Kyrian stared at the dragon that now stood before him, though he was there the whole time. The elemental's mouth gaped a little at the sheer size of the creature, and at his presence. Dragon's were a race that pronounced pride simply from standing, not even having to do anything to declare their presence. A truly magnificent race.
As he had been suspecting since the growl, the male was a Dragon and the Tayva was his Draconian. Kyrian scratched at his chin, knowing that most dragons didn't care about most other races, and some even held disdain for any race that wasn't a dragon. He hoped that this dragon was a least a little friendly, though the fact that Kyrian was still alive spoke testament to the dragon's temperament.
Kyrian laughed at two things. The first being that he now knew the dragon's name. And the second was Tayva's honest question regarding his own race. He decided that she was not a threat... And might actually help him in what he had come here for; interacting with dragons. To be able to know such majestic creatures and fit into their society would be something which only one person in the whole history of his family had accomplished. The first of their line of darkness elementals, Destorian Tidus, his namesake and believed to be the very first darkness elemental ever. But that was beside the point... Kyrian had to answer her question.
"I am not sure whether or not you have dealt with elementals before, but I am one. Specifically, I am a darkness elemental, of the Tidus bloodline. That last part will probably not mean anything to anyone besides elementals. Well, that's a story for another time. For right now, I'm ready to answer any questions you might have... Though I do have my own question for you."

"I know very little about Elementals I'm afraid. You're actually the first one I've ever met." Tayva said with a small smile, before something clicked in her head. She had just been about to get a meal started before they had started talking again. Remembering this, she quickly hurried to her bag, grabbing a pot and a couple of cans of soup. "Sorry! I'm a little absent minded at times!?" she apologized, before returning the items back by the fire pit, opening the small cans and pouring them into the pot.
"Well, I guess the first thing I'm curious about is why you're out here. These places are fairly remote, and a lot of people avoid them because of the wilderness... and the local dragons. Of course, nobody really knows that there's dragons out here. Speaking of which, would you be able to keep that on the down-low? The last thing we need is for more people to be snooping around here and disturbing them." Tayva started, getting the pot hung over the fireplace, adding some extra water into the concoction to thin it out a bit.
It was obvious that she was familiar with the area, or at least a resident to know enough about the population. This was where her kind had originated from, and Talos' home as well. And they had to be protective of it.

Kyrian let out a small chuckle as the female apologized and rushed to get the food started. "No worries... I would've just found something to eat sooner or later." The male looked out over the lake as the female fretted over the food and dumped the cans of soup into a pot which was placed over the fire. His eyes soon turned back and settled upon the dragon, wondering what was going on in his head during all of this.
The male laughed for a second time as Tayva asked why he was there, and then went on to explain why few people came to this region. He flashed the female a friend smile. "You know, you just answered your own question... I came here because of the dragons." He sniffed the air as the smell of the soup played with his nose, and in turn taunted his empty stomach. "And as for my question... I was wondering if you could lead me to one?"

Tayva paused the preparation of their meal as he questioned about taking him to the draconic clan, looking a little worried. "Umm... I'm not sure to be honest. Most Dragons aren't that fond of outsiders... " Tayva frowned. It wasn't necessarily that she disliked outsiders, rather most of them were considered fair game to hungry and hunting dragons. Of course, Dragons could pick apart Draconians from normal prey, supposedly having a scent that differed from most other living things. At least, that's how Talos explained it to her when she asked.
"What business do you have with them, if I may ask? If it's something important, I might be able to get you in, but know that it's a risk for both of us." Tayva added, beginning to go back to work cooking once again. Draconians were normally seen as equals to the Dragons they were bound to, though they were held at the same standards as other dragons were. This meant that they were not allowed to bring outsiders into their grounds. However, if Kyrian was familiar with the clan, and knew of their existence, then there had to be some reason.
As they spoke, Talos wandered off into the forest, looking for a quick meal while the two smaller beings discussed their business. He was only a thought away if Tayva needed him after all.

Kyrian sighed as he realized that this female was less of a novice than he thought. She was actually questioning him about it. His original plan was to use her to find the location of the dragon and sneak in by himself. But now that plan wouldn't work.
The elemental looked the female in the eye and shrugged. He waited until Talos walked off before he decided that he could speak again to the female, knowing that she would be more understanding regarding what he wanted.
He clasped his hands together and began twiddling his thumbs as he organized his words. "I want to talk with a particular dragon... A friend of my family, I guess you could say. By now he'd be pretty old, I think it was about 1,500 years ago that he knew my family... Anyway, I've been tracking him down for some time so that I can ask him a few questions. Though I'd really need your help in communication with him." Kyrian wasn't sure how many ancients were in this area, though he new that there were never usually more than two in the same region due to their immense power and size.
He looked up at Tayva in order to see her reaction to what he had said.

Tayva rubbed her chin in thought, trying to ponder who it could have been that he wanted to see. She hadn't been back to the area in quite some time, as the Draconians lived separately from the Dragons. They did mingle every now and then, but not on any regular basis. The only ones that did go often enough were the young Draconians, who weren't quite ready to leave the land with their partner yet.
"Well last time I was there, I think there were about three ancients. But it's been a few months since then. Anyways if you give me time to think on it, I'll see what I can do to help you." she replied, offering him a smile. She did want to help him out, but they both had to make sure that the trip would be worth it. Dragons could sometimes be fickle creatures after all.
Hearing the soup begin to boil, Tayva quickly went back to tending to their meal, pouring out two hearty portions into bowls, one of which she gave to him with the spoon already stuck inside. "Here, I know you're probably feeling much better from your injuries, but it'll help if you eat something too, to get your strength back."
Post by Kyrian Tidus on Oct 13, 2012 15:34:33 GMT -5
Kyrian though about that... Three ancients in a close range was a very dangerous thing due to their size, power, and fact that they were usually the grumpiest and most ferocious of dragons. It would be hard to put three into the same area without having them constantly bicker each other and sometimes even getting into fights. And he was only looking for one, so having two more would just throw him off.
Kyrian gladly took the bowl that was held out to him and he smelled its contents and lets its warmth seep into his hands before he placed it in his lap in order to warm his legs. The male placed a spoonful of the soup into his mouth and his moaned slightly at the pleasant taste it left in his mouth. "Delicious." Suddenly, something forced its way into his mind that might help in his search for the dragon. "The dragon's name starts with a K... I don't remember the name, but it starts with a K."
The elemental went back to silently eating his soup before another thought popped up in his head... The were short a being. "Where did Talos go?"
Post by Tayva Aschaund on Oct 13, 2012 17:43:24 GMT -5
Upon hearing that the name began with a 'k', Tayva scratched her chin in thought. "It might take me a bit of time to remember the name, and whether or not I know the dragon. Ancients are more reclusive than others, so it could take time to find your friend." Tayva replied, slowly beginning to drink from her own bowl. The soup was still far too hot for her to eat, so she'd have to wait for awhile before the meal wouldn't burn her mouth. It had been so long since she last visited the area, but it would be nice to return back to where she first met Talos.
As Kyrian questioned where her companion had gone off to, she looked in the direction of his footsteps, the dragon having headed off into the forest by the looks of it. "It looks like he went off to go do some hunting." she started, knowing that dragons weren't as fond of human food. They tended to prefer raw meat over cooked. "Dragons prefer raw meat over cooked, so its normal for him to wander off for small periods of time to go feed. So long as he doesn't drag back his meal with him, then we normally don't have any problems."

Kyrian sighed, not wanting to involve this woman in his search for the dragon. He knew the dragon's name, Kovinth, as well as his general vicinity. Honestly, he knew this thanks to his father, who had left him yet another letter with clues on how to reach him. However, Kyrian had learned by now that whenever his father left behind a 'clue,' it was really just for Kyrian to go someplace so that he could learn valuable skills or needed information in order to help him later in life. The darkness elemental wondered what this dragon had to teach him.
He silently continued to eat his soup as he nodded his head to Tayva, not really hearing her explanation to the question which he already practically knew the answer to. He sighed and gazed up at the stars which were beginning to make their appearance as the darkness slowly overtook the day. The male smiled, thinking about what had happened to him today, and laid out upon the log feeling sleep come over him. He looked lazily at the girl, the flames bringing out her beauty as the light danced across her skin. The elemental smiled and closed his eyes, feeling safe in her presence.

The rest of their meal had been fairly silent, Talos returning some time later, teeth stained crimson from his earlier hunt. Fortunately he didn't bring back any remnants of his meal apart from the stains. Returning back with heavy steps, he moved to Tayva's side, slumping down on the ground in front of the fire, his reptilian eyes gleaming in the light of the blaze. Tayva glanced over every now and then at their new companion, who seemed to be falling asleep on the spot. Tayva still wasn't sure about Kyrian's motives with the ancient dragon, though he seemed to be somewhat knowledgeable about what it was he was looking for.
With a weak smile, Tayva got to her feet, silently collecting his empty bowl and setting it beside the tent, before returning to the fire pit and removing the pot from the dying flame. She set it down, allowing Talos to finish off whatever was left within the container. Watching her friend eat, Tayva sat down beside the dragon, scratching his underside with a sleepy smile. The dragon let out a loud growling yawn, before curling around the girl, encompassing her in his warm scales. And with a small content sigh, the Draconian dozed off within the presence of her Dragon, protected from whatever danger may have come.

The male scratched his stomach as he woke up, his shirt halfway up his torso and his right jeans leg was pushed up to his knee with multiple small scrapes on his leg. He really had to stop moving around so much in his sleep. The elemental sat up lazily and looked straight up at the moon in the middle of the sky. It had to be around 1 o'clock form the looks of it. He looked towards the female sleeping against her dragon who had his eyes closed. Kyrian couldn't tell if he was sleeping or awake, even though his eyesight was the same in absolute darkness as it was at daytime.
He yawned and stretched as he walked away form the camp a little bit in order to spring a leak. Walking back to the camp, he noticed Talos' eyes still closed. He was either a very careful guardian, or sleeping. Either way, the elemental sat upon the ground and leaned against the log, watching the female sleep. He wondered what to do now.

Talos began to stir as Kyrian shifted upright on the log, opening one eye lazily to watch the man awaken from his slumber. The dragon had indeed fallen asleep during the night, though with his keen senses, he was capable of listening in for any danger that may have come upon the group. Plus with Tayva protected within his scales, she wouldn't come to any danger from the wild beasts of the forest.
With a small growl, the red dragon rose its head off the ground, letting out a yawn which revealed rows of sharp meat-slicing teeth. He blinked a few times to shake the weariness from his eyes, before carefully unfurling one of his wings and tail, allowing a half asleep Tayva to crawl out from underneath. Sliding down his wing and onto the ground, she looked up to see her hair a mess, attempting to comb through it with her fingers. She always felt more comfortable sleeping with Talos nearby, as most wildlife did not dare get too close to a sleeping dragon, their instinct prohibiting it. Humans on the other hand did not follow their animalistic instincts, and at times were too stupid to realize the danger.

The darkness elemental smiled as the dragon before him yawned and released Tayva, who sleepily tried to fix her hair. Wearily eyeing Talos, Kyrian approached the female and extended his hand to her. "It'd probably be easier to go bathe yourself and wash your hair." The male looked out at the lake with a thoughtful expression upon his face, remembering how chilly it had been when he bathed earlier; and that was while the sun was still up.
The elemental sighed as he took it upon himself to look through the two's bags in order to see if they had what he was looking for. Yes indeed! A set of bath towels and some soap and shampoo, though it seemed like the draconian had forgotten the miracle of conditioner. He shook his head before carrying the bath set back to the two who laid before an empty fire place and looked thoughtfully at the fireplace this time. "Excuse me, Talos... Could you please re-light the fire?"
Kyrian didn't wait for a response before suddenly disappearing. Elsewhere in the world, a male appeared out of nowhere. Thank goodness Lowe's wasn't open all night, or he might have been in trouble as he quickly grabbed onto a bathtub and focused on being back at the campsite, vanishing from Lowe's with the bathtub. The male once again appeared at the campsite, this time with a bathtub. He smiled at Tayva and picked up the pot she had used earlier for the soup. "Your bath shall be ready shortly, madame."
The male carried the pot down to the lake to fill it up before going back to the campsite and poring its contents into the tub which he had brought back right over the fireplace. This way the water would heat up quickly, and stay heated. The male repeated the process four times, until the tub was filled up to a reasonable height, and then carried large rocks over to the fire and placed them in between the fire and the bottom of the tub. This way, the rocks would transfer the warmth from the fire in order to keep Tayva safe from major burns. He smiled as he stepped away from the tub. "It's ready Tayva, you can get in." The male turned around, away from the bath and sat down, checking the state of his katana. "Don't worry. I won't peek."

"That might be a good idea...it's been ages since I've had a good bath." Tayva replied, letting out a small yawn while covering her mouth, trying to hide it from direct view. She was a little confused as he started digging through their bags, though it wasn't until he stopped that the idea of bathing supplies clicked into her head. Sure enough as he revealed his findings, she saw the shampoo and towels that she had purchased only a week ago, having the intent on using them one of these days to get cleaned up. Of course the opportunity never arose, since there never seemed to be anywhere that she could properly bathe.
Immediately after asking about heating up the water, he vanished from sight, much to the pairs surprise. Talos let out a small huff, not caring much for being bossed around by the smaller man, though Tayva looked up at him as he let out the sound. She seemed to be in favour of his suggestion for some reason. So with a shrug of his shoulders, the lizard extended his neck, turning his head toward the burnt out fire pit, and with a small snort of flame re-lit the pile of logs. The flames weren't as strong as they were yesterday, but they were good enough. As quickly as he seemed to vanish, Kyrian soon returned, with what appeared to be a bath tub. As he started to fill it up, Tayva wandered over toward the fixture, a little baffled about how he had managed to get the thing here in the first place.
As she was offered the warm tub to take a bath, Tayva couldn't help but grin sheepisly at the gesture, feeling a bit of warmth in her cheeks. "T-Thanks!" she replied, not having expected such a kind gesture from the man. She waited until he turned his gaze, with the promise of not looking, before quickly slipping out of her clothes, and hopping into the warm water. If it were up to her she would stay in the tub all day, though Tayva knew there were plans to be made. A mental question of help was made to Talos, the dragon shifting into a more manageable human form once more, the male figure now helping Tayva wash her hair. Since he was of a different species, she didn't feel as strange sitting in a bath tub naked in front of him.

Kyrian whistled softly to himself, a slow, merry tune that went to a song about a dragon in an apple orchard that his uncle Tiberius had taught him years ago. As he whistled, the elemental gazed upwards at the moon, wondering what exactly the song meant, and why there was an apple tree in the center of the Tidus family crest with a dragon curled around its bottom. Whatever...
The male had a hard time facing the forest as he heard the female bathing behind him. Naturally, his needs as a man tried to make him turn around and look, yet he was a man of honor, if anything else, and kept his promise. He did not even sneak a single peek over his shoulder as he waited, slowly breaking out into a low song, his harmonious voice on the borderline of bass, yet strangely light. "For when the apple falls in fall, that's when the dragon comes to call. Feed an apple to the dragon and he shall want them all."
