Sol yawned. Watching the flames dance in the fireplace was begining to grow old. Correction, it was already old. Sol was extremely bored.
Sol leaned forward, chin in hand. All he could think about was how bored he was. Sol blew a stray strand of hair from in front of his eyes with a short puff of breath. Sol thought about how it had all began.
Sol had been walking the streets of Paris. Just passing through, really, when he had seen her. Next thing he knew he was carrying Chaos across the world. And after that, in an attempt to save the life of someone he didnt even know, he was willingly poisoning himself!
Sol shook his head. He had been doing some extremely uncharacteristic things lately. Sol nearly fought an entire clan of angels, and then he walked away from one of the most delicious meals he had come across in a while. Now he was in northern Canada being plagued by murderously realistic dreams.
Sol sighed. [glow=red,2,300]"How did all of this happen?"[/glow] he asked himself.
"Is this all!?"The young demon screamed to the heavens"Is this all I am!? Where the hell was Sol?
Chaos had figured out that this was a dream. How else could she explain the whole being human thing? She couldn't. Because she wasn't human. However, she was right now. Another thing was why this place. She had never been in any place like this before, yet it didn't seem like one of those wacky dreams you had. It seemed like a genuine memory. But she had never been human; she was born an angel. And in the end, that's what it all came down to.
Another thing Chaos was concerned about was the apparent master of the house. He didn't seem like your typical bad guy. He seemed like a....snake. A very charming and intelligent and dominant snake. She didn't like it. Bad guys were supposed to very displeasing to be around and generally stupid. Occasionally you got the intelligent-but-cocky type, but you never got...this. It was like fascism. Listen to me and do everything I say, but also love me...or die. The other thing was, he knew what was going on and he knew that she didn't. And the worst part.
He found it amusing.
Chaos pressed her cheek to the floor, breathing heavily. She had officially rubbed her arms raw and her ankles were bleeding. Attempting to attack 'Master' did not work. He leaned against the wall, an amused look on his face. She glared, wishing she wasn't chained. Even in a weak human body, she could do so much damage.
"Ah ah, let's not think bad thoughts about our master. It's really not nice." The man said. Chaos glared.
"It's also not nice to chain people to floors and then look down at them." She hissed.
"If you weren't such a bad employee, I wouldn't have to chain you to the floor. And you're a slave. The only way I can look at you is down. After all, you really couldn't be on equal standing with me." He scoffed and she bared teeth. He leaned down. "Why don't you just give up? I could let you out. You could go back to your job. You could get those wounds taken care of, before infections arise. Why do you fight so hard?"
"Because despite what you may think, you are absolutely nothing to me. You hold no ground with me, and you sure as hell ain't above me. You're pathetic." Chaos replied sharply.
SMACK
Chaos felt her eyes widen. He hit her. He hit her in the face. Opened-palmed. For some specific reason she felt very degraded by that fact. She looked up at the man. He looked as composed as ever, but a fire lit his eyes up.
"You really are truly ignorant of the power I hold. Especially over you. You selfish, facile little girl. You never thought that I would ever be who I am now. You looked down at me first." He sneered and Chaos gave him a very annoyed and confused look.
"What are you talking about? I've never seen you in my life." He laughed.
"No, not in this life. But in another, yes." He said and Chaos gave him a very annoyed look.
"What are you trying to pull. All supernatural beings know that essentially there's no such thing as reincarnation. There's stories, but even those don't make sense half the time." Chaos stated as if it was obvious.
"That's because true stories are lost, as always. And when reincarnated, you lose all memories of your former lives. It makes sense no one believes in it when no one can really prove it." He said as if it too was also obvious. Chaos glared.
"So what did I do that made you seek revenge on me.?" chaos asked in a very bored tone. The collar of her shirt was yanked upward. The 'master' wasn't grinning now. Looks like this whole master game was over.
"Don't sound so uninterested. You took everything away from me. You took away my family. My home. My life. You condemned me. You used me and left me to rot. You wanted jewelry, I bought you precious gems. You wanted money, I gave you all I had. You wanted a home, I welcomed you into mine. You wanted love, I gave you all of mine. A petty thief, you were and I chose to look past that. But it still wasn't enough. You took all that I gave you and stole it. And you ran. Ran as fast as you could." The man said, eyes filled with a burning hate. Chaos felt her eyes widen.
"Why bring Sol into this? He's innocent in all this." Chaos asked and the man simply laughed and threw her to the ground. he stood and loomed over her, glaring.
"Innocent? Solemn Creed? He's the one that took you away from me. In all this, his hands are the dirtiest."

Sol heard Chaos groaning and murmering in her sleep and he immediatly snapped to attention. He sprang up from his resting place, glancing about the room as a force of habit.
Sol rushed over to the bedside, an alarmed expression on his face. The dreams it had to be. They were most likely hurting her and if he didnt wake her up she would die.
Sol pulled the covers off of her. Her wrists were bruised and scraped as if she was being held in crude shackles of some sort. Sol had seen the effects before possibly experienced it, although he couldnt remember exactly at that particular moment.
Her elbows and knees were also developing scrapes and bruises, bleeding even. As he watched she developed bruises on her face as if she was being beaten.
Sol could watch no longer. He shook her, attempting to wake her up.
[glow=red,2,300]"Chaos! Wake up!"[/glow]
Sol began to grow desperate. He even went so far as to melt some snow and splash it over her. All it would take was one serious wound and it would be over. Unlike Chaos, Sol was not skilled in healing.

Chaos wasn't sure she could wrap her mind around what was going on. She decided to throw whatever knowledge she had on past lives out of the window- which wasn't much to begin with. It made it easier for her to understand. So, saying for a split second that she had known this man in her past life, what was shocking her the most about his story was that Sol had known her. It was so weird. If she was technical about it, Sol had known two Chaos' in his one life. Chaos had stopped struggling as curiosity got the better of her.
"Saying for a one minute that I believed you, tell me what I was like. What did I look like? How did I act? Did I even have the same name?" Chaos asked, her voice a mix of disbelief and intrigue. The brunette's face seemed to glaze over as he began to reminisce.
"No, your name was Rayne. You were so beautiful. You were a redhead. You started out as a petty thief, a good one, but poor all the same. But you were so kindhearted and lonely. My heart broke for you. And when I took you in, you just became more beautiful." He said and glanced down at her with sudden distaste. "You were behaved and now you're nothing but a barbaric animal." Chaos thought about lunging, but winced at the thought of further damaging her achingly raw wrists.
"How do you even know we're the same person. We could be two completely different people. I'm apparently nothing like her."
"I had my doubts too. However, you share the same soul and the same eyes. The eyes are very definite. You kept them, I was surprised. And when I saw you running around with Solemn Creed, well my belief hardened into fact. Solemn probably recognizes you too." The man's gaze hardened.
"And Sol somehow took me- her- the old me away from you? What did he do? Offer me a better deal then you? Steal me away? You're getting angry over a lost fight? You're doing all this for a lost love? You're pathetic." Chaos said scoffing.
Suddenly her airway was cut off as Chaos was grabbed by the throat and hauled up so roughly, the chains broke. She could've cried out if she wasn't busy clawing at the hand around her throat. The man was heated. His eyes were blazing with anger and a low growl was building in his throat. Chaos struggled in mid-air but to no avail. He spoke in a deadly voice that could cut glass.
"Pathetic? Better deal? As if that low life could do anything fairly and by the books. He didn't steal you away in the middle of the night like some knight in shining armor. This isn't a fairytale, this is reality. Get used to it. What happened to Rayne was so inhumane. Solemn Creed is nothing short of a monster." His next words froze Chaos's blood and made her skin pale. "He killed her. Right in front of me. And I wouldn't be surprised if he was with you now just to do it again. Why don't you pass on a little message for me. My name is Omar and I will seek my revenge."
And with those words spoken, Chaos was thrown into the cement wall behind her. Her head cracked against the stone and her world went hazy before going black.
Chaos shot up gasping and flailing. She slid back off the bed, hitting the floor hard and coughing. She grabbed at her throat coughing and gasping for air. Her head was throbbing in pain and she reached a hand to the back of her head and brought it back bloody. She might have a concussion. She might have brain damage. She might bleed to death. She might be even having a panic attack. But the only thing going through her mind was that Sol had killed her. He killed her. She warded him away and she moved farther back. her voice came out slightly raspy and in great pauses.
"You.....you....you....killed me..." Chaos managed out still trying to breathe correctly.

Sol was so relieved when Chaos finally awoke but she looked at him as if he were some sort of monster. Almost as if she expected that he was going to attempt to hurt her.
This confused him. Sol would think that after all he had gone through it would be obvious that he would never harm a hair upon her head. He had shed blood for her, killed for her.
Chaos accused Sol of killing her. This only added to his confusement. He would never harm her, let alone kill her! And besides, she was sitting before him, hurt but alive. Her injuries were even caused by the dreams, he had never hurt her.
[glow=red,2,300]"Chaos, I dont understand. What are you talking about?"[/glow]

Chaos stopped moving backwards when her back hit a wall. Even the softer movement was enough to make her head pound and her vision got fuzzy. But she blinked it away and focused her gaze on Sol. He didn't know what she was talking about. She didn't believe him.
"Rayne." Chaos said having to force the name out. "You killed her. You killed me." Tear threatened to spill over and Chaos cut herself off.
Chaos didn't know what was going on, but she didn't feel safe. She didn't want to be here. She was weak and very vulnerable. Her only exit was behind Sol and she was going nowhere near him at this point. The smell of the blood was all too overwhelming. She could barely think. Questions swam through her head anyways though. Why did he kill Rayne? How did he kill her? Did he even know that they were one in the same? Did he have a hidden agenda. Does he really care? Who was he?
Chaos's stomach turned at the thought that she couldn't trust Sol. He had done so much for her. Was it really all part of some sick game? Was he playing with her? Chaos felt sick. And dizzy. And confused. She didn't know what to do. This combination made for a very bad, very paranoid, very terrified Chaos. She wanted her knives. She wanted a weapon.

Chaos backed up all the way against the wall and she glanced at the door several times, as if trying to escape him. Sol took a step back to give her some room since he felt that he was the source of her discomfort.
The name Rayne sounded oddly familiar to him but he could quite place it. Chaos accused him of killing her which explaind it. Sol had killed quite a few women and after doing it for as long as he had you tend to forget little things like names.
But the confusing part was that Chaos said that this Rayne had been her. He didnt understand. As far as Sol knew, ressurection was impossible. But when you think about it, it was a pretty difficult thing to prove. If someone died and came back with no memory, how would one know they had been ressurected at all.
[glow=red,2,300]"Chaos, what youre saying isnt making any sense. Please, calm down. I would never hurt you."[/glow]

Chaos rubbed her temple in frustration and winced. She was frustrated because she was so confused. Sol spoke words of comfort, but she wasn't sure what exactly to believe. She had been through too much in the past couple days, her brain was overloading. Sol swore he didn't know what she was talking about, but she couldn't explain it because she wasn't sure what she was talking about either. She tried her best though.
"Rayne. She was a redhead. My-ah my eyes. You killed her. In front of the man." Chaos said, her brow wrinkling. Chaos was trying to remember his name. It started with an O. "Omar. His name was Omar." Chaos finally got out.
Chaos hated this. She hated feeling like this. She never thought she would be scared of Sol. She never thought she would have to worry about him hurting her. Yet, here she was, against a wall and trying to get as far away from him as possible. She wondered if she made a dash for the door if he would stop her. She knew he could, but she wasn't sure if he would. She was so conflicted. She knew she shouldn't trust the man, but he was so adamant and passionate about his story. And she knew she should trust Sol, but in all honesty she had only known him for a few days. She was at her wits end.

Sol cocked his head to the side slightly. He did not like where this was going. He had never wanted for Chaos to find out that he killed people on a daily basis for fun.
He shook his head again. Chaos was around 19, if she had really been ressurected then the killing she had talked about had happened practically 20 years ago. Sol had probably killed hundreds of thousands since then.
[glow=red,2,300]"Chaos, I do not recognise those names. What you are talking about, if i did it, happened around 20 years ago. How can you possibly expect me to remember something like that?"[/glow]
Sol was worried. The last thing he wanted was for Chaos to think that she had a reason to be scared of him.

Chaos felt her eyes widen at Sol's words. What did he mean? How could he not forget? It was only twenty years ago. Unless....her stomach turned at the though of there being more victims. More girls like Rayne. How many? How many girls had there been? So many that he forgot about one twenty years ago?
"Stay away from me." Chaos said looking at the exit again.
Chaos slowly stood on shaky legs. She waited until her vision was completely cleared and the world stopped spinning before taking an unsteady and shaky step. She needed to leave. She walked slowly around Sol, never taking her eyes off of him. She was surprised he actually let her go. She grabbed the door with one hand and pushed herself out the door.
Chaos hurt. Everywhere. Especially her head. But she pushed herself to stumble forward, grabbing a tree every couple steps. She knew she wasn't getting anywhere like this, but she had to try. She was confused and scared. Of Sol. A hysterical laugh bubbled out of her throat. It was such a foreign thought. To be scared of Sol. She grabbed another tree for support and let her head rest lightly on the rough bark. She was surprised at how shaken up she was. It was so unlike her. She hated this.

Sol watched Chaos carefully as she stood on shaking legs and barely managed to limp to the door. The sight pained him. She was determined to get away from him, even going so far as to leave the cabin in her condition.
He followed her, keeping a good distance so as not to upset her further. Chaos' words still stung him deeply. She didnt want to be near him but he had to explain himself.
[glow=red,2,300]"Chaos! You are not well, come back to the cabin. I still dont understand what is wrong. You know how old I am. My mind is already clogged with memories, what is 20 years to me?"[/glow]

Chaos whipped around at the sound Sol's voice. Her vision wavered and she fell down. She landed on her side in the snow and shivered. She waited until the ground became level again to try and move. She sat up, but didn't stand. She could barely see Sol's feet from where she was looking. She didn't move her gaze. She felt like throwing up. Tears stung her eyes.
"I don't know what to do. I don't know who to believe. And my head hurts. And I...I just don't want to do this." Chaos said covering her hands with her face.
Closing her eyes seemed to make everything just a bit better. The bright light wasn't assaulting her eyes and making her head hurt. She didn't have to look at Sol. And tears couldn't escape. She could talk a little freer when she didn't have to look at anything.
"Are there more girls like Rayne? Why did you kill her. How many more people have there been after her? Did you know that I was her?" Chaos paused before asking the last question. "Are you going to kill me?"
Post by Solemn Creed on Apr 1, 2012 0:57:40 GMT -5
Sol started towards Chaos when she fell with worry plain on his face. With the damage to her arms legs and knees, especially her head, she should not be up an walking around. It was a testament to her willpower that she had made it out of the cabin in the first place!
When Chaos asked him her question he closed his eyes. It was not one that he wanted to answer but Chaos was apparently giving him no choice.
Sol sighed and opened his eyes. He would tell her the truth. For the first time in these long centuries he would tell one person the complete and unfettered truth. It would hurt profusely, it could possibly even kill him, but he would tell her, just her, only her.
[glow=red,2,300]"Chaos, listen to all I have to say before you make any judgment. There have been... Alot of girls. Over these centuries I have been filled with agony."[/glow]
Sol had to pause for a moment the pain was so great. His entire body hurt all over. The voices were screaming at their maximum volume and they made his skull feel fit to burst.
[glow=red,2,300]"I have lashed out and hurt alot of people. Not because I enjoy it, but because I have had no choice. After the incident I spoke to you about, my psyche has been damaged almost irreparably. My instincts, we all have them, call for me to hunt. Like an animal! But the prey of my anscestors past were humans."[/glow]
Sol gave out a cry and stumbled over to a tree to lean against. His breathing grew heavy and he reached up and drug his hand down his face, leaving cuts that quickly began to bleed from where he clawed himself. Momentarily distracted enough from the pain, he continued.
[glow=red,2,300]"I can fight my instincts, and possibly lose all sanity, or i can appease them every now and then. To be honest, I rarely kill anyone for no reason. Only maybe one every few weeks. Usually I can satisfy them by appeasing some other urge or by eating an animal, but sometimes I cant help it."[/glow]
Sol took his supporting hand from the tree and began to walk towards Chaos, blood dripping from his face. He knelt next to her and spoke softly, reassuringly.
[glow=red,2,300]"Chaos, I assure you this, I would never hurt you, let alone kill you. I never had any idea that the poor woman I killed would one day be you. If i had, I would have never harmed a single hair on her head. This I swear to you, upon my true name."[/glow]
Sol knelt next to Chaos and awaited her judgment. He hoped that after all the agony he had just gone through, she would understand.

Chaos felt her heart ache when Sol had said there had been so many other girls. But when she looked up and saw the pain on his face as he continued, her heart broke. She hated this. She jumped as he cried out and she moved to stand and help him, but she the world spun and she resumed her earlier stance on the ground. She watched as the snow below Sol turned red and stared up at him to see his marred face. She felt a tear slip down her cheek.
Sol spoke, but he sounded so pained Chaos couldn't bare to hear. He said something about being forced to act the way he does. He said something about his psyche being damaged and killing people for no reason only every couple of weeks. And then he knelt down next to her and told her that he would never harm her.
But Chaos couldn't focus on that with, she was more focused on the cuts. They looked deep. How could she not believe him? She cupped his face and tried her best to ignore the blood. She focused all her energy on her hands and they started to glow as she murmured soft words to him.
"I'm sorry. I am, I promise, please just don't. I just- don't. Don't hurt yourself. If you don't want to talk about it, you don't have to. It's okay. It's okay." Chaos said though she felt like she was reassuring herself more then him. She watched as the cuts healed up nicely, the scar tissue fading away. She pulled away with a ragged breath. The world would not stay still for her. She tried to take deep breaths.

Sol was truly concerned. Chaos continued to try to get up and every time she fell back to the ground. She could not walk and probably had a concussion. But he was confused.
Chaos healed the cuts on his face and they were gone within seconds, a thing of the past now, something only to be remembered. She told him that he didnt have to tell her anything else and he nodded. Sol hoped beyond all hope that she was no longer afraid of him and they could go back to being friends.
[glow=red,2,300]"Chaos, why dont you just heal yourself? Surely if you can heal me then you can mend your own wounds."[/glow]
Sol moved to pick Chaos up so that he could bring her back to the cabin but he paused and looked at her to see if she would allow him.
