see if she seemed relieved, as he guessed.

The sudden drop in her smile caught the wolf's eye. The result was a flash of interest, almost literally visible in the wolf's eyes. "X marks the spot right?", he thought to himself. He laughed inwardly as the woman slowly became unwound. Secrets she obviously cared enough to keep hidden even if futilely. She had to know that if they truly wanted to they could see through it all. Well he wasn't quite ready to do that.
Some of his fellow deities would define Locutus as... odd. They would not understand why he chose to have such a "serious" conversation with a mortal of all things. Why he'd allow himself to be questioned, why he'd answer the questioning. The would never understand his reasoning, nor did he care to explain to them.
"Perhaps it is because it's an accurate observation? But then we all know better then don't we? For all your struggles Fey you can't hide from it. You cannot even convince yourself, how then can you hope to convince someone else?"
Then the gazebo came. The wolf let out a sigh and his expression became pointed. At first it might have appeared that Fey had set him off some how, given he was still gazing at her. But then he'd turn his head slowly to gaze at Forgery, a slow blink causing his eyes to close for a short moment before opening again. A loud CRACK filled the air as a bolt of lightning again traced through the sky. Then the world was plunged into darkness as it died away, the sky silenced before the rumbling boom of the thunder shook the very ground.
Then silence.....
Even the sound of the wind died down. The rain was now too far gone to even hear that. However no birds would sing, no crickets would chirp. The sky remained black. The storm was obviously still very much upon them, but it produced an eerie silence. Now if at all possible, all one would hear is the drops of water falling from various objects.
Given the lack of any form of illumination it was obvious power was out in town. No lights functioned and no Moonlight lit up the sky. Darkness and silence. If the storm had been haunting before, the silence now was surely deafening....
Luck was a strange machination, Fey didn't truly deny its involvement in these workings, such would be foolish. All outcomes hinge on the cogs and gears that turn with them and she was not one that could predict their turning. Others worshiped, followed, and ridiculed gods without seeing even an obscure sign from them yet here she was.
So she ignored Forgery's rightful insistence there was luck involved she stayed within Locutus' eyes, it wasn't possible for her to tell if they were more intent than before.
It took a moment, a slow thick moment the likes of one that you could pick up and examine without it losing its shape before Fey realized what weight had left her shoulders. So accustomed to the oppressive storm of tiny impacts it shocked her when Forgery's demonstration of power all at once removed the sky's siege from atop of her. For an instant she was worried when Locutus' held such an expression but it's direction became quickly clear. There was some wonder as to how Nature perceived this exchange, the only conclusion drawn was that he did not enjoy Deception's presence. Other sub-thoughts ran from her like the remainder of the rain from her crimson hair, ones that tried to puzzle Forgery's play with theories, running from trying to trip her up, to actually trying to accommodate her comfort but she had no way to truly know and didn't see anything to gain from it, it was inevitable that any lie would unfold between two perspectives, especially those of a deity. Perhaps her interest in this game was to see how well she could do.
The Fire nodded a wordless thanks that didn't do the gesture quite enough justice, it was sincere, but cautious.
"Perhaps it is because it's an accurate observation? But then we all know better then don't we? For all your struggles Fey you can't hide from it. You cannot even convince yourself, how then can you hope to convince someone else?"
Fey considered that sentence, she considered it very thoroughly. This is not to be misunderstood as a time she pondered for that was barely even present. What is to note is the intensity she mused through this play. Fey had no clue if they could see the animation inside her mind as it physically assessed everything that passed through or if they were playing by mortal rules that saw only a straight expression with a dim smile.
There were many cards she could play here but none of them called to her specifically, this question was aggressive, at base level it attacked her ability to lie, to tell, to move other. Not only that it attacked her being, suggesting she was empty and filled herself with falsehood to compensate. Fey considered that it was designed for her interpretation, maybe the Wolf wanted to know what she couldn't convince herself.
"Without hope we have nothing." As seconds had drawn on she felt even worse for the air that threatened to freeze her to her core. As if mimicking Forgery a second time she snapped her own fingers to bring a burning golden light to bear before her. Flickering around as its origin danced slowly downward, the pulsating waves of warm flame were soothing at their absolute minimum, each trailing arm of flame an inviting caress to her quivering body. It was a singularity that defied everything around them, light in the darkness, warmth in the cold, tangerine glowing amidst the azure. "It has many shapes but they are all exclusively responsible for the mortal condition. If we lived by any other path the only certainty is how insignificant and devoid of meaning we are." Fey dispelled the attack, she felt there was very little she couldn't convince herself, moreover the truth would have more closely resembled an explanation that Fey didn't believe convincing yourself was remotely related to convincing others but in a sort of 'philosophy made up on the spot' sort of way, Fey did believe hope was of great importance.
"Hope is always there, even if it's as faint as a wish or as fleeting as a dream. No condition, certainly not denial can alter that. In fact it's quite the opposite. The fact one denies means they have something that they hope for, or maybe against in this case." Fey flirted with the fire as she spoke, letting it close but pushing it away when it presumed to much of her, when it sought her flesh with its teeth.
Notes: Hopefully (haha, see what I accidentally did there?) that's more coherent then i think as I'm crazy and can't think right now.

Forgery stretched his mouth in a bored yawn. This was nothing entertaining at all. Locutus and... Fey. (She thinks of herself as Fey) were talking about nothing that involved forward progress. A philosophical conversation was good and all, but only if it served some purpose - such as persuading another to agree with your philosophy. That didn't seem to be the goal here. It seemed they were holding a conversation purely for the sake of conversation. An utter waste of time. Forgery mentally scowled. Fey seemed pleased that the gazebo had been produced and furthered the fight against Nature's storm by creating a bit of a fire. It didn't look like it would be very effective in keeping her warm. Because of this, Forgery created a relatively large bonfire in the middle of the gazebo and thick curtains unrolled down all but one side of the gazebo, blocking out any wind that might have come in and keep the warmth of the fire in. He sighed. It was so unproductive, this meeting and conversation. Maybe he should have stayed and talked with Jinx instead of following Locutus. It was absolutely fun to piss the God of Nature off, but that could only entertain one for so long...
Maybe he should just read her mind for fun. Or scare her. Or make her see something awesome briefly. No real long-term fun options were available to him. Besides, Ishtara needed to be dealt with. This was a waste of time. He bowed deeply, back and legs completely rigid as his head was carried to almost kiss the ground. He rose from his bow, eyes on the woman as he stated, "Well, I have better things to do and time is short, even for those of our standing. If you've nothing to say to me, I'll be taking my leave."

The wolf tilted his head looking at Fey with what could be taken for that grin of his. His eyes twinkled with an almost amused expression about them.
"Ah, the ever familiar phrase. "There is always hope." True perhaps. But the fact that you believe in it says two things. One, That you obviously do believe that despite all odds, there's still a chance. Luck. An aspect of Luck my dear girl. So you say you truly do not believe in luck, but here you go chalking something up to hope that in the face of all doubt there is still a possibility. Two....I recall you saying you do not have the power to stop the truest evils. You do not believe you have the power to do so? What about "There is always hope"? One and one do not make eleven Fey. You and I both know that."
The wolf challenged her with his eyes as he one by one picked out her inconsistencies. There were so many ways he could take but he decided to see if she would be easily cornered. It was similar to a game of chess. On occasion one had to test an opponents defences before making any real move.
He then turned to Forgery and gazed at him once more. This time it was not irritation but pure pity, as if he felt sorry for the god for something. Those red orbs were penetrating, god or not, as if he could see through to his core. Whether he could or not was debatable, but that didn't change that deep gaze.
"One has to wonder, Forgery. You are the master of deception, trickery.... lies.... Is that all your intelligence is too? Another lie? You play a game older than yourself. " It was a bold move for sure, a direct aimed blow to the gods intelligence and to a lesser extent age. He was not too far from calling the fellow deity some young foolish punk. But he was far more elegant than a simple jab. His eyes retained the pity, no hint of a mirthful gleam to indicate if he was simply having fun with the fellow god or not.
"Though if you must leave don't let me keep you. By all means do what you do best and disappear."
With the two daring blows out of the way he looked back to Fey, waiting to see the product of the two divergent statements. Perhaps a three way game of chess where only one could win, a tricky situation indeed as you had to look out on both sides of you.
Fey looked through Locutus, as if she were really examining a board of pieces, face resting frustratedly on her hand.
"I promise you had the other 9 in my head somewhere!" She said insistently as if it made her surrender easier somehow. "I was 'trying' to play Hope and Luck as two different aspects but I can't be bothered to think up better logic for that then yours in this dreadful weather!" Fey complained, her persona crumbling to the ground around her as she neglected to maintain it. "Probably something about hope leaning farther towards something like fate, the insistence on the 'correct' path being completely unrelated to probability. Hope's also a meta factor that applies itself for all parties where luck is a physical one that is universal." The Elemental tossed her cards onto the board interested to see if persistence would have been worth it in the end.
"I... Hope the world doesn't end in abrupt flash at this very moment!" She paused to let the rediculous statement sink in "Luck's on my side there, but what of some nihilist force that 'hopes they will succeed in this very thing'? the very same luck is against them. Different dynamics!" She said in a jumble with a bit of excitement, though it could have just been how cold she was even with the wonderful fire that she had been getting even closer to.
"Good game though" Fey smirked now, a different thing than before, not gleaming or polished. It was perhaps her own, a sort of playful thing like a child with a joke. "Sorry Forgery" She bowed respectfully to the impatient figure, her wet hair thrown into her face by the sudden gesture "You caught me in the middle of something, I couldn't just let Nature beat me, I had to see how far it would go."
Fey hopped a cautious bit closer to Deception "Thanks for showing up though. It's a treat to finally meet you m'lord." The over-romantic phrasing stirred a deep laughter inside of her even if it didn't manage to escape her lips.
"I expect I'll see you another time." 'Expect' didn't seem to do her phrase justice, the insistence in her words leaned closer to a prophecy. One spoken with her back freshly turned to Forgery as she shuffled back to the fire, reassuming contact with Locutus. "Will you be off as well or do you intend to stay?" Fey inquired politely.

Forgery chuckled at Nature's attempted jab. "For a long time I looked around at the Void and saw little else. Because there always has been Deception, but suddenly, along came a puppy of Nature and he, like the young child of the parable I told, does not understand his infinitely wiser elders. As with the child's parable, the young one does not understand. Let alone realize that the parable was told in regards to him, not those of this land. The people of this land understand they are not Deities and grant respect to those who earn it. Their existence is a vicious cycle and always has been. The tale was told as warning to those who did recognize their foolhardiness."
Forgery turned towards the Fire Elemental and raised an eyebrow. “M’Lord?” He chuckled. “I’m surprised you still had such studies and memories. Most consider polytheism to be… outdated.” Shrugging, he lit a somehow-dry apple black and mild and shot a glance at Locutus – the smart-mouthed pup. He thought with that typical smirk.

The wolf tilted it's head and gave Forgery that pity filled look he had donned earlier, then raises his bushy brows in a skeptical look. His eyes twinkled in the flame in the center of the structure causing the red in them to glow vibrantly.
At length the fire would gain his attention, the wolf turning his head towards the flame as it burned. Images danced in his mind as a memory played back within. He stood motionless as the fire provided perhaps the only noise for the moment. After a long silence, from him at least, he slowly closed his eyes.
Suddenly a reminder of the raging storm streaked through the air. A brilliant bolt of lightning struck a nearby tree without warning, sending splinters flying in all direction. Some flew with enough force to embed themselves within the gazebo. The tree itself burst aflame. What little remained after the bolt subsided was now scattered along the ground. The wind suddenly picked up with enough force to whip through the gazebo, kicking up the flames and sending hot embars onto the wood where they'd catch alight in tiny fires.
The sudden events drew the wolf's eyes open slowly. He chuckled at length. Words came to his mind and he looked back to the fellow deity. "Perhaps not.... not now at any rate."
"Of course I deferr to your judgement Forgery..."He left it at that and turned his head back to Fey. Of course inwardly he was chuckling and and rolling his eyes, but he had no desire to play into the other deity's gambit as had the other done his.
"Ah, unlike my....dear friend here, I am not so in a rush to be off. Perhaps he left his stove on.... No, for the moment, I shall be staying. I have no where I wish to be at the moment. Least not more than I wish to be here presently."The wolf chuckled at that, this time audibly as he shook his head. He left anything else unaddressed, waiting now to see what would become of the situation, if Forgery indeed chose to leave or not. Every now and then he'd turn his eyes towards the fellow being and debate saying something, though it amused him far more not to.
