Varos has a very symmetrical look, giving her a strange, unearthly beauty. Her favorite form has grey eyes and red hair. She usually seems quite calm, with the shadow of a smile on her lips and a hint of a frown around her eyes.

A voice, vibrant and bright, echoed through the minds of many. The voice, despite not having a physical appearance, would make everything seem a bit brighter to the listener. However, it was weak, life slowly ebbing from it.
“Do not be afraid.” Said the voice. “I am Nysa, a being of Life and Light, and I mean no harm. I need help, please. I am trapped, in a faraway land, but I could bring you here. Help me, please, and I will give you something wonderful in return. Will you? Please?”
To those whom answered with Yes, or anything vaguely similar to the word, the brightness would increase. It would be blinding, the light soon becoming the only thing they could see, making their surroundings disappear. A feeling of weightlessness would overcome them, as if they were flying. But suddenly, it all stopped. Sudden darkness came over them, and they could feel themselves falling to the ground. A small light would appear, coming from ahead. They were in the mouth of a cave, and the moon shone at its entrance.
The voice returned, fainter than before. “I-I am sorry. It was too much. I couldn’t bring you all to me. But I managed part way. There should be a port....”
The voice faded, too weak to continue.
Varos Talantos, from her home in Shangri-la, had witnessed the event transpire. She knew where the poor souls had landed; in the mountains of the Khyper-Diorem. She did not dare wander that far from Shangri-la, as there were things that could rival Gods themselves out there. And many were just waiting for a chance to kill a Deity. However, despite the fact she could not meet them, she could not sit idly either as they got lost and slaughtered. Putting her hand in the air, a light shot into the sky. Brighter than any star, it rivaled the moon in beauty. It hung above the Library, across the orange plains, at least a week’s walk from the mountains. It would be their guiding star, shining day and night. She hoped for the best...

Golden light crept into the room as the morning sunlight peaked out from behind a passing cloud. The rays raced along the floor until they reached the foot of a bed which they climbed up effortlessly and sprawled out over that comfortable-looking quilt. Finally they fell upon the sleeping form of the figure hidden beneath the quilt. Fiery red orange light exploded against the far nightstand as the golden rays of sunlight passed through equally fiery crimson locks of hair. The sudden light and warmth caused the sleeping figure to stir, drawing a drowsy moan of someone not quite ready to wake up yet. Still, a brilliant green disk punctuated by a small pitch black pupil came into view as a single eye opened. The disk rotated upward until it aligned with the alarm clock upon the stand. A disgruntled groan escaped from the woman as she realized the time and figured she had best get herself out of bed. Lately Katrina had been letting herself sleep in, having no real reason to get up at the break of dawn. Now it was after eight, and probably well past time for her to get her butt into the shower.
The covers were tossed aside and the redhead quickly righted herself in bed, planting her feet on the ground below. She paused to reach up and rub at the back of her head, further messing up her already disheveled hair. After a quick second glance towards the clock, Katrina sighed and pushed herself to her feet before wandering lazily towards her bathroom. A good half hour later, a clean more bright-eyed looking Katrina emerged and made her way back towards the bedroom. The usual morning routine ensued with her dressing in her usual fatigues before making her way out of the bedroom. Towards the front door she picked up the morning paper before backtracking into the Kitchen. A bowl of cereal was poured and the woman sat down to enjoy it while skimming through the paper for anything interesting. More often than not the paper would go without a single article actually being read, but sometimes there was something that caught her attention. She felt it was better than wasting her time watching the news on television most of the time, so it was worth the investment to her. After finishing her breakfast, Katrina washed the bowl and spoon, returning them to their respective storage locations before she exited the kitchen and made her way into the living room. There, Katrina would grab up her CD player before once again making her way to front door.
Katrina stepped outside and smiled. It looked to be the start of a wonderful day. The sun was out, there were few clouds in the sky. There was the faintest touch of wind, the birds were singing, and there was the faint sounds of a suburban city district warming up for the day. The woman loved listening to small town America waking up. After taking a few moments to enjoy the beautiful morning, Katrina continued her morning routine with a half mile jog around town. The trip would be uneventful and for the most part routine. Katrina would stop to smell the flowers at the local flower shop, pick up a light snack at one of the food stalls, and pick up something for lunch later. On her way home however, Katrina's mind wandered to a different place than usual.
For the past year almost, Katrina had been making use of her time doing various jobs for military and other organizations. Recently she'd gone on a conference and since her return had taken up her usual work as a part time employee with Game and Fish. This still left her with a lot of free time that wasn't occupied with much. She had no social life to speak of. She had no regrets about not socializing with people, but it did leave a large window that she wanted to fill with something besides idling at home. Perhaps it was time to start thinking of another full time job.
As Katrina walked back into her home, she had decided to take inventory. After a few minutes of running around her home, the woman had collected all of the military gear she had that she was allowed to walk off base with. This included her uniform, her vest, her personally paid for stock of medical supplies in her pack, and her radio. Along with that, she had the things she owned personally, which were her HK417 and her two sidearms. After sorting it all out on her bed, Katrina began once more to debate what she would do with it. Was it time to turn it all back in and move on, or was now a good time to try and get back into the field if the US Army would let her?
The decision would end up having to wait however, as her thoughts were soon cut off by a sudden voice. The young medic whipped around, trying to find the source of the voice within her home. To her dismay, the woman realized she was still alone. She heard a voice, but it had no source. The voice continued, and Katrina found it strangely calming. It was like a warm and inviting.. but it also felt distressed. Supposedly the voice came from a far away land, but how could that be? The voice was asking for help however, and as a medic it was Katrina's duty to at least try to assist, even if she thought she was going mental and hearing voices in her head. "O--Okay?" Katrina stated out loud to no one in particular. She expected someone to pop out and say something perhaps, but instead the light just got brighter.
This put a sense of urgency to Katrina's actions and she dove towards her bed, collecting up her medical bag and slipping it over her shoulders. She then grabbed her rifle and slung it over one shoulder before grabbing up both handguns. She barely had time to grab her vest, uniform coat, and the bandolier of extra magazines before she was suddenly not where she was anymore.
Katrina landed in a disorganized pile on at the mouth of a cave. Doe-like eyes blinked rapidly and her head spun as she looked at her surroundings. Her mouth opened and closed as though to say something, but between not knowing what to say, or having anyone to exactly say it to at the moment, nothing came out.
Katrina looked around for a few more moments before realizing the disheveled mess she was dropped in. She quickly slid her pack and rifle from her back and pulled her uniform top over her black t-shirt. After closing it up and tucking the bottom underneath the waistband of her pants, Katrina pulled her armored vest over her and secured it in place. It was about this time that another person ended up showing up, which caused her to pause for a fraction of a moment. She quickly pulled her medical pack over her shoulders and scooped up her rifle, turning in the direction of this newcomer. She didn't point the rifle at this new person, but kept it in such a manner that she could bring it to bear if they attempted to attack her.
It was at this point that Katrina noticed the unusually bright light in the sky. She gazed at it while keeping the new figure within her peripheral vision. The woman swallowed before speaking to the new arrival. "Do you know where we are?"

Tick Tock. Tick Tock. The clock speaks in a rhythm. While its pendulum moves back and forth in symphonic motion.
"WHY YOU!"
Every once in a while he would hear the sound of that screech out of a mans mouth. The man would then meet a part of Marcus limbs as the ticking continued.
Tick Tock Tick Tock.
Marcus didn't know why he was fascinated by the ticking. Maybe it is because the ticking was all he heard for the past several hours now. Just nothing but the click of two gears stopping all of a sudden every time it was marked as a second. Another sound of yelling momentarily disrupted Marcus ticking; this time a yell of pain, last time a yell of anger, and the other time a yell of fear. But most of the time space was filled with a tick tock tick tock.
Soon Marcus ticking stop and finally replaced itself with a warm voice. A voice that was soothing to some and glee fulfilling to others. For Marcus, it was soothing and destroyed his sense to tick. “Do not be afraid.” She said. “I am Nysa, a being of Life and Light, and I mean no harm. I need help, please. I am trapped, in a faraway land, but I could bring you here. Help me, please, and I will give you something wonderful in return. Will you? Please?”
He looked around his environment and noted the bruised bodies on the wall and floor. He was in a shop full of old antiques and the owner of the shop was not here. He remembered that he was hired to take care a couple of baddies the owner was in debt with but all that followed was the ticking. That damn ticking. Taking a deep sigh he turned around to see where the voice came from. He realized no female rested in the shop then turned his head to the ceiling and thought if the ticking made him bat shit crazy. "Maybe..." He said wondering what would happen if he said yes.
His answer to his wonderment was soon realized as the room suddenly vanished and the air surrounded him. He could feel his intestines trying to catch up with the rest of his figure as the world around him turned dark. As quick as he was flying he was falling to the ground at increasing speed. Soon a light showed, blinding his eyes and forcing him to cover his pupils with his fingers. The light had no heat to it and it felt almost as though it was not real, although the closer he got the brighter it shined. Just when he thought he was finally descending to the underworld, the earth around him suddenly reappeared again, or at least he thought it was the earth, as he would be standing inside the mouth of a cave.
His legs where weak and he fell from the first step he took. It was not explainable but his legs were numb only for a short moment. He picked up his body quickly moving towards the opening of the cave. The first thing to come to his view was a stunning red head with too many weapons on her body. She seemed more prepared for war than anyone he ever noticed in his life. She turned to him, maybe expecting him to say something or explain what the hell was going on, but sadly Marcus had no clue. Instead he moved towards the wall of the cave, completely ignoring the woman's existence, and waited for 'Nysa,' as she said her name was, to speak to him once again. He leaned on the wall with his arms folded and his eyes steadied on the woman and her weapons. His Katana blade was on his back, making it a little difficult to lean right, and his shurikens was in his blue coat pocket near his chest area, where his hands seemed to rest. He was ready for any altercation that where to occur and was planning his exit.
After a while of waiting some others had showed their pretty little heads and the 'Nysa' finally spoke again. “I-I am sorry. It was too much. I couldn’t bring you all to me. But I managed part way. There should be a port....”
'A what?' He thought to himself hoping that the female would answer him. 'I don't hear an ocean anywhere near here! What the hell do you mean?' He waited until she responded but nothing came. 'Damn.' A great light then flashed in the sky, maybe guiding to the port where Nysa was talking about. The red head female before spoke first and once again Marcus stayed silent paying no mind to her. He would let the others focus on making conversations while he would think as to what the hell is going on.
Alex sighs while on her motorcycle, a Kawasaki Ninja with a black finish and pink trim. She didn't put on her riding suit today, it was nice out and only a short trip to the grocery store which she was just returning from. A simple black T-shirt and bellbottom denim jeans suited her just fine. Alex closes her eyes a moment to smell and take in the desert monsoon air. Just to be interrupted by the light turning green, forcing her to resume the trip home.
Alex pulls up to her apartment complex, taking her parking spot near her apartment. She'd hope off the motorcycle after turning it off and kicking the stand down. Giving the motorcycle a gentle pat, Alex would open one of the side bags on her bike to pull out a paper bag of groceries and begins to fumble with her keys while making her way to her appartment. She years some tiny barks by her feet and looks down at the small fleet of chihuahuas before her. She'd bark back them and stomp her foot, forcing them to scatter so she may finally get by and slip in her residence.
After locking the door and tossing the keys on the table, she makes her way to the counter, not bothering to tack off her satchel. She pauses part way when she hears a voice in her head. The apartment and everything inside it seems to grow bright around her. Alex squints a moment and then closes her eyes while clutching the groceries still, "yes?" She responds to the voice, more in question than an answer. Almost after she said anything the world seem to grow brighter and she could almost swear she was flying, a weightless sensation she hadn't felt since getting thrown out her helicopter in Afghanistan... Where she ran into that... Demon?
The thought leaves her as she feels herself land and the brightness fading. She looks around what appears to be a cave? Taking a few steps before tripping on a small rock emitting a loud squeak as she fell announcing her presence to everyone nearby. She'd hear the goddess speak in her head again while trying to gather herself,"a port? Wha... Where...?" The words escaping her as she hears other voices outside her head, falling silent. Trying to regather her senses and piece together what just happened.

It was a blissfully quiet night, or morning... Or mid-afternoon, perhaps. The room was pitch black, like a sea of shadows trapped in a box, and the clock on the nightstand was unplugged, leaving no visible means to tell the time, save opening the shades that covered the windows. The room was a strange assortment of interesting items, though, it meant nothing since hardly anyone would be able to properly see them in the dark room. Sleeping upon the king size mattress placed upon a magnificent frame, with canopy, lay a man half-covered by his silk sheets. Of course, describing his lithe, muscled body, would be pointless; since, in the light deprived room, his body, which looked as though it had been perfectly chiseled by the gods themselves, was indistinguishable as but one of a mass of shadows. The male was comfortably resting after a hard day of gruesome training in Japan, in a lull between sleep and consciousness, when his slumber was disturbed by an inconsistency; a female's voice speaking out to him and drawing him into a semi-awakened state, where his brain was not properly aware of everything going on, and a small part of it was left thinking he might still be in a dream.
“Do not be afraid.” Said the voice, which gave off a feeling of pleasantness and purity, “I am Nysa, a being of Life and Light, and I mean no harm. I need help, please. I am trapped, in a faraway land, but I could bring you here. Help me, please, and I will give you something wonderful in return. Will you? Please?”
As the voice spoke out to the male, his half-opened lids were assaulted by a bright light that made him almost fall off the side of his bed as he violently tried to turn away from it. Still groggy, and annoyed at being awoken, he had to refrain from unleashing a few choice words at the voice that he suspected to be a goddess. However, do to his sense of duty and adventure, coupled with him not being able to refuse a helpless female in need, he mumbled an exasperated "Sure, why not," and sat up on the edge of his bed, the increased brightness of the room still bothering, and slightly disorientating him, as he spoke to the disembodied voice once more while thinking on what he had to do to get ready, "Gimme a sec, th..."
The man never got a chance to finish, or even put on a shirt {or sock, shoes, and shades, for that matter}, before the mildly annoying brightness intensified to blinding levels, completely getting rid of his surroundings as he felt himself go weightless. He then felt as though his weightless body was being tugged through space, but he wasn't too phased by the situation, since he had been summoned to a realm besides his own twice before, and the journey was quite similar to simple teleportation. However, he did not notice any difference, and did not make the effort to distinguish between which mode of transport he was being forced to travel.
As he was dropped off at his unknown destination, the first thing he noticed was that he was in a cave. The second thing the man took note of was that he was not the only person in the cave; two others seemed to have been transported before him, and he figured more would come. The third thing that came across to him as he looked toward the entrance of the cave, where he had found the other two, was that it was night wherever they were. As he made mental notes of all this, he spoke aloud, now fully awakened thanks to the trip, "Fucking gods, flinging people about however they want. And in their pants only, no less." Now in unfamiliar territory, the man made a mental list of what items he had that would be useful for him in case the situation were to get dangerous. He had, thankfully, not cared to take his belt, made completely of thin steel, off before going to sleep. Also, he still had his steel bracelets on, going from his wrists to mid-forearm on both arms. This was it, but it was enough for him to protect himself, whether offensively or defensively. Now that that matter was in order, the man conjured an apple into his bare right palm, his nimble digits wrapping about it as he brought the fruit to his mouth while making his way over to the other two who were already here, careful not to trip on any of the rocks on the ground that were quite visible to his unique eyes.
Drawing close to the two, the disembodied voice spoke once more, in a very faint tone, saying, “I-I am sorry. It was too much. I couldn’t bring you all to me. But I managed part way. There should be a port....” At the words, Kyrian threw a glance over his shoulder and noticed more figures had appeared quite close to the mouth of the cave, where he now stood with the first two.
The other male looked as though he were thinking pretty hard about something, while the fiery headed female seemed wary of his presence before looking out to the skyline, where an incredibly bright light illuminated the ground for miles. The bare-breasted man barely registered the redheaded female asking if their destination was known as he payed attention to the view of their new landscape, aided by the mysterious light. He noticed a that they were in a mountain range, though a closer to the edge than the interior, however he did think he saw a white figure off in the distance, ahead and to their right. He definitely took notice of, barely in his viewing limits, what looked like a lake, and, most definitely, the strangest of these sights... A plains, full of orange grass. Kyrian spoke aloud, partially in answer to the female's question. "Fuck my life," he said with a voice full of despair, "The Khyper-Diorem."
The male took another look at the light, part resentful, part worried, and part excited at the chance for adventure. He stepped back in from the mouth of the cave and looked over the others who had been placed in this position, taking a bite out of his apple and seeing how they would react before he would choose to address them.

Katrina blinked a couple of times as her question went ignored by the first arrival. She watched the man warily for a few more moments before she let it hang by it's sling. She slowly tore her eyes away to find places to secure her two side arms. She tucked the Five-seveN away first, keeping the 1911 out a little longer. The redhead ran her thumb over the grip of the pistol as she thought about the weapon and how she acquired it before she stowed it away as well.
Katrina almost jumped as a pair of voices came from behind her. One, a female-- Katrina went wide eyed as she looked at the woman. Although brief, Katrina remembered having run into the woman once before. At the time she didn't think anything of it, but now she began to wonder if there was a lot more to know about this woman. She watched the woman with disbelief for a few more moments before her eyes turned towards the man and instantly she wished they hadn't. Although she didn't avert her eyes, a faint blush came to Katrina's cheeks as she noted his lack of shirt and instantly wondered why he didn't have one. The immediate answer was enough to make her self aware, and realize the situation and blush. His words were an excellently timed distraction, allowing her to break free without seeming like she realized she was nearly staring. "I'm sorry, the what?" She had admittedly never heard of the name he mentioned, though this place, upon glance, was not like any place she had ever seen.
The woman grabbed her rifle again and pulled the charging handle back to chamber a round before turning it to the side. Being in an unfamiliar location in the middle of what, for all she knew could have been an unfamiliar place in the Middle-East again, and surrounded by people she didn't know, were enough to put the medic on edge. She edged a little more out of the mouth of the cave and looked over the land. She recalled what the voice said after landing, and looked over the others around her. She then looked into the dark depths of the cave before looking back out over the land again. A faint gulp escaped her before she took a deep breath and let it out. "So uh, forgive me for stating the obvious, but I gather we were all brought-- here somehow for the same reason. I've never heard of this place, but we clearly didn't land where we were supposed to. We should probably work something out quickly, I hate to think of what's inside this cave. I propose we take stock of what we've got and move on. I suppose that light is meant to guide us somewhere. I'm sure it sounds silly, but I guess it's a good a direction as any to go in, unless anyone has any other ideas. I'm an okay shot with my rifle and I have a couple sidearms. Other than that I'm pretty good at treating injuries." She paused to give a shrug. "Afraid that's all I have to offer."
After she finished speaking she was quick to quiet down and move off to the side. It was a bold suggestion but she wanted to say it quick and get a decision made as fast as possible. Sitting in the mouth of this cave was making her uncomfortable on a growing level. She didn't see anything inside of it presently, but something about it unsettled her and made her feel that the quicker they got moving the better. Her eye caught the half-naked man and she decided to clear her throat once more before asking in a more direct voice. "Do you-- uh, want a shirt or something?"

Well two others knew how to make their presence known. One fell on her flat butt and the other cursed his butt off. Marcus would have made a chuckle and teased the both of them but now wasn't a time for one of his mind games. So far all he knew was that he was taken from another land and forced into an unknown area. He had to work with these people to free a woman from an area where the light shined. Marcus got up from his wall and moved over to take a look of the area the same time the first fiery haired female did.
It was an odd area to be in. Orange flowers and one pond. From far away he could see an extremely high wall that stretched so far up that he could have sworn it could have touched the moon if it wanted to. "Kyhper-Diorem you said?" Marcus spoke to the shirtless, shoeless, weaponless, seemingly homeless man. "Where the hell is that on Earth?" He asked the male specifically since he seemed to be here before. If they where close to a city then he could just fly away and never see this group again. Although his mind went blank when he noticed something weird pop out of the trees down below. A monster with...Quivers? His thoughts focused on that drowning out everything else that was being said to him.
Blushes slightly after her small spill. She gathers herself and approaches the rest of the group, "Khyper D- huh?" she'd ask not so glamously. She takes another moment to look around the area and mutters to herself,"gee Toto, I don't think we are in Kansas anymore..." she'd quote. Alex was never in that state to begin with.
Alex snaps out of it and looks to the only other woman there seemingly to be taking charge,"I use to be attached to a Medevac unit back in Afghanistan, I have medical training as well." she looks down at all that was on her and sighs,"I have some groceries, mace, a knife, and what ever I had shoved in my satchel today..." She'd shift her weight some, still clinging to the paper bag of groceries.
Alex takes a moment to look at the other two, namely the male that was just in his pants. She grins slightly seeing that she was at least a little more prepared. She would otherwise seem unphased by his body, she had to help with physicals before and has witness some nice builds. Alex pats her satchel attempting to feel what she may have in it...'Mostly school stuff... some first-aid, a lighter, my wallet, and a half eaten Arby's sandwich from earlier...' she'd think to herself before studying the woman again,"have we met before?" she'd ask her with a tilt of her head.

Kyrian noticed the female at the mouth of the cave putting up her handguns, a bit hesitant when stowing away her 1911. She seemed to be thinking about the gun in a pseudo-sentimental manner before she placed it away. Then, the seemingly edgy female, especially from the way she had seemed to be holding her rifle at the ready earlier, jumped as she noticed the presence of him and the other female who had appeared at roughly the same time as Kyrian, maybe slightly before him. A bit of a funny entrance she had, stumbling over the cave floor. The first one’s gaze lingered on Kyrian slightly longer than the other female, and a blush covered her cheeks as she took in the awkwardness of the male without his shirt. Kyrian, no stranger to being seen without a shirt on, would normally have felt nothing of it; but a long day of sweating and getting knocked into the dirt and whatnot, coupled with not having a shower before going to bed, could not have left for much of a good sight.
She questioned as to where they were, and supposedly what he had called it, as did the other two of their party. The second female in the group, Kyrian had decided to call her Clumsy for now, made a reference to the Wizard of Oz in response to their change of setting as the first one chambered a round into her rifle. She, Kyrian figured Gunny was a nice name for now, proved herself to not just have the look of a soldier, but the demeanor of one as well. Though she did seem a bit on edge, she had quickly gathered her bearings: surveying their setting, readying her weapon, and now, speaking to them regarding some quite sensible topics. However, she did seem a bit shy about it, though, that could have just been Kyrian’s imagination.
Other than that I'm pretty good at treating injuries.” The female gave a shrug before finishing her address, "Afraid that's all I have to offer."
Kyrian waited for the other two to respond to what had just been said as Gunny moved off to the side of the cave opposite where Kyrian had decided to lean against the wall, still enjoying his apple. The other male did not speak up to reveal anything he had, or that he could do, that might be useful to the group. And the only thing noticeable for him was the katana strapped to his back, as he continued to silently look out at the world.
As Clumsy began to speak, Kyrian shifted his attention to her, curious as to what she might reveal. He was intrigued, slightly, to learn that she had been part of a medevac unit in Afghanistan and had medical training. The two females, along with his healing ability, would be very useful in case any of them happened to be injured by the landscape, or the dangerous creatures that inhabited it. Clumsy then mentioned that she had groceries, mace, a knife, and whatever happened to be within the satchel that she carried with her.
She looked at Kyrian and the other male, Chatty was the name Kyrian had settled upon, after speaking to Gunny. As she looked to Kyrian, she gave a grin that seemed humorous, as though she were laughing at him in her head. Though, thankfully, she didn’t seem to be embarrassed about his upper body being exposed. She then felt for what was in her bag and listed some of the items she had determined to be in there; a lighter, and some first-aid supplies being on the list, as well as school items and some half-eaten food from Arby’s.
Chatty remained silent; still being secretive as to what he might be able to offer the group. That was not going to be of any help since the only destination that the denial of information would lead them to was death. And their preferred destination, as illuminated by the bright light in the sky, was quite a ways off.
Kyrian figured that since Chatty wasn’t going to chat, it was now probably his turn to speak up on a few things. Though, before he could, Gunny cleared her throat and asked if he would like a shirt. “Sure,” he said, smiling at the female, “I would’ve gotten one myself, except voices in your head aren’t always the most patient.”
He then stood properly, free of the wall’s support, and dropped the core of the now finished apple to the ground. He had decided to introduce himself first, before moving on to the more important things. “I think we forgot a very important part here. My name is Kyrian, and if y’all don’t want to be called Gunny, Chatty, and Clumsy, I think we should get to know each other better.”
“Since I assume you were all also brought here by this Nysa person, I’m going to go ahead and say that none of you are ignorant to the true nature of the world. And I doubt any of the three of you are human. So, just saying that you’ve got a few weapons won’t do. We’re all going to need to know exactly what each other is, and what we can offer, if we hope to survive this place.” The male then stepped back outside of the cave and made a wide gesture towards their surroundings. “This is the Khyper-Diorem,” he said before pointing towards their left, where he was certain Shangri-La lay hidden from his sight, “And off that way, you might be able to see a wall that seems to be infinite, if you have specially enhanced vision, or another tool to help you. That is Shangri-La, the home of the gods. The rest of this place is Hell.” He then turned back to face the group again, “The gods themselves do not like to wander this place. Countless dangerous creatures roam this place, and most of them roam in groups. Do not expect me to know much more than you, for the knowledge I’ve been able to gather on this place is very limited, and my experience in this realm even more-so.”
He then took a breath before looking himself over, “So, for proper introductions, I’ll start. I’m a darkness elemental, if you have no experience with my kind, it’s pretty much what the name implies. And, in case you’re wondering. I’m not weaponless. Every piece of metal around me is my weapon, so I’m quite prepared. I’ll tell you more about me as we get to it.”

It didn't come as much of a surprise to the medic that the first person to arrive after her didn't have much to say about anything really. For the moment he barely registered to her as she gazed between the other woman and the half-naked man. She herself had seen countless men without their shirts on, but she always knew why they had their shirts off and always had a task at hand to keep her focused on anyway. With the man's current state of appearance it looked as if he might have spent the night literally rolling in the hay with a companion.
The other woman then said something that caught Katrina's attention. She mentioned being part of a medevac crew. Katrina didn't have time to process that as her question came out and was answered by the man. Before she could respond to that however, he spoke up again. The first thing was his name, followed by nicknames that didn't leave much to figuring out. She pursed her lips at being called Gunny, but remained quiet for the duration of the man's speech. Yet again another being was acusing her of not being human. It seemed to be something of a habit of late. He was possibly the third or fourth person to call Katrina (and everyone else in the group for that matter) something other than human. By now his speech was sounding eerily familiar as he followed it up with nearly the same lines that someone else she encountered used. He wanted to know 'what she could do.' Everyone wanted to know what she could do. What could she do?
Her thought process was cut off as he pointed off into the distance. Katrina couldn't spot what he was referring to at a glance, but if it was some place significant, she figured there was a chance they'd head in that direction and she'd see it eventually. What he said next caught her completely off-guard once again. 'Home of the gods?' Katrina thought startled. 'Gods? Actual Gods?' Katrina looked between him and the place he pointed and back a few times. Finally she shrugged. 'Fuck it,' she thought. At this stage this was just silly and either this person was crazy, she was crazy, or just about anything could happen and fuck reality. To top things off, apparently he knew enough that to tell them that there were gods in this land and apparently they feared to walk outside their supposed city, but not enough to help them to get to that city. 'Fucking wonderful.'
Lastly he concluded his speech by calling himself an elemental. Hadn't she heard that before? He also was apparently not weaponless as he used metal to his aid. 'If that was true...' Katrina's thought paused as she noted the metal wrapping around various parts of his body. 'He definitely has a lot of weapons at his disposal, on both him, and everyone else as well.'
Katrina looked at Kyrian, then Alex, then Marcus, and finally back out to the land beyond the cave. After a moment she brought her rifle up to firing position, pointed out in the direction Kyrian had pointed. A green disk aimed down the scope attached to the rifle before the redhead squinted. She could swear she could barely make out a structure of some sort through the scope, but it was probably just wishful thinking. After a few moments of processing all of this information she gave an exaggerated series of nods.
"I uh-- I'm Katrina Wolf, US army medic. I've served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. I don't know what you expect me to tell you. This..." Katrina cut off to motion out of the cave. "This is all new to me. I-- was once called an angel by a girl with wings, but I think she was just being nice. I-- don't have any super voodoo.. nonsense. I'm just a soldier-- Trying to help." By the end the woman almost sounded distressed as she turned back toward the opening. "Gods and hell and all of that? What the hell am I doing here?" She gave a sigh and shake of her head. "And yes ma'am, we met at a library as I recall. I can't remember where. We just passed each other by."
The medic remained quiet for a moment before finally unslinging her rifle. She set it against the cave wall as she lifted her bag and vest from her frame and undid her uniform top before bundling it up and holding it out in Kyrian's direction. "It's either this or my Tee, but I think that might be a bit tight on you. I do want this back when we're done though."
After waiting for him to take it, or heaven forbid asking for her other shirt (which Katrina would grudgingly oblige (Though unfortunately for any hopefuls she was wearing a disappointingly covering sports bra beneath)), Katrina would heft her vest back over her frame and secure it once more. The dazed medic would also shoulder her medical bag before finally collecting her rifle. Then she turned back to the others. So far the only one who hadn't at least introduced themselves was silent boy. Katrina waited a few moments for him to speak though whether or not he did she'd nod out the mouth of the cave.
"Given the only one of us who has displayed information about this location has stated his knowledge is limited, I propose we continue this discussion on the move. The quicker we get to where we're going the better. The longer we're in the kill zone, the more chances we have of succumbing." Green disks fell upon Alex. "I don't suppose you have another way of storing those, do you? If not I suggest you take up a spot in the middle. We can save people with hands free to hold weapons to be at the front and rear." The woman finished her statement with another nod in the same direction. This time she would begin walking without hesitation.

Marcus wonderment moved away from the world to everyone else of the group. The female made a Wizard of OZ quote that expressed his and her and probably everyone else thoughts as well. She mentioned that she had medical training as well then gave the rest the list of things she had inside her bag. His stomach growled when she mentioned the sandwich, though his mouth made no sound or movement. She finished with asking the other female a questioned then the other homeless man spoke.
“I think we forgot a very important part here. My name is Kyrian, and if y’all don’t want to be called Gunny, Chatty, and Clumsy, I think we should get to know each other better.” Marcus eyes widened to the word chatty. “Since I assume you were all also brought here by this Nysa person, I’m going to go ahead and say that none of you are ignorant to the true nature of the world. And I doubt any of the three of you are human. So, just saying that you’ve got a few weapons won’t do. We’re all going to need to know exactly what each other is, and what we can offer, if we hope to survive this place.” The homeless man then made movement to the outside cave, gesturing to the world around them. Marcus looked at everything himself while listening to every word this man said. Although he stepped away from the cave mouth and moved far away from everyone else. He felt that the mouth was becoming a little to crowded for him.
“This is the Khyper-Diorem And off that way, you might be able to see a wall that seems to be infinite, if you have specially enhanced vision, or another tool to help you. That is Shangri-La, the home of the gods. The rest of this place is Hell. The gods themselves do not like to wander this place. Countless dangerous creatures roam this place, and most of them roam in groups. Do not expect me to know much more than you, for the knowledge I’ve been able to gather on this place is very limited, and my experience in this realm even more-so."
"So why the fuck do the Gods expect us to survive the land if they are too afraid to roam the land themselves?" Marcus said finally speaking up to the group. He would then turn silent again giving the rest a speaking chance. His mind raced with ideas as to why the gods would send him here. If they really did expect them to do something in this dangerous world they themselves could not do then they must have had some way of protecting them. His eyes wondered the textures of the cave while his mind raced to Nysa and that beaming light. She said she needed help and she couldn't bring them all the way towards her position. Maybe that light was where she was. If Marcus had any hope of getting out of this dangerous world then he would need to 'play nice' with this group for the time being.
“So, for proper introductions, I’ll start. I’m a darkness elemental, if you have no experience with my kind, it’s pretty much what the name implies. And, in case you’re wondering. I’m not weaponless. Every piece of metal around me is my weapon, so I’m quite prepared. I’ll tell you more about me as we get to it.” Marcus gave Kyrian a grin that sort of showed anger to the Elemental. He knew that sooner or later this bastard would use his Blade for his own protection. Just the thought pissed Marcus off.
"I uh-- I'm Katrina Wolf, US army medic. I've served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. I don't know what you expect me to tell you. This... This is all new to me. I-- was once called an angel by a girl with wings, but I think she was just being nice. I-- don't have any super voodoo.. nonsense. I'm just a soldier-- Trying to help."
The female seemed frantic and less calming then ever. Marcus gave an annoyed mug, watching the her movements and speech. He didn't want to be teamed up with a flustered teammate who thought of herself as useless. All she would do is down herself while the rest of the group would get eaten by the dangerous monsters of this world. His mug left slowly as Katrina began talking about strategies and formations. He gave a smile and a nod to her feeling a bit better about her leadership. That is what he needed, a soldier and not a whiny baby.
Marcus would wait a little while for the other female to mention who she was before he would speak. He would take a deep breath and close his eyes, preparing to change his attitude and even his atmosphere. "My name is Ghost. I have another name but sadly I do no think of you guys as trustworthy enough to know it. As to what I can do and who I am." He unstrapped his sheath from his back, resting it gently on the floor, and took off his coat letting his dark wings flap about freely in the cave. "Does this answer your question?" He said looking towards Kyrian. His eyes and tone calmer than ever.

Alex stares a moment at the Elemental, 'Angel', and the man with an impressive wingspan. It takes her a moment to recover from the culture shock. There really was nothing special about herself, at least so she thinks. Alex staggers a moment not finding the words, only managing a soft squeak before closing her eyes and reopening them hoping it was all just a dream, but alas it wasn't. She can't help feel like some cruel twisted fate had befallen her.
Alex shakes her head as she snaps out of the shock slowly. In a shy timid voice,"No, I have no other way to store the food... If anyone is hungry while we set out let me know. I-I am Alex Rivera, and I'm just human. If I have any special powers, I do not know about them." She stands upright hugging the bag of groceries ready to fall in formation.
She replays the information that has been discussed so far in her head. Not liking the fact that she is in hell and having to trod through a place like this. But Hell is not what she admagined it would be like. She begins to wonder at how many people at home might not be human as well, which gives her a shudder.
Alex takes a deep breath, whatever this goddess saw in her she does not know, but one thing is for sure. If she intends to survive she will have to work with these people,"let us get going then?" she asks. The sooner they set out the sooner they'll reach safety... Or so she hopes.
"Life is like an equation, it has many possible solutions with the same end result. How you choose to tackle it is up to you."~meh!

Kyrian’s gaze had drifted to Chatty when he had spoken out about the gods expecting the group to survive, when they were too scared to walk the lands themselves. However, as he was still talking, he had not felt obligated to answer at the time. After he was done talking, and before Gunny started, Kyrian had noticed, for a second, the other male putting on a grin that didn’t seem friendly in the slightest. ‘Secretive, and seeming aggressive towards me,’ Kyrian thought to himself. ‘This is going to work out perfectly.’
However, before he could say anything towards Chatty regarding his question, or his misplaced anger, Gunny, no, Katrina Wolf, spoke up. The woman gave her name and stated that she was a US army medic who had served both in Iraq and Afghanistan. However, she seemed to be a bit off-set by the mentioning of not being human. Apparently, she had met either an angel or daemon before and had been told she was an angel herself, though she apparently never took it seriously. ‘If she is an angel,’ Kyrian thought, ‘Then she must be one of the supes that grew up as a human.’ Katrina seemed a bit distressed by the thought of not being human and paused, turning toward the opening of the cave before questioning why she had been called into such a strange situation. She then answered a question Clumsy had asked her earlier.
Everyone seemed to have gone quiet after Katrina’s small moment of weakness. Then, the supposed angel removed her rifle from her person and set it against the cave wall before taking off her bag and vest, then undoing her uniform top, removing it, and holding it out to Kyrian. She said that she could only offer that or her tee shirt, which she had been wearing underneath, and that she would want the shirt back when they were done with their adventure.
Kyrian stepped forward and took the shirt, glad to have something covering his body in this place. “Thanks for that. Though, I can’t promise I’ll be able to return it in one piece,” he said as she began to place everything else back upon her person. She simply nodded in response, before she seemed to once again get a hold of herself and began speaking of their need to get on their way towards the destination. She then asked Clumsy if she had a better way of storing her various items, before suggesting a formation for them to travel in.
Clumsy was the first to respond; stating that she had no way to store the food, her name was Alex Rivera, and that she was a human with no special abilities. Kyrian sighed internally at that knowledge, due to the fact that humans did not mix well with the supernatural creatures on Earth, much less in this hellish realm. The thought crossed his mind that he, Chatty and Katrina might end having to protect her throughout the duration of their journey, before he remembered that the female had been part of a medevac, so she had to have had gone through a combat medic school. That gave him an idea for how they could worry about her safety less.
Next, the other male spoke up, though what he had to say was just a short and secretive as Kyrian now suspected he might be throughout the entire trip. He gave them a name to call him, but immediately revealed that it was not his true name, and that he did not feel as though the rest of them were trustworthy enough to have that information. Then, he implied that he was going to reveal what he was and what he was capable of doing before he removed the sheath from his back, took off the coat he was wearing, and set free a pair of dark wings. He then looked at Kyrian in a very calm manner and asked if his stunt had answered the elemental’s question. Honestly, the only thing it revealed was that he was either a daemon or an angel.
Kyrian knew that the group would require work, but he also knew that he wasn’t good at being a leader, so he decided that he would allow Katrina to take the lead for now, as she seemed to be doing quite well, and he would simply offer his support and occasional suggestions.
As Alex asked “Let us get going, then,” Kyrian couldn’t have agreed any more, and Katrina was already walking out. The male caught up to Katrina and placed a hand on the female’s shoulder, to stop her for just a moment in order to speak to the female. “Katrina, I believe it might be a good idea to give one of your handguns to Alex, so that she’ll have something to protect herself with,” he said in a normal voice, which could be easily heard by the other two since they hadn’t moved much from the cave. The male then lowered his voice, to speak to her privately, “By the way, you’re doing a good job of taking this in step, soldier,” he said with a hint of friendly humor in his voice, before stepping back from the female and assuming a position behind, and to the right of, Alex.

Emerald green eyes watched the man who called himself Ghost as he spoke. It didn't need to be said that he was a touch secretive. He even said it himself. Further surprise came when he revealed his wings, but this time Katrina didn't show signs. She had seen wings before. She didn't expect this one to have wings but surely if there were angels, there were also Daemons no? A few bobs of her head later, she was looking back at Kyrian as he took her offered shirt from her. A faint smirk showed through her exterior before she turned back to attend to her gear. Finally her attention was on Alex. "We'll have to see what we can do when we're someplace a little more defensible, then."
Part way outside the cave, Kyrian approached the medic and placed a hand on her shoulder. The touch was like a shock through her system but she didn't allow the sudden start to show. Her head rotated over her shoulder and turned to the side. "Hm?" she asked before his suggestion followed. Her eyes reoriented and focused on Alex for a few moments before turning back to Kyrian, just in time for him to speak again. This time he lowered his voice to just her. As his words registered, those eyes fell off to the side. The medic became momentarily reminiscent as her free hand slid up to touch the Dog tags dangling around her neck. Where normally a soldier would carry two, Katrina bore three, one of them visibly different from the other two. A few seconds later she offered a wry smile to the man. "I have some experiences with desperate situations, but thank you. And I was planning on doing just that when we got to someplace a little better for her to be fumbling around with-- but.."
The medic turned fully to face the group and reached in to produce her Five-seveN. She grabbed it by the slide and barrel and held the gun handle out towards Alex. "Military grade armor piercing rounds. Still a Five-seveN, but it can pierce light hardened body armor. May come in handy." If Alex couldn't free a hand up to grab the pistol, Katrina would step up to her and find a place to slide it in, be it her waistband or in the bag of groceries. She then stepped back out front and waved Kyrian forward again as she continued to walk.
Once Kyrian was closer again (If he accepted the request) Katrina would began speaking in a soft, but not quite muted tone. "You said you can use metal right? Like brass? I think that might come in handy. I don't see collecting spent brass out here for reuse, so.. Not sure what you can do with it, but it's an option. Also, anything you happen to know about this place's plant life? We're going to need wood for a fire, even if you can create apples on the fly. I can see fairly well in the dark but I don't know about her. My flashlights won't last forever. Plus unless standard rules on animal behavior are different here-- We'll want something to keep them at bay when the sun goes down."
The medic looked over her shoulder again at the other two, then turned back forward. This time she spoke with her voice raised. "Unless anyone's seriously tired, we'll be marching for a little while before we take our break. The further from the mouth of that cave the better. I don't know what lurks in the depths of these lands. We'll take turns on watch, and I'll cover first shift, since I'm only a couple hours out of bed myself. I assume the same could be said for Kyrian here.. and then Ghost, then Alex. After that we'll have breakfast and move along till mid day. We'll take a short break and then continue on. I suggest limiting consumption, even given the circumstances. We don't know how long we'll be out here, and we don't need to be casually drawing on ourselves to be extravagant eaters." Even as Katrina listened for their replies, she was already thinking about more things. She hadn't heard of anyone getting seriously lost on Earth for quite a while, save on remote islands. It was unlikely that help would be anywhere nearby, so the four of them needed to make do with what they had and each other. Katrina was damned if she wouldn't make that work.

So they began marching. Marcus made sure that he was behind all of them, gathering his blade before moving out. His mind stayed focus on something else as his thoughts drowned out all of everyone else's conversations. He thought about everything that was going on but mostly about the gods. If Kyrian did mean what he said, then the Gods were terrified of this area. But what made them so terrified? Was it the animals? The unknowing of nature? What would make them seal themselves up in that tall castle to where not even the flying animals could get in?
"Ghost, then Alex." The redhead known as wolf said stating his name. Ghost suddenly snapped to reality and listened to her words. He felt that he missed a great chunk of her speech, but he didn't really care. "After that we'll have breakfast and move along till mid day. We'll take a short break and then continue on. I suggest limiting consumption, even given the circumstances. We don't know how long we'll be out here, and we don't need to be casually drawing on ourselves to be extravagant eaters."
Marcus rolled his eyes to the females orders as if she actually thought that he was going to role over and follow her like a good doggy. He liked her taking charge but he hated being told what to do more. The end result may be her yelling her mouth off and him contemplating on whether he should kill her or not. Marcus thought of just leaving them behind and flying off to the beam of light, but then the thought of what could be at the area filled him with doubt and told him to stay with the sacrifices, or what Ghost would call for now 'the group.' He would deal with Shih Tsu's bark of orders, but that doesn't mean that he would listen to every order she gave. If he found it useless and unhelpful he would ignore her.
His main problem lies with the male of the group. Clever and somehow stupid at the same time, he may also have the 'leave the group behind if shit hits the fan' mentality Marcus has. Two people with that mentality is never a good thing, because only one would be able to survive and that one would be the most clever one of the both. He didn't want that damn pretty boy to take his life. The second one to go if shit would be wrong would be the pretty boy big mouth.
Then there was the other one. My god how he hated the other one. She was weak to his eyes and he did not want her to be the one taking him down. If any shit happens then she would probably be the first to go. He wouldn't save her and he wouldn't even shed a tear. Marcus laughed at how he planned to take his friends out first before they did to him then decided against it. They were all worth something to him, especially the soldier, and he needed to work with them in order to escape this alive. 'This is the price of being too weak to carry yourself.' He thought breathing out deeply. 'Maybe I will keep them safe. If I am about to die then I will leave them. Maybe bring another with me, one that can heal me.'
The mountain was a very large one, but surprisingly he found no danger yet. Where there no animals on top of the hills? He found it all strange that things were going so well. If things were this calm then the Gods would be here greeting them and not hiding in their little prison of protection. He turned around, back stepping while following the rest of the group. His eyes focused on everything including the sky, the walls, the path behind and anything else Marcus would register as strange.
When he noticed the grass hit his feet, he gave a brief search at the forest, trees, and what ever wild life he would think he would notice. For some reason, he was pissed when nothing had happened in that long walk down the mountain. Pissed at the knowledge that things do not stay calm for long in a world deemed dangerous by his group mate. Marcus opened his senses even more, preparing for anything to happen.
