Jack silently observed the exchange between Rosalin and the drunk guy, moving only to bring a few pieces of candy to his mouth. The blank expression he wore while chewing said that he couldn't understand what she was saying and wasn't terribly interested either. From what the young man could tell from her tone and body language, she seemed a little accusatory. He was relieved when she switched back to english, though it didn't do much to clear up his confusion. Apparently, the new man had wasted Rosalin's time in the brief moments he'd been there and had also somehow caused her to lose both her dinner and her paycheck. How unfortunate.
Scratching his chin, Ten wondered what she might be referring to. He didn't want to make any assumptions, so it would probably be best to ask if he wanted to satisfy his curiosity in this matter. But Jack just wasn't sure if it was appropriate for him to ask about what she'd said. Didn't really matter though, since Nyght ended up voicing some of the questions that had come to his mind before he could talk.
"Whatcha mean paycheck and dinner? Did I interrupt you while you were working or something?" Jack finally asked, brow furrowed slightly with concern, feeling a little bad.

Rosalin grimaced when she realized what she had let slip. It had been a long time since she'd let her emotions and hunger get the best of her and allowed something important like that slip from her lips. Now these two elementals were questioning her. At Nyght's words, she frowned and glared at the other woman slightly. She was no vampire. All the vampyres she'd ever met were assholes. She couldn't stand them, and she couldn't stand her father either. He was the biggest asshole of them all.
"I'm no vampyre." She pulled away from Nyght and Jack, thinking about just leaving and tracking down her target again. She realized she'd be screwed if she let him get away. Especially if she didn't do this before the sun rose.
She processed what Jack had said before she nodded. "Yes. I am working." She shoved her hands into her front pockets, looking them both in the eye, one after the other before turning her gaze towards the horizon. She guessed that she still have about an hour and a half before the sun rose and she would have to get inside. "Like I said. I'm no vampyre." She paused and sighed before looking at them again. "My mother was fae. My father was a vampyre."

Nyght narrowed her eyes as the female glared at her. One thing she did not stand well was being threatened, and the way this female was glaring at her was exceedingly threatening. Not that Nyght was scared, she was well prepared to deal with anything that came her way and was not afraid. She wriggled her fingers slightly, gathering energy from around them ready to attack this upstart supernatural being if she needed to. She listened to the words the other said, and scoffed slightly when she denied her own heritage.
"So, a hybrid blood sucker....what makes you so different from others then? I see no difference, I see you stalking somebody in the middle of the night, ready to drain his life essence and leave him for dead. Still sounds exactly like every other vamprye I have ever heard of."
Nyght was being exceptionally rude, and she knew it as well. She hated uppity blood suckers though, even if they where half breeds. Vampryes who stalked and hunted their prey in the dark, not giving that prey a chance to defend itself...that was their way of the night and it disgusted her. She...now SHE was a true night stalker. She did not just live in the darkness, she WAS the darkness. Like Jackson beside her, they where the embodiment of darkness itself and neither of them would ever be caught skulking around killing people to drain their life essence in the darkness. This female's claim to be different was wasted on Nyght, and would be until she proved herself to be different.

The young man's brow furrowed, almost apologetically, when Rosalin told him that she was working. He hadn't meant to interrupt and inconvenience her, but that was apparently what he'd done. Oh well. Guilt wasn't really his thing but Jack had gotten fairly competent at imitating such feelings. It let him get away with more than he probably would otherwise.
Jack raised one eyebrow, curious. He definitely wasn't liking the glare she was giving Nyght but was really more confused as to why she was so displeased. The young man didn't know what she was and it didn't really matter to him. But Nyght was pretty sharp and she'd guessed wrong so now his inquisitive nature had been stoked. If she wasn't a vamp, what was she? Rosalin had apparently taken some offense to being called a vampire, which only made things that much more interesting. But Jack was too polite to ask directly. So he wouldn't. Luckily, he didn't have to ask at all.
"Maybe she has a good reason for whatever she happens to be doing out here," The young man offered sheepishly. Nyght was being awfully rude for some reason and Jack didn't want to see any confrontation between the two. But he also didn't want her to be mad at him. "Everyones gotta eat, right?"

"I do not kill mindlessly. I am nothing like the bastard my father was. And I don't take too kindly to being likened to him and his kind." She blew out a sharp breath before she pulled one of her hands from her pocket and run it through her hair, ruffling the pink strands a little bit. "It's not like I'm just here for a meal." She scoffed. "Why would I travel so far from my home for that?"
She shook her head, looking back towards the horizon every now and then as well as keeping an eye on Nyght and Jack. "I am working. And my clients don't care how the person dies, as long as they do die." She shrugged. "My job may not be the first choice, but at least I know I'm getting paid, and bastards like the one I'm chasing now won't be around to hurt any more people." Pausing, she glared at Nyght for a few minutes before she closed her eyes and shook her head again. "You can sit there and judge me all you want, but unless you want to be my next meal, I suggest you don't piss me off anymore."
Rosalin could feel her teeth sharpen and she hissed in both frustration an anger. She really needed to get control over her emotions.

Nyght growled softly, annoyed by the woman's petulant whining. Her fingers working beside her, she was growing more and more irritated with the girl's whining and finally she had enough. Feeling power coursing through herself, she raised her hand and swiped it at the female as if she was trying to claw her eyes out despite the fact that she was a whole other arms length away from her.
"Silentum!" Nyght snarled, pushing power in to the word and shutting the girl up magically.
"You are a child obviously. Even if you are not physically, you clearly are mentally. You could not make me your meal even if you WANTED to girl. Now...learn to hold your tongue, and show a little respect to other people who are simply trying to be friendly and nice to you!"
Nyght took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. She was not sure exactly what had come over her, or even what she had done to the other female. This was a new spell to her, and she had never used it before and honestly did not know that she could. She looked at her hand, wriggling her fingers and smiled, looking back up at the female.

Uh oh. Both of them seemed to be ignoring him and, unfortunately, things seemed to be escalating. Now, Jack didn't know Rosalin very well so he honestly didn't have a clue what might happen if the two continued to exchange words. Maybe she'd storm off, fed up. Or maybe she'd start a fight. Jack wasn't liking the thought of either of those two things happening, but the former seemed the less bad of the two. He didn't want to see anyone get hurt.
The threats had begun. It seemed that Rosalin was taking a considerable amount of offense to what Nyght had said. So she said her threats and Nyght responded with some of her own, throwing in a little magic. The young man decided to keep quiet and observe rather than jump between the two. As far as he knew, Rosalin would respond to the silencing with violence and he didn't want to be caught in between whatever was to follow.
Now that Jack had finally decided to interfere no further, he looked at Nyght curiously. He hadn't been aware she knew that particular magick. It was a powerful spell and typically difficult for an individual to learn. His respect grew for her abilities every time he witnessed a hint of what she was capable of. Cool.

Nice? She thinks she was being nice by insulting me?
She'd opened her mouth to retort and had found that she couldn't speak. Her vocal cords just weren't cooperating. She bared her still sharpened teeth in a silent snarl and began to pace, wondering how she was going to get out of this. She didn't quite know what Nyght was capable of and so she wasn't eager to fight her. Plus, there was the akhult. She knew it would defend Nyght and Rosalin was certain that Jack would feel the same way.
I'm no girl. In fact, I'm pretty sure I'm one of the oldest beings here. None of you could be much older than 25 or so. Even if you were immortal. Which neither of you are. She knew they couldn't hear her, but it was make her feel a bit better by yelling at them in her mind.
The sky was beginning to lighten even more, and Rosalin flinched away from the light before she smiled and held up her left hand. She paused and then snapped her fingers. The sky was dark once more. It was a useful thing especially when she didn't need to say anything for it to happen. Now she had as much time as she needed to get out of this situation without frying as well as find her prey before she went rabid.

Nyght watched, startled and yet amused when her spell of silence actually worked. The girl before them struggled to speak further, more then likely to defend her case harder but found herself unable to speak at all. Nyght's lips pulled in to a smirk, and she crossed her arms over her chest and nodded. She was quiet pleased with what had just happened, at least in regards to her sudden discovery of her ability to silence another being with magic. She figured she could have some serious fun with that one, but later.
Nyght watched as the other female suddenly raised her hand and the raising sun suddenly simply....disappeared. Nyght nodded, appreciative of that. A blood sucker who could do that would have quite the advantage, being able to prolong their ability to stay out longer then they should be able to. The extra darkness did not bother Nyght, and in fact she sort of enjoyed it with her ability to see perfectly in the dark. Returning her attention to the female, she looked at her raising her left eyebrow.
"If you are going to behave yourself, and stop spouting your hypocritical horse manure...then I will remove that spell from you and allow you to speak again. If, however, you want to continue with your lies....then I will leave it upon or simply place it upon you again. What say you?"

The young man looked back and forth between the two women, curious. They weren't fighting. Yet, anyways. Jack didn't fully understand, but he guessed that Rosalin must be afraid, or perhaps she was simply being cautious. That was certainly prudent, when one could not fully gauge the strength of a potential enemy before engaging them in mortal kombat. Anyways, the sun was to rise soon.
When the swiftly lightening sky was suddenly plunged back into darkness at a snap of Rosalin's fingers, Jack regarded her with a raised eyebrow. It was certainly a very functional ability, if situational. The young man hadn't met very many vampires or vampire-like creatures who were capable, or at the very least disciplined and willing enough, to learn the magick. It was interesting knowing that she had.
He wondered how old she was, what sort of battles she'd seen in her time. Perhaps she wasn't much older than they were. Or maybe she was ancient. Whatever Rosalin's age, Jack didn't take her for much of a threat. She'd been subdued easily enough by Nyght with only a single spell and the potential of further violence. The young man liked to think he hadn't let his ability go to his head, though. There was always a bigger fish out there somewhere.
