Hartnäckig is an incredibly large creature. He's built like a barrel, his shoulders so large he has to hunch over slighty. He has small, dark eyes, and is quite hairy.

Lae pulled out some soda, and Hartnäckig snorted. "There's no need for that Lae. I'll buy you a drink, some food. And tomorrow, after the hunt, I'll pay you in coin, so that you can explore this place a little more. Of course, if you have a taste for it, you can always join our Faction."
"We do lots of things from hunting monsters to building cities. I want to make this world a safer place to live in. At least, the villages. Ain't no use messing with the wild lands. Those creatures need a home too. As long as they don't go bothering none."
He signaled the waitress over. "Tonight's on me, fellow hunters."
As the waitress came over to take their orders, Hartnäckig eyed Ten. The name was ringing a bell, and a memory was just out of reach. He felt as if he'd met this man before, albeit he couldn't quite remember where.

"Oh, okay Mister Hartnäckig." She put her drink away, and asked for something fairly light from the waitress. Being of such short size, and a fae, her alcohol tolerance was.....near non-existent.
"So, you guys are the local guard? Like a police force?" She asked. It might not he a bad idea to join. If it was hunting, she would enjoy it, and building.....uh....she could probably do something.
"Are you guys well respected?" Having a little influence in a village or two would be helpful. It would get her some much needed trust, since she wouldn't get much being some random outsider. Though, even if she didn't earn respect very quickly, she was fairly pretty, and probably counted as 'exotic' around these parts, so maybe she could find someone to...'romance' for a bit, just to get some coin. She hoped it didn't come to that, but she was given her womanly parts for a reason.

"Sounds cool. What do you call yourselves?" The young wizard asked the minotaur after he'd expanded on the mission of his group. Lae had been invited to join but he hadn't, which hurt Jack's feelings a little bit. They seemed like a useful bunch to have around. "Has your group been around doing this a while or is this new, a new group or a new purpose?"
So Hartnäckig was paying? That was cool of him. Jack appreciated it but there wasn't really a whole lot he was planning on ordering, so there wasn't much he could do to take advantage of the offer. He'd mostly only ordered a drink at all to thank the bartender for directing him toward the minotaur. The young man wasn't much of a drinker and his diet consisted mainly of candy. But he'd see if they had anything tasty to eat.
"Do they have food here? What kind of food do they have? Something with meat, I hope." Jack scratched the stubble on his chin, hoping whatever they offered would sit well with his human stomach. Who knew what they were serving. It was a faun settlement, after all.
"You said you were from Earth, Lae. What part of the world do you call home? I'm a Michigan native, myself, of the U.S of A." The young wizard gave a warm, disarming smile from over the pewter tankard his ale had been served in. Jack was curious about both of them and while he'd learned a small bit more about the minotaur, he still knew next to nothing about the woman who'd stumbled into Nysa and gotten along almost like she'd lived her whole life there.

Lae looked over at Ten. "King's Wood, Challock, England. Cute little village, right in the middle, with a bajillion enchantments so that no one just stumbles in. But I ended up travelling a lot. Never been to Michigan, though. Is it any good?" She asked.
She'd been to America a few times, but not near there. Mainly New York and LA, because they were exciting and famous and were movie places! Movies are cool.
"By the way....what are you?" She asked bluntly. "You look like an average human with a weird name, but you're obviously not a stranger to what we are. Are you a shifter?" She wondered.
There could be a small chance that he was a human, but simply found out about all of the supernatural people in the world, and the apparent other worlds that exist. But again, small chance. She highly doubted it would happen.

“A bajillion enchantments, huh?” Jack grinned wildly, the thought of a place so steeped in magic set the young mage’s heart beating. He would have to visit there at some point, though it would probably be best if he secured his foothold in Nysa first. “You’ll have to take me there some time. I’m sure it’d leave some heads scratched if I just stumbled in.”
“Michigan’s a gorgeous place, even more so if you can get past the cities. Lots of natural beauty. The lakes are really something, even in winter. Especially in winter.” The young man answered when she asked about his home state. Truth be told, he hadn’t visited in a while. Maybe he should stop by old haunts, check up on old friends.
When Lae asked what he was, the young man was at a loss for words. Or, at least, he seemed to be. It was kind of a strange question, asked awfully bluntly. Jack was more or less what he appeared to be, although knowing he appeared to be just some ‘average human with a weird name’ was a little painful. He was way better looking and in far superior physical shape than your average guy. Plus his name wasn’t weird. But there was no time to pout. Hmmm, to lie or not to lie.
“I’m just a guy. Not much more than I appear to be, except for a little magical talent. Tenebrous is the name I use, but it’s not the one I was given. Well, not the original one, at least. I’m definitely not a shifter. How'd you end up a traveler? Was it just wanderlust or did you have a specific reason for leaving home?”

"Yeah, I'll take you down in Spring when the flowers are out. Best time to go." She grinned.
"Wow, Michigan sounds nice. I'll be sure to bring a coat, and proper clothing." She chuckled.
"Eh. No reason for travelling, really. I just kinda got bored of the same old sites, and decided to go see the world, and make myself more of an interesting person. Oh, and I had the address of a few actors from a friend, so I had to go visit them. I'm not allowed in 50 feet of one of them." Lae scratched her head. "But it was worth leaving home. I saw really awesome things, beautiful things. The world is a great place, and I've just found a whole new one." She sighed.
"So, you much of a traveller, or do you have a life goal that you're doing that involves here? Like, a pilgrimage or something?"

"Eh, I travel a lot, for various reasons. But I dunno if I'd call myself a traveler," The young man replied, scratching at his chin as he thought. "I don't think I've ever traveled just for traveling's sake. Wandering aimlessly... It's not really my thing, ya know? I do best when I have a specific goal in mind, no matter how lofty it may be."
Jack took a sip of his drink, wondering how much he should say. The young mage didn't normally talk about his interests and most people weren't interested in his interests. But he figured he might as well. "To be honest, I'm in Nysa mostly for the magic. A whole new world, isolated from our own for gods only know how long? They've gotta have some interesting, unique magic. Even if I can't master it, I'd still like to study it a bit. Perhaps even come to understand it one day."
The young mage leaned back and sighed, a wistful smile on his face and magical thoughts on his mind. He knew so much but, most importantly, he knew how little that was. A thousand thousand years wouldn't be enough for him to learn all there was to know. Would it? As it stood, he hadn't even attained immortality, that elusive goal so many sold their souls for. Jack wasn't in any hurry, though. Bishmer Heiop had simply shed his mortal coil when ready, beyond such petty concerns. Jack liked to think that the only way to truly overcome mortality was to stop worrying about it, lest one never slip its grasp for fear of failure and the ravages of time.
"So is that your plan? To just wander Nysa and take in the dangerous, beautiful sights? Maybe find a Nysan celebrity or two to harass for a time?"
