Chaltah and Stormchaser get out of the car once they reach the lake's shore and look around. It was a beautiful sight. A nice place to possibly open up a new version of her stable if she ever decided to move from Ireland (highly doubtful). As Gram walks over to give Storm his equipment, their attention turns to listen to his instructions.
Stormchaser takes the bag as it was given to him and looks inside at the stuff there and closes it back up "Right." He gets himself set up and wades into the water "if I'm not back in five minutes..." he turns to look back at them "Just wait longer" he smirks and dives down into the depths in search of the ore.
Chaltah stands there on the shore, waiting for Stormchaser to return. While anxious, she manages to keep calm, knowing that Stormchaser was capable of fending for himself right now. But it didn't mean should couldn't worry for his safety.

Gram watched Stormchaser disappear into the water. For a few seconds, he just stared at the lake, before glancing at his watch, then looking at the store. "Hey. I'm going to check out the store while we wait. Maybe grab some candy. You want anything?" He asked, speaking to Chaltah.
Shortly after, he turned and walked into the store, two of his men and Drew following him. It was a hot, sunny day and Gram was not particularly fond of the heat, preferring his air conditioned apartment back in New York. He grabbed a pack of twizzlers and chewed on a couple while he looked over the beverages, selecting a bottle of water. Gram was paying the man who ran the small store when he heard a truck pull up outside. A small group of armed men hopped out of the back and Gram could just barely make out the driver. Wearing a straw hat with aviator sunglasses was Tyrus and his men had guns this time.
"Looks like we've got some company!" Gram shouted out in warning as Tyrus's men opened fire with automatic rifles on the store. The young man was shoved to the ground, Drew on top to help shield him from any stray bullets with his own body.

Chaltah continues to watch the water, shaking her head as Gram asked if she wanted anything. "No, I'm just going to stay here and wait for Stormchaser to come back." she does walk over to the store though to stand in the shade and watch the water ripple and lap at the shore. She turns as she hears the sound of a vehicle coming to a stop and spies the people getting out with guns "Bloody hell..." and dives into the water before the bullets start riddling the building.
Stormchaser swam and swam, the water was clear but starting to get dark. He searched calmly, as he got close to the bottom and catches a small glint of something on the ground. Swimming to it he finds the electrum and grabs the chisel, working of a chunk of the metal with relative ease and starts making his way up when he notices that a figure was swimming down toward him. After another moment he notices it's Chaltah and swims up to her.
As Stormchaser got closer to her she started miming someone using a gun and points toward the water. Little more needed to be conveyed that someone was shooting and it was a good guess who. He hands her the bag and shifts into a large fish and with Chaltah in tow, speeds back toward the cars under the water's surface

Chaltah was smart. The bullets would lose lethal velocity after a few feet in the water, so she would be relatively safe. Hopefully, things would be finished before she would have to come up for air.
Gram and his men traded a few shots, trying to concentrate over the shouting of the storeowner. Tyrus shouted a few words to his men in a language that Gram couldn't quite understand and his men piled back into the truck. Grinning, the daemon drove off, his men shooting a few parting shots as the left. The young man narrowed his eyes. The relic hunters had never fled a battle before. After a few moments, when they were certain the men were gone, Gram exited the shop and hurried over to the water, his men following, wary eyes on the road in case Tyrus came back.
When Chaltah and Stormchaser surfaced, Gram would ask "Anyone injured?"

When the sound of the bullets stopped both she and Stormchaser surfaced from the water, Chaltah gasping for air as they make their way to the shore. At Gram's question she looks over at him "All good here"
Stormchaser holds up the bag with the metal in it as well "We have the last piece" he then looks down the road both ways before speaking again "Why did he leave? Did he believe you dead? It seems so unlike him to start something and leave it unfinished." he looks at the cars then back to Gram "Do you think they might have done something to the cars while we were preoccupied?"
Chaltah wondered the same thing. With no one watching it could be easy for someone to put a tracer or worse, a bomb, on the car and have it explode while they were driving and no one would be the wiser about what had happened.

Gram shook his head, his expression grim. "No. I am afraid it's much more simpler than that." He turned and nodded towards the cars, a couple of his men immediately checking them anyway, on Stormchaser's suggestion. "This was him sending us a message, that he knows where we are and that he's willing to use guns, too. This is not good."
He chewed another twizzler before he spoke again. "Up until now, our major advantage over this group has been that they've been unwilling to use human inventions. Now that they're using guns... I suspect our next battle may be much bloodier. They are desperate." Gram chewed thoughtfully before waving his hand towards the car, his men finished checking and having found nothing. "We should go. The next time they show up, I'd like to be somewhere more defensible while we complete the ritual. I grabbed a cheap hotel room and sent for a few more of my men to wait there for us."
Climbing back into his car, Gram prepared himself for this final journey, the last leg of their quest. It was almost over.

That had been a very different attack from the previous ones and found it odd, to say the least, that they would resort to mortal built weaponry. But that didn't matter. They had them and they knew where they were, which made this all the more important to find out what this ritual did as it seemed the Supernaturals would stop at nothing to obtain it. "I agree. Let's get out of here" Chaltah says as they climb back in to their own car
Stormchaser looks at the bullet riddled store a moment before speaking "Think he'll get reimbursed? That's going to take a bit of work to clean up after that." he hated to think the man wouldn't get some kind of compensation for the troubles he just went through.
"Not sure Stormchaser. We can ask Gram about it later but we can't fix all the problems. All we can do is try to stop the one causing them. The daemon had to die. That was all there was to it. Hopefully with him gone the whole faction he controlled would fall apart as well

The cars drove along the road at a safe pace, a handful of hours away from the hotel they were headed to, Chaltah and Stormbringer's following Gram's at a slight distance.. Gram sat in the back seat of his car, chin in hand, staring thoughtfully out of the window. So close to completing the quest that had so interested him at it's beginning, the young man could only wonder at whether or not it had been worth it. He'd lost men, nearly been killed himself, and spent a considerable sum of money getting so far. Supernatural powers were, well powerful, but in the past few days Gram had seen dozens of supernaturals die, powers or no, against the mechanical creations of man. Still, he wanted this power for himself. Yes, it had been worth it, Gram thought.
There was an explosion some feet in front the second car, Chaltah and Stormbringer's. Their driver lost control and the vehicle flipped, landing on it's top. Other than it's tumble, the car was relatively unharmed by the explosion and the two of Gram's men who occupied the front seat managed to crawl out through their shattered windows. The immediately took out their assault rifles and began searching around for the cause of the explosion before fire from the left side of the car killed the one who'd exited on that side.
Meanwhile, Gram's own car, torn from the driver's control by the force of the explosion, swerved before going off the road, tipping onto it's side before rolling upside down and back onto it's wheels. The driver was killed but Drew managed to pull Gram who, bleeding from a head injury, had not yet recovered from the shock of the crash into a nearby ditch. Barr, who'd been in the passenger seat, likewise got out, looking somewhat worse for the wear, and he took out his rifle and stood guard over Drew and Gram while Drew examined Gram for any further injuries. When the shooting began, it started on the left side of their car and, luckily, they were on the right side.
Gram, his senses returning, grimaced in pain when he tried to take out his pistol. His wrist was broken. Although still somewhat addled from the crash, he realized what had happened. They'd been ambushed on the road. He took out his cell and, finding it broken, asked Drew for his before calling his men at the hotel, telling them what had happened and ordering them to get there as soon as possible. It could take them fifteen minutes or more to arrive and, from the sound of things, they might not have that long.
Separated by a significant distance that could not be closed easily under this kind of fire, Gram took out his cell and he called Chaltah and Stormchaser to see if they were still alive. "Pick up." Gram muttered to himself, listening to it ring.

Neither Chaltah or Stormchaser had been prepared for the explosion, which sent the car rolling. Chaltah hit her head in the roll and blacks out as Storm manages to grab her and cushion her with his own body until the car came to a stop
She comes to as she hears the sound of a cell phone ringing, muffled as it rested between her and Storm's body. The sound of bullets was the next thing she heard but couldn't get a fix on its direction as her head was pounding. Everything hurt and she could taste blood in her mouth but somehow she manages to pull the phone out, fumbling with it until she got it open "Gram?" she manages to gasp "Gram, what's going on...?" she looks at her companion who was bleeding from the head and glass cuts all over him from protecting her "Stormchaser is unconscious.. and I can't tell if I've broken anything"

Gram was relieved when Chaltah answered the phone. She was alive but it was bad news for them that Stormchaser was unconscious. "We've been ambushed. My men are on their way but they wont be here for fifteen, maybe twenty more minutes. We'll need to hold them off until then. Are any of my men who were in the car with you still alive?" Gram gritted his teeth as he held the phone to his ear with his shoulder as he took up his pistol using his left hand and fired a couple blind shots towards the direction of where the fire was coming from.
"How many are there?" He asked Drew who was rising from cover to fire back periodically. "Eight." The man answered grimly. "Five with automatic rifles and one, Tyrus, who appears to just be watching with binoculars. Shit!" Drew tackled Gram and covered him with his body as the car they'd been in, which was located a couple dozen feet or so from the ditch they lay in, exploded.
"Chaltah," Gram spoke through the phone. "Try to get to a ditch. They have an rpg and we don't know how much ammunition they have for it!" He fired from cover again.
In the distance, watching through his binoculars, Tyrus smiled.

Chaltah heard the explosion followed by Gram's voice on the phone telling her to get out of the car. She looks down at Stormchaser and then peers out through the window to see what she could see. At last she was able to hear better and pulls Storm out of the car, trying to make her way to the ditch. She didn't seem too worse for wear but her whole body ached. She does manage to drag the dead weight into the ditch with her, the body falling on top of her in the process. Putting the phone to her ear once more she speaks "We're out... but Storm's body is on top of me. I can't get him off me. I don't think he's waking up any time soon Gram. Best save yourself and get out of here." She manages to get the bag off the dragon and tosses it in Gram's general direction before trying to push the body off her once more.

Even though he knew she couldn't see him, Gram shook his head. "No. I'm not leaving you two behind to die.. I won't even consider it." In truth, he wouldn't consider leaving them behind for two reasons. One was because they still had some of the ingredients for the ritual and the second was because if Gram left his cover he'd be a sitting duck out in the open while Tyrus's men shot at them.
Drew fired from cover and took out one of Tyrus's men. "Got one."
"Look," Gram said through the phone to Chaltah. "All we need to do is hold out just a little while longer until my men arrive." He peeked out from cover, briefly, before ducking back inside. The young man closed his eyes and called up an image of what he'd seen. Gram popped back up again, eyes still closed, and he fired off three rounds at the supernatural, with the rpg, an angel. Luck was with him and he hit the angel just as he was about to fire again and, instead of firing the missile toward were Chaltah and Stormchaser sheltered, he fired at his feet, killing him and two others.
Gram grinned fiercely. Things were looking up, he thought. Just then, two more trucks of supernaturals pulled up and out climbed nine reinforcements for Tyrus, all armed with automatic rifles. Gram could hear the daemon laughing.

Chaltah pushes but the body wasn't budging. The sounds of combat going over her head "Oh man... Gram it's not worth it." she says in the phone before she hears the sound of trucks came in "Gram... go. There's too many. You can't let them get that scroll" she pleads with the man. Then she hears Tyrus laughing and calling them out about them not being so tough. "Yeah right..." he lays back and reaches and grabs brush to start pulling over herself and Storm who starts to groan but still wasn't moving. She hopes that she could at least build a small bit camouflage to hide her from sight until help arrived or until Stormchaser finally woke up "Gram... this isn't looking good. Storm still isn't waking up and I can't feel my legs. He'd got me pinned down" she grunts and then just lays there with a sigh "This might be it for us..."

Gram growled and fired a few more shots from cover before ducking back down, bullets peppering the dirt where he was just a moment ago. "No! It's not over until I say it's over." He said to Chaltah, his voice stubborn. "Don't give up on me just yet." Drew shot one of Tyrus's men through the foot, following up with a kill shot. He took out another before falling back in cover, holding the side of his head where a bullet had grazed him. Barr fell down, gurgling from a gunshot wound in his throat. Gram gritted his teeth in frustration as he watched another of his men die. They were taking out some of Tyrus's men, but not nearly enough.
Eyeing the road, Gram hoped his men would arrive soon. His eyes lit up and he pulled his laptop out of the bag he carried, an idea forming in his mind. "Hold on. I'm going to try something." He told Chaltah through the phone. Typing with an injured hand was painful and slow but Gram had to or they might all die.

Chaltah sighs and closes her eyes as Gram tells her that he wasn't going anywhere in to so few words "Alright.. but if you die I'm not going to be held responsible" she jokes on the phone as she lay there. Her eyes light up more as Gram seems to get some kind of idea "What is it, Gram?" she looks up from her spot, trying to see Gram, and figure out what he was trying to do "Whatever it is you might need to do it quick. This isn't looking good for anyone" she lays her head back down as bullets go whizzing by "Gram... I think they're sighting in on my position" she says softly on the phone, trying to lay as still as she could while the sound of bullets make it hard to hear sometimes. Stormchaser groans and stirs faintly, allowing her to pull one of her legs out "Come on Storm... wake up"
