Alex accepts the handgun with a nod, understanding everything she said about the firearm. She'd make sure the safety is on and slides it in her her belt, loosening it a notch for the handgun in,"Right.." she'd respond to the information. At least she won't be completely defenseless should some hellish monster attacks. Alex would then take note of the watch order when they take their first break. Just thinking about a break made her think back to the groceries she's carrying. She sighs, glad most of it contains non perishables.
She snaps her attention from her bag of goodies and looks around in a bit of awe. She'd hope no hellish creature would attack them yet. Her attention wonders to Ghost a moment, remembering his wingspan and can't help but wonder if he's a daemon and if so, is comfortable here. She doesn't let herself stare too long, not wanting to have her eyes burned out, soul torn a sunder, or whatever it is that they do to humans. She'd shudder for a brief moment at the concept.
Alex tries to focus her attention elsewhere while listening closely, really knowing nothing about her location. She'd let a small laugh before killing it. She shrugs figuring she should explain what she found so funny and ironic,"I always said I wanted to visit other worlds... suppose I should be careful what I say?" Alex hopes she could break the ice some on an already awkward trip.
She isn't sure what this goddess, least that's what she assumes she is, has planned for her, or if she was merely a mistake... Possibly a wrong number so to speak? But then again, do deities even make mistakes? Part of her hopes not.

Kyrian watched as Katrina’s hand went to the dog tags hanging around her neck after he spoke to her, and noticed that she had three rather than the normal two, a small look of sympathy temporarily coming over his face. After a small pause, she looked at him with a small smile upon her face, and explained that she was already planning on giving Alex one of her handguns at a later time. However, she seemed to have changed her mind and, instead, turned around to hand Alex the Five-Seven. As she explained the particularities of the weapon, Kyrian ached a single eyebrow at the mention of the armor piercing rounds. Such a weapon could be of great use to them in their current situation; especially since the research that Kyrian was able to conduct on this place suggested that the mountains might be even more dangerous than the plains.
After she gave the gun to Alex, she motioned for Kyrian to re-join her as she continued walking. He accepted the request and stepped forward to her side once more, listening as she spoke to him. "You said you can use metal right? Like brass? I think that might come in handy. I don't see collecting spent brass out here for reuse, so.. Not sure what you can do with it, but it's an option. Also, anything you happen to know about this place's plant life? We're going to need wood for a fire, even if you can create apples on the fly. I can see fairly well in the dark but I don't know about her. My flashlights won't last forever. Plus unless standard rules on animal behavior are different here-- We'll want something to keep them at bay when the sun goes down."
The elemental spoke in return to her little chat with him, “Well, collecting the spent brass might be a good idea. I could fashion it into blades, or protective wear, for the group. Or I could simply use them as my own little weapons. Anyway, regarding the plant life around here, I’m sure your sights might be better than mine, but I’m pretty sure I see a small cluster of trees a good ways ahead of us, and a little to the left. And I’ve noticed grass around the place. Though, I would’ve thought you to be able to see that with the moonlight and whatnot…” She then mentioned her flashlights’ battery life, and the nature of creature behavior in this realm. Kyrian frowned at this idea, “Well, if you can see pretty well in the dark, Alex is going to be the only one with need for the flashlights… And, regarding the creatures around here, I think we would want to keep our fires small. These mountains are littered with caves, and not too much vegetation, especially not much that could be used for shelter. So I’m pretty sure most of them are cave creatures used to seeing without the need of much light, or not seeing at all… A fire might just strike up their curiosity, and the brightness of the flashlights would probably work better for blinding them or keeping them away…”
Finished with what he had to say, he silently looked around at their surroundings, occasionally noticing movement out of the corners of his eyes, but not seeing anything when he turned his head to look. Katrina soon spoke out, suggesting that they walk for a while to cover some ground before they took a rest and set up watch for what would remain of the night. Then they would make a small breakfast and continue on their journey, with another break around mid-day. Kyrian nodded at her suggestion for him to take second watch before looking back to see the reactions of the other two. He noticed Ghost rolling his eyes at Katrina’s suggestion and sighed internally, thinking to himself, ‘Secretive, defiant, and with a childish reaction to other’s taking a lead; what a great addition.’ The male then looked as though he were deep in thought, and Kyrian believed he saw of hint of malicious intent in the thoughtful face he wore. Then, the male’s now irritated thoughtful look rested upon Kyrian and soured even more. The elemental shrugged slightly and returned his gaze ahead of them, adding on to his previous thoughts, ‘Almost forgot that he seems to hate me for some reason. Perfect.’
Alex laughed out of nowhere and Kyrian threw a look over his shoulder at her before she spoke up, saying that she had always wanted to visit other worlds, and that she should be careful about what she says. Maybe it was meant as a way to ease the tension for the group, but her random laughter and talking could be dangerous. Kyrian turned his head and placed the index finger of his right hand against his lips. He had no problem with the female’s want to talk, and be friendly, but too much noise could draw the attention of unwanted guests, especially with mountain acoustics and the caves scattered about the place.

The medic continued along her path for as long as the rest of the group followed, and even if they stopped she would continue on a short distance until she noticed they did not intend to continue following. She wasn't surprised that her fellow medic showed no confusion when the handgun was offered, and because of that, offered no further explanation to the ammunition the sidearm carried. In truth, it was just the standard ammunition for armed forces carrying the otherwise unassuming small caliber firearm. While walking back to the front, Katrina decided she would wait until later to give the woman her spare magazines for the weapon. She honestly hoped that Alex wouldn't spend all twenty rounds before they got to a place to set up camp after all. Otherwise there was little hope of getting to where they were going with what they had.
As he said nothing at the time, Katrina didn't catch the arched brow, though there was little the medic could have probably offered to explain if she had, or at least she would have felt as much had she noticed it. Kyrian's reply to her came when she finished speaking, and it was Katrina's turn to loft her brows up at the other person. He suggested using the spent brass as armor and pointed out the various clusters of trees and grass. This brought a soft little giggle out of the medic as she waited for him to finish speaking. She pressed her lips together in what was clearly an attempt to prevent herself from outright grinning as well. After he had finished she gave another small laugh and a few quick bobs of her head.
"That is why I asked after all. I wasn't sure if they were like normal creatures, though at this point I'm just going to suspend my belief of reality. I just didn't know if they would be scared by fire or not. If that's the case, then I suggest we reserve our fires for day light, when they won't be nearly as visible. And yes, the idea was to reserve the flashlights for those who can't see as well as I can. I've been told I have exceptional night vision by some people. And yes, thank you for pointing out the trees and the grass. I wouldn't have seen them otherwise." The woman stopped talking long enough to chuckle, her last statement having carried a touch of teasing sarcasm. "I was inquiring more to what you know about the plant life. I didn't know if you knew any of the properties or anything. I wouldn't want to burn something that might have an effect like Marijuana, and I would rather go cold than burn Poison Oak. Obviously I would know these otherwise but again, suspension of reality-- I'm not assuming anything is normal here anymore."
Katrina let silence fall between them for a moment as she gave him a chance to digest what she'd said previously, but she picked up where she left off before he could likely reply. "I also didn't think of using the casings as armor. I mean is that even viable? Between it's shape and all, it doesn't seem like it would lend to being used as armor. I also don't know if there would be enough of it there to provide good protection for even one of our torsos-- But I'm no expert."
More walking and thinking ensued after Katrina finished speaking. Now she would await a time when Kyrian would grace her with a reply. With any hope, the reply would come within a reasonable time, and Katrina would not be left waiting for weeks or months for such a reply (Such would be quite ridiculous after all). She didn't however consider Kyrian to be the type to make her wait-- That long at any rate. Not that Katrina was thinking this, mind you. It would have been extremely silly of her to be considering the possibility that Kyrian would intend to hold out for any length of time on his reply. She was much to busy thinking about other, more important things (Not guys) than how long it took him to reply anyway. Her mind at this point was more focused on how far they've traveled and how far they had to go. In her head she was using her basic training to at least give herself a rough estimate of what they were looking at. Which is to say they were looking at several days worth of travel. Katrina wondered if being in a land of crazy animals was any better than being in a combat zone full of people shooting at you. The answer was hovering over probably not.
A sudden noise took her complete attention and cast those thoughts into the southern most portion of her mind. Small rocks clattering against other rocks came from off to their left. In response the medic whirled to face this sound rifle already trained forward. Presently her eyes fell upon a large rock outcropping and there was nothing visual to suggest that some form of creature had caused the noise, but Katrina had a sneaking suspicion that the group was no longer alone.

Ghost payed attention to everyone's speech, trying to tell what type of people he would be working with. Despite his thoughts of not wanting to be the one to die first, he was going to surely die if he did not work with them to reach their goal. He thought carefully about how he would favor them and make them seem as though he is a good addition to the team, and also a nice team player. He listened to all their words and finally came up with his own plan of action into getting favors from them.
Ghost first began stepping on his tip toes, moving faster than anyone before walking next to Kyrian. He moved with a steadied pace, making sure he did not bump into anyone rudely. When he was next to Kyrian he would walk slowly once again, matching every ones pace. He would not look at the homeless man because he made it his duty to watch everyone's back. "Excuse me Magnetic man." He said trying to make a joke. He felt it stupid but he didn't show it. Instead his words were robotic and unemotional. He gave nothing to Kyrian that showed personality. He mostly kept a serious look on his face as well. His look meant that he was always thinking and never trying to seem un-serious. This was mostly because he didn't need to pretend to not like Kyrian. The man was smart enough to realize that Ghost had no friendly attraction to him what so ever. "I apologize for over hearing your conversation with the soldier, but if it is metals that you need."
He dug into his coat and took out five shurikens. They where blades in the shape of a star with four sharp pointy ends gathering at a circle. There was a hole in the middle for people to grab easily and not worry about the sharp ends. The whole star contained metal. From the tip to the hole. "Sorry if you can't make any armor with this. But this is all I can give you. It is strong enough for you to use, but easy enough for you to bend. Although I would like them back in close to perfect condition if you don't mind. With the exception of blood." Whether the man would take it or not was his choice, though Ghost didn't care. These stars where useless to him, despite their cost, and he could get more any day, so he wouldn't mind if someone else used them. If the man excepted the offer then Ghost would give it to him, but if he refused then Ghost would just place the stars back into the coat then say one more thing. "I also apologize for this but may you repeat your name, I am actually very horrible with learning them and need to hear them just one more time so that I may remember."
He would listen to the mans words, if he had any words, and then move on to his next associate for this adventure. Alex. He stopped so that Alex would catch up to him (I am assuming that Alex is behind Kyrian) then he would back step while walking side by side with her. "Excuse me Medic.... I am a little hungry and need a small meal. May I have a bite of that sandwich you mentioned before?" His words where soft and warming like the first time he told them his name. His eyes would be a little less serious showing that he was feeling a little embarrassed for needing food. He would give her eye contact and nods of understanding to every word she gave him. If she decided to give him the sandwich, what ever it was, he would take two large bits, or small if it was a tiny sandwich, then give it back to her. This would show that he was paying attention to the soldiers words and was willing to cooperate, even though he found it a little bit stupid that he would be starving for now. Maybe he would cook what ever animal he met in this world for a nice delicious meal.
"Thank you," He would then say to her, waiting for her to take the now almost gone sandwich. "I am sorry for bothering you then," would be his words if Alex said no to his plead for food. Which ever course would be taken, Ghost would still continue to speak to her in hopes of developing a bond. "It appears that those two will work well together. Which leaves you and me," He said then pointed to her weapon. His words were calm and welcoming, very different than the robot words he gave Kyrian. "I need you to watch my back with that gun okay? In return I will watch yours with my blade," He then pointed to his Katana strapped to his back before sticking his fist in front of her. What he wanted was a dap. This was so she would calm down a little so she could think. By making him seem like he needed her, she would feel like she had a purpose to this group. To make her feel this even more he would say, "Also I will need for you to stay by the soldiers side if any one of us get hurt. She is the one with the med pack and both of you have med experience so you both are the most important members of the team. If anything happens to you two then we are screwed." "By the way, I don't know your name sorry... I am not that good with remembering names for the first time. May you tell me it one more time." He wouldn't leave her side without her giving him his dap or her name. Then he would stop walking and commence his series of careful back steps when he was the last of the line again.
Ghost heard the noise of the soldier stop after a while of walking and he stopped himself. He looked around in his area giving a good look at the back side. He would not turn around, just search the area he was suppose to watch. "Is there something wrong soldier?" He would say calmly pretending not to know her name.

Alex keeps behind Katrina hugging the groceries with both arms. She only wishes she had at least a cooking pot on her. She would casually listen to the I conversation as the walk continued. Alex hopes she makes it out alive but even if not, seeing a new place with new life might be worth it. She looks over to Ghost as he approaches her, a little intimidated by the fact she's the only nothing special human in the group but keeps her cool. She simply smiles and remains kind, like she always is. One the main reasons she became a medic, she rather save a life than end one. Alex can pull the trigger if need be though, Afghanistan taught her that.
Alex would offer a kind smile to Ghost and pulls out the sandwich from her satchel, well what was left. It would probably go bad the fastest of all her food, rather their food,"sure, it won't last into tomorrow anyways." she'd announce to him. Her bag of groceries was enough for almost a week. She had lots of non perishables at least. Being an often poor busy college student, most perishables went bad pretty quick.
She would smile warmly to him and bump his fist as well, feeling a bit awkward by the gesture,"sure thing, I am Alex. I also have a small first aid kit in my satchel. Granted it's all dumped in the flap pocket." She'd pat the satchel with her free hand. She wishes she got her stuff in her a plastic bag instead. While on the subject on her contents of the satchel,"I do have lots of paper and a lighter by the way... If we need a fire"
Just as she finished her statement she hears rocks falling and turns to face the noise, reaching for the pistol but not drawing it out yet. Seeing everyone's attention is fixed on the noise she turns hers in the opposit direction, scanning for a possible ambush. Her instincts kicking in, part of her hopes the creatures here weren't smart enough to work in teams and use distractions. Just in case they were at least one barrel would be closer to be trained on an hostile. She waits for the others to say something or move.

Kyrian glanced at the female as she giggled, and then noticed her lips pursed tightly together, with a gleam of laughter in her eyes. She then gave a small laugh after he was finished speaking, and a few bobs of her head, before speaking to Kyrian again, in response to what he had said.
Obviously I would know these otherwise but again, suspension of reality-- I'm not assuming anything is normal here anymore."
As the female fell silent again, Kyrian nodded his head while thinking over what she said. She spoke up again soon, however, questioning Kyrian idea of using the metal to possibly create armor for the group. She seemed to be skeptical about whether the casings would be enough to even create proper cover for one of their torsos, which brought a small smile to Kyrian’s face. However, before he got the chance to reply to all that the female had said, Ghost had caught up with them and spoke out to Kyrian.
"Excuse me Magnetic man," the other male said. The elemental looked at Ghost briefly with confusion on his face, wondering if the man had just made a joke. "I apologize for over hearing your conversation with the soldier, but if it is metals that you need," he continued, before pulling five shuriken out of his coat. "Sorry if you can't make any armor with this. But this is all I can give you. It is strong enough for you to use, but easy enough for you to bend. Although I would like them back in close to perfect condition if you don't mind. With the exception of blood," he said, back to his distant manner, before handing Kyrian the five shuriken, which the elemental placed into a pocket on the side of his black cargo pants, though the rest of the pockets were empty, except for one with a pack of chewing gum in it. "I also apologize for this but may you repeat your name, I am actually very horrible with learning them and need to hear them just one more time so that I may remember,” Ghost said lastly, before awaiting Kyrian’s response.
“Thanks for the shuriken, Ghost. I’m sure they’ll prove to be useful on our trip,” he said to the other male, with a smile on his face, “And my name is Kyrian.” Ghost then stopped and fell back to continue walking with Alex, and struck up a conversation as Kyrian returned his attention to Katrina.
“Well,” the elemental began, having a lot to say, but wanting to keep it short. “First off, fire might not be a bad thing. We might come across creatures with fur or flammable skin in these mountains, or even a fear of fire. I was just speaking possibilities. Also, skipping ahead to what you said about my creation of armor… I never said I was just planning on using the casings. I plan on picking up the bullets as well, and anything else I can get.” Kyrian paused as he noticed movement once more, off to their right, and turned his head to look in that direction. It was maybe three or five minutes before he spoke to her again, not noticing anything out of place. “Anyway, we can continue this discussion when we reach our rest point. We’ve made more than enough noise already.”
Not even a minute after he said that, there was a mildly loud noise, enough to disturb the silence that surrounded them. The source of the noise, rocks hitting one another as though falling on top of each other, was off to the group’s left, and Katrina instantly turned to face the noise, her rifle already ready to be put to use. Kyrian’s head had turned in the same direction, before he quickly reminded himself that he had seen movement on both sides of them, and shifted his attention to their right instead. He noticed nothing particularly out of the ordinary, except for one large rock that had what appeared to be completely covered in the white moss that he had seen about the landscape. As Kyrian watched the rock, he could have sworn that he saw it move slightly. He doubted any of the others in the group would have been able to see it as clearly as he did in order to give conformation; and Alex seemed to be the only one looking in the same direction. Already on edge enough, Kyrian decided that it would be a good idea to go ahead and form one of his bracelets into a bullet-like shape and send it flying at the odd rock. There was no sound of metal clashing against stone as the makeshift bullet hit its target. Rather, a large roar of pain and rage could be heard as the rock seemed to unfold into a large humanoid creature, like something straight out of a nightmare.
The beast was massive, with an extremely muscled body, as most predators seemed to have. It had pure white fur, which seemed to glow in the moonlight, and a face that seemed vaguely ape-like, though the skin was stretched thin over it. Inside of its gaping maw was a multiple of sharp teeth, ready to bite into anything it came across and rip it to shreds. It’s broad, muscular chest led to two sets of arms on either side. The higher set were long, extremely muscular arms that hung almost to the ground, and looked as though they could fling a man about, or rip him apart, with ease. The second, shorter pair of arms, as about human arm length and seemed to have no purpose next to their giant counterparts, though maybe they were used for more skillful tasks. Kyrian noticed the small stream of red that flowed out onto the beast’s left leg.
The elemental was not worried that the noise that had come from their left might be the same type of thing that had appeared on their right. No longer having any need for quiet or discretion after the monster’s roar, Kyrian took a quick glance at the few yards that now separated them from the cluster of trees that he had noticed earlier. He quickly shouted out, keeping his eyes on the beast ahead of him as part of his mind focused on creating more bullets from his bracelets. “Katrina, switch to the 1911 and you and Alex run for the trees! Alex, shoot at the beast while you run, Katrina, keep focused on the left! Ghost, I’m going to need you to watch over the women and make sure they get to safety,” he said, sending his new bullets flying at the creature. “Make sure that you stay aware of any more of these that might pop up. Get going! I’ll hold it off till y’all are in the clear!”

The soldier, as she was so commonly being referred to as, overheard the exchange between 'magnetic man' and 'ghost'. A bit more confusion filled her thoughts as he asked for them back in near perfect condition. Did he think that Kyrian could create armor from them without ruining them? Could he? Was it possible? If it was, that was a neat trick. When the man expressed that he couldn't remember Kyrian's name, she began to wonder if ghost was an appropriate nickname for him, but that thought was kept to herself. She didn't want to upset the man after all. There would be nothing to gain by pitting members of this disorganized group against each other. As far as she could tell, it would only lower their chance of survival.
The man retreated back to talk with the woman behind them. To this one he referred to as medic. Katrina found it a bit odd that he should call her medic and Katrina soldier, when they were both one and the same, but there were likely reasons. He remembered offhand things a little too much to be as forgetful as he tried to play himself off. Katrina didn't think long about it though, as Kyrian picked up where she had left off, following the interruption by the other man. Katrina nodded to each point as they were addressed, but waited until he finished to offer her reply in kind. "Then a light, small fire that we keep going through the night. Just big enough to provide a small light, cook any food we need to, and provide us with something to try to ward off the creatures that live here. Should save the flashlights." Katrina's gaze dipped off to the right at the same time his did, narrowing suspiciously before she went back to looking forward. After all, no good would come from watching their flanks if they were attacked from the front. A nod would be the only reply given to his last statement as the group continued on in the direction it had been traveling.
When drew her attention to the rocks on the left, two others turned right. She kept her finger on the trigger and gazed about, looking for any sign of activity in her field of fire. The young medic heard her heart thumping away in her chest as she prepared her for whatever hell this land could throw at them. If it was enough to scare gods (Which supposedly exist), it was certainly enough to scare her. After all, they were like all powerful and stuff, weren't they?
Turned to the far side, the rifle slinging medic remained nearly oblivious to what was happening on the far side. It wasn't until the roar came and the ground rumbled from both scream and moving hunk of mass that Katrina became aware of the threat to the far side. Tempted to turn, Katrina was stopped as another roar burst through the air in front of her. The rock cropping she had been eyeballing sprang to life. Katrina blinked once and then dashed off to her right, in the direction that the group had previously been traveling. No sooner had she done that than the massive creature slammed it's larger pair of arms into the ground where she had been. Katrina's inhumanely fast reflexes saved her from being crushed under a strange creature less than a couple hours into her first foray into an unknown world.
The redhead skidded across the ground before bringing her rifle back up. She lined her shots up with the creature that had just about laid into her when Kyrian's words stopped the medic from pulling the trigger. Those green disks vanished and reappeared in rapid succession as she quickly processed the words. She looked uncertainly over to Kyrian before letting her rifle drop. The medic quickly pulled out the old sidearm and pointed it towards the creature that had attacked her. Her thumb snapped the safety and she let off three rounds in quick succession. The firearm bucked as the high power, military grade round leaped from the muzzle of her pistol and shoved the slide back, ejecting the spent brass into the air and flinging it off to the side. The slide snapped back forward, and as soon as it settled into place the cycle started all over again. Despite recoil, Katrina was able to level it between shots before squeezing the trigger again and again. All three rounds, despite the rapid succession in which they were fired, managed to hit near the area the woman had been aiming, which was the upper chest region, but she didn't stop to survey the damage she had inflicted.
Her eyes turned between Kyrian and the others. She wanted so badly to object to that suggestion that she turn tail and run with the others. There was no way this guy could stand up against these creatures alone could he? The medic huffed and reached for her leg. She unlatched her sheathed knife from her leg and called out to Kyrian. "Kyrian! Catch!" Following the warning, the sheathed knife was thrown in his direction. Looking to the other two, Katrina began pulling away, waiting to see if they would follow, or stay behind with Kyrian. The soldier in her screamed not to leave him behind, but it also knew that if he truly knew more about these creatures, he could offer better advice about them than her, and the loss of one was better than the loss of all of them.
If the others heeded his words, she would turn about and start off at a brisk pace, aiming to put distance between them and those monstrous creatures but without tiring the group too quickly. Whether they stayed close to fight, or distanced themselves, Katrina would be able to pull out her rifle and try to assist, but either way, out of arms reach was definitely the preference.
Whatever the group decided to do, Katrina began to extend her senses, not letting any other creature catch them off guard, lest they be pinned between rocks and a hard place. Their story definitely wouldn't make a good one to tell to anyone then, if anyone were even left alive to tell their tale. It was entirely possible they would all die alone and no one would ever knew what became of them. Katrina did not intend to let that happen.

Alex and Kyrian. Now all that was left was Katrina. Once he had surely gotten her name then he would be golden for now. It was a stupid method he had thought of a long time ago. Whats the best way for someone to know that you care about them? By taking the time to get to know them starting with their name. If he had seem to put the effort into that then he would seem like a good person in their eyes. And that is what he would want to be for a while.
As said before, Marcus had his back to the group watching everyone else backside as he moved with them, stepping backwards. He was to watch behind everyone, as was his post, and he did not break that post even when others stopped, trying to remain to his duty. Though he looked behind him once to notice Kyrian starring at an odd formation in the surface of the wall of the mountain they were traveling on. Kyrian then took the bracelet he was wearing and formed it into a bullet which flew into an apparently screaming wall. Out came their first beast, a large, white, four arm, and four legged daemon animal.
From the way it seemed to hide itself, Marcus would consider calling these things intelligent. He heard another roar and noticed one of those things come from the left. 'So these things travel in pairs?' he thought preparing how he was going to kill both of them. His right hand flowed to the blade on his back, lifting it up almost out of its sheath to only place it back in. "Ghost, I’m going to need you to watch over the women and make sure they get to safety." What the heck was it with people giving him orders. First the soldier taking over and now Kyrian? His blade wished to turn on the magnetic man more than the creatures. His face did not show it but he wanted to rip that pretty boy face of his so that everyone would know that he wasn't a slave for them to command. But of course, 'Ghost' had to play nice for now. So he decided to follow behind Alex.
Seeing that the right side devil had its hands filled with angrily attacking the hero of this little adventure, all 'Ghost' had to worry about was the left side creature that Katrina impressively avoided. He did not run or tried to hurry to get to safety because he found no need to for the moment. For now he walked and moved slowly behind Alex to make sure she got to Katrina's side unharmed. It appeared that no matter where he went he always had to be the protector of someone. Never the one being protected. It sucked being all scary looking and strong, he had to do things for himself and not rely on others. Though right now he wasn't complaining.
Before moving on he noticed something on the ground. A black pebble. He found it odd considering everything around here screamed white and grey, but weirder things had happened to him today. He commenced picking it up along with pulling out one of his black shurikens. He then covered them both with his palm and allowed his magnetic powers to work by covering the pebble whole with the metal shuriken. His eyes where on everyone else who would be too focused on their attackers to do notice what he was doing. While he was doing this he would also be moving towards where the soldier and the medic where. His arms and hands doing their magic while behind Ghost's back so the ones in front of him, Katrina and Alex, would not be able to notice what he was doing while looking at the monster.
If the left side creature went for Katrina or Alex then he would throw the pebble in a motion as though he was skipping a rock. The pebble shaped shuriken would fly at increasing speed into the monsters back or front head, back if it was after Katrina and front if it was after Alex, and it would continue to move until it appeared on the other side, taking the creature out for good. The pebble would continue moving until it landed far away from the others position so that no one would inspect that it contained metal. Marcus did not want anyone to know what he could do yet. He wanted them to continue guessing.
If the monster did not attack Katrina or Alex then he would keep his hands at his back, out of Katrina and Alex view, and his pebble in his hand. Instead he would bend down before ascending high into the air, twist his body to make it look like he was doing a side flip, and landing behind where Katrina and Alex position was. His 'orders' were to remain near the soldier and the medic and protect them. He would not even think about helping the pretty boy out. The man wanted to deal with the two monsters, Ghost would let him deal with the two monsters.

Alex freezes for a minute as the fearsome beast roars, startling her for a moment. She'd let out a scream as one of them attacks Katrina, missing her but catching Alex in the shockwave, knocking her over sending her tumbling. She manages to keep hold of the groceries. As she stands up she takes a knee for a split moment, Dropping the groceries upright in front of her, allowing it to slip throu her arms. Her training and experience kicks in and she aims and lets out two shots, traditional double tap at the head and chest of her assailant and picks back up the groceries.
She makes her way back to the trees, the second beast now focused at her, not happy having the armored piercing rounds hit it's torso and head, taking a chunk of bone and flesh off. Alex doesn't notice that she has some bleeding from her arm and skull, crimson red blood dripping down the side of her face. Her adrenalin is pumping so she doesn't feel pain but she does starting to feel light-headed. Her movements slowing slightly as she makes her way to the tree line, now covered by ghost. Alex would let out another shot as she retreats, her vision blurring a little, the other shot lads in what appears to be the neck but has trouble making things out
She picks up the groceries again and stumbles into the trees. She turns one more time lining up a shot but everything turns black and she collapses. Alex wonders if this was it? Did she not even make it a day? Her vision comes back in and fades out, repeating in her head. All hearing sounds really muffled and she finally starts feeling a wet sensation on her face. Alex assumes that she mustive fell in water, not yet concluding that she's having a concussion...

Kyrian heard another roar come from behind him, but refused to take his eyes off of the beast that lay before him. He knew that the average human could cover about 16 feet in a second and a half, and that most supernatural species where even faster than that; a lesson he had learned from experience. So, he could only imagine how fast a creature of the Khyper-Diorem could move, especially one with such muscular legs. He heard a large sound from behind him, and felt the ground beneath his feet slightly, before hearing gunfire, three rapid shots. While the left wendigo seemed to be a very offensive creature, the one Kyrian was facing seemed more cautious and willing to wait for the right moment to strike. It seemed like it was more likely to be the leader of the two, though Kyrian had no clue how wendigos worked, and had only read that they had incredible physical abilities and usually travelled in packs. Most things in this realm seemed to travel in packs, from what Kyrian had learned. Apparently, even for the monsters that made the Khyper-Diorem such a dangerous place, travelling in number provided safety from the rest of the monsters that roamed about with them.
Kyrian then heard another two shots, a double-tap, as the creature behind him roared out in pain and anger. Then, as the last echoes of the scream were fading, and as he heard footsteps running off, Kyrian heard Katrina’s voice calling out to him, “Kyrian! Catch!” The elemental tore his gaze away from the wendigo before him for a second in order to see what it was that he was to catch; noticing what seemed to be a knife flying towards him. However, before he could even reach out for the weapon, he noticed a blur of white movement out of the corner of his eye. Apparently, his beast had decided that this was the perfect moment to strike towards the male with its unbelievable speed. Sixty feet, forty feet, twenty feet away and it bunched up his muscular legs slightly before leaping high into the air. The creature’s decision to slow its own progress for the added impact of an aerial strike gave Kyrian enough time to turn his head back fully towards his assaulter and look the beast straight in the eye. The wendigo, now with the hands of its larger arms clasped behind its head in midair, ready to bring them down in an arcing motion upon the puny thing before, was the only one to notice his target’s eye flash a crimson red. Of course, it was no longer paying attention to the male, since its very reality had been altered.
As Kyrian instinctively fell to his side, tucking his body and using the momentum to roll to the side of the beast’s strike zone, the wendigo had already lost interest in him. In fact, the wendigo no longer noticed that Kyrian even existed, or that any of the rest of the group was there. Kyrian sprung back to his feet as the wendigo let out a challenge-like roar, his hand now on his belt, the metal moving like a liquid to re-form itself according to its wary wearer’s will. However, the beast’s attention was no longer of the elemental. Rather, its aggression seemed to be aimed towards its own partner.
Kyrian was first able to actually look at the other monster, which had attacked from the left, as his right-sided beast charged at it in a mad rage. He noticed that the beast seemed to be bleeding all over, and was barely even standing; obviously his group-mates were able to do far more damage than he had anticipated. The beast was smaller than the one that had attacked from the left, and its fur was darker. It was completely unprepared for the betrayal of its own partner as the larger wendigo hastily covered the distance and began to tear into the feebler one in a frightening, rage-fueled frenzy. Kyrian noticed that if the smaller one wasn’t already dead, it was on the verge of it, and knew that he had to quickly be rid of the larger beast before it remembered what it had been doing before its loss of reason. A thought had occurred to the male as he left his belt alone, instead reaching his right arm out towards the crazed beast, his palm extended out to face it, fingers spread. He felt the cold steel in the beast’s body from the four makeshift bullets Kyrian had sent into it; one in the beast’s right leg, one in its left shoulder, and two in the chest. The elemental focused on forcing the metal deeper into the creature’s body, drawing all of the metal around its heart. The male then folded his fingers, shaping them into forms similar to claws, shooting spikes from the layer of steel around the beast’s heart into the all-important organ. As the beast screamed out and began clutching and clawing at its chest, Kyrian proceeded to collapse his fingers in upon themselves, folding his outstretched hand into a tightly closed fist. The metal around the wendigo’s organ responded to the elemental’s action, collapsing in upon itself and compressing the heart; however, gaps opened throughout so that the heart could be properly crushed as it burst open inside the beast’s chest cavity.
Kyrian then teleported himself to where the two beasts now lay, the smaller one literally freshly dead, and the larger one in the last throes of death at his feet. Kyrian drew the metal from each of the bodies and moved it against his pants to wipe off the blood, before fashioning all of it into jewelry for himself: more bracelets, three rings, and two sets of hoop earrings. He then knelt beside the smaller, much bloodier corpse and placed his hand upon its still warm arm, drawing the last reserves of energy from its body, though they were fading fast. He then knelt beside the larger one, its body now still, and drew from it what little energy he needed left to fully replenish himself. Standing over the bodies of the slain beasts, he scanned the surroundings, certain that such a fight, and the unnerving silence after it, would have drawn the attention of other creatures in the area. Not noticing any other enemies, or his own partners, the elemental teleported to the edge of the woods, ready to talk to the rest of the group.

Chaos erupted as she broke off from the group. Marcus turned and launched an assault on the one that had been on their left, while Kyrian focused on the one to the right. The redheaded medic winced as the distraction from her tossing the knife nearly resulted in Kyrian being caught in the side by one of the brutish creatures. Her eyes then fell on Alex who was struggling between the two creatures after being knocked from her feet. Katrina starts forward, wanting to rush in and grab Alex, but forces herself to stop after only taking a step. She tucks her pistol back into it's spot as she prepares to move in, hoping to grab Alex if she could between the chaos erupting around her.
The effort proved unneeded much to Katrina's pleasure as Alex got back to her feet and took off. One of the creatures started after her, the one Katrina shot if she had to guess, but was quickly cut off as it's own kin turned against it, unleashing a dangerous barrage of punches, clawing and ripping apart of it's entire frame. Katrina winced faintly as she watched the larger one shred one of it's own kind before suffering what appeared to be heart failure. Noting that Kyrian was making a clawing motion, she attributed it to something he had done, letting her brow lower as she considered the agony the creature would likely have been in prior to collapsing.
She didn't dwell on the thought however, as she immediately turned back to look for Alex. She had taken a few shots after retreating, but they were poorly aimed. There was also the dripping red from her head that alerted Katrina that things weren't right with her. As the redhead caught up with the other woman, she made it just in time to catch the girl as she toppled and gently ease her to the ground.
The medic then wasted no time pulling her medical bag off from her back and setting down beside her. The medic quickly scrambled for a pair of gloves and pulled them on before assessing the damage to the woman's head. She was careful not to touch the injury sight, but gently set her hand around it to try to get a good look at the damage. Next she grabbed one of her flashlights and brought it up to shine in Alex's eyes. "Rivera, can you hear me? I need you to tell me what you're feeling right now. Talk to me Rivera." After she looked at Alex's pupils, Katrina would reach for her bag, reaching for her bottle of acetaminophen. Concussions were extremely difficult, if not impossible to treat with what she had. Kat could stop the bleeding, and keep her from dying of blood loss or shock, but the brain damage and swelling were difficult to combat without ice.
When the others caught up, she'd speak just loudly enough for them to hear without gazing up at them. "It looks like we're camping here. I'm sure we've made more than enough noise to attract attention, but if we keep moving, her condition is liable to get much worse. I don't care if I have to stay up and monitor her all night. She needs rest." While holding the acetaminophen, Katrina dug into her bag to retrieve gauze. "Can anyone here do anything with water by any chance? Hopefully? Or find some? We need to cool the area off."

And down goes the first one. How the hell did his prediction come to fruition? He said Alex would be the first to go and she nearly died in the first animal altercation. Not even Marcus doing either. While everyone was showing the truth to their skills Marcus was bending over and picking up another rock. Or it would seem like he was picking up another rock as in actuality he was calling the old rock back to his hand. When his stance was upright his fist was closed tightly. His eyes moved to Kyrian, watching the mans action, while events where happening inside his fingers. When his hand opened again there was a rock and a shuriken, the rock resting on top the black shuriken. Perfect condition, just like he liked.
His body progressed to the tree where everyone else remained now. The female known as Alex was down, possibly unconscious, and being taken care of by Katrina. He thought that it was an incredible waste of medical supply taking care of someone who had the possibility of dragging them all down in the future, but said nothing to the others. He just laid on the erect tree, his knee bent so that his foot could rest as well, and his arms folded.
"It looks like we're camping here. I'm sure we've made more than enough noise to attract attention, but if we keep moving, her condition is liable to get much worse. I don't care if I have to stay up and monitor her all night. She needs rest. Can anyone here do anything with water by any chance? Hopefully? Or find some? We need to cool the area off."
'Foolish woman,' were his thoughts. His verbal expression told everyone that he found it amusing that Katrina was willing to heal the almost dead woman. He closed his eyes and made only one sound that said he was happy then darted his red pupils to Katrina. "I saw a pond further that way," his thumb pointed in a general area far from their position. "I can fly there, collect water, then come back." His one foot kicked himself off the tree while his body twisted to look at the water that shined with reflection from the light they were suppose to be heading to. "I am going to need something to hold the water. Unless you can do something for her Kyrian."

Alex can't just make heads or tails as to what is going on, she tries to keep into reality. She hears voices around her but only catching words here in there. She just now starts to feel pain in her arm and head but it's numbed. Two words catch her attention, ice and cold. She tries to speak, her words very soft,"Flap pocket, quick ice" she would begin to feel very sleepy but fights it.
Her satchel flap pocket would contain the contents of a home first aid kit. Gauze, Medical Tape, Instant Ice Pack (a pouch that has a tube inside that when broken and comes to contact with the contents inside, instantly becomes very cold), band aids of various sizes, and the other stuff found in a full size medical kit. Inside her satchel would be various school supplies, a small handheld stapler, a lighter, books, and her cellphone which suddenly goes off due to a timed alarm marking an evening class that she is otherwise doomed to miss.
The grocery bag, if searched would have a small amount of tubaware containers, new, various dried fruits, carrots, canned veggies, canned chili, sour candies, jerky, powdered tea, and powdered coffee. The only item with the immediate risk of spoiling would be the carrots. The bag surprisingly held up pretty well despite what had just happened.
Alex was in bad shape, but she should make it. The greatest danger apart from needing a few stitches in on her head, and some bandages on her arm, is falling into a coma. That would pretty much mark her death here. But she has a strong will and refuses to let that happen so quickly. She begins to understand she's suffering a conclusion and the risk it poses,"I feel quite tired" she matters to sputter out in a whisper. Some of the contents of her grocery bag much have spilled out when she dropped the bag, possibly revealing the tubaware. The gun would be held loosely in an almost opened hand, very easy to take from her if need be with only 3 shots missing, all of which hit their mark. Alex would let her eyes fall close, falling asleep.

Kyrian wondered where his group had gone into the trees. Of course, this patch was nowhere near large enough to be a forest, or even a woods; more like a handful of trees, really. As the male wandered into the pocket of foliage, he heard Katrina’s voice and followed the sound to its source.
“-All night. She needs rest,” were the first words Kyrian could make out as he came upon the group and glanced them over to see what damage the skirmish might have dealt. Ghost seemed to be perfectly fine, both physically and mentally, and Katrina appeared to be unharmed. The problem here, however, was their human partner, Alex. The female was suffering from a head wound which had created a gash in her forehead, with blood pouring out profusely. Even worse, she seemed to be putting up her best fight to stay awake, and struggling to keep her ground.
"Can anyone here do anything with water by any chance? Hopefully? Or find some? We need to cool the area off," were the next words to leave Katrina’s mouth as Kyrian stepped towards the group, and the wounded female. Marcus mentioned a ‘pond,’ which Kyrian figured to be the lake, and said that he could fly there and come back, but would need something to hold the water. He then spoke to the elemental, saying “Unless you can do something for her Kyrian." Indeed, there was something that the violet-eyed male could, and would, do to help his comrade.
Kyrian knelt before Alex and placed his left hand upon her right shoulder as she muttered that she was feeling quite tired. Kyrian then extended his right arm towards the female, the first two fingers on his right hand pressing gently against the wounded one’s temple as her eyes closed. Concentrating, Kyrian let energy flow from within his body, out to the female’s, accelerating the healing exponentially, until it was like the female had not sustained the injury at all. He then looked at the scrapes on the unconscious female’s arm before speaking to nobody in particular, “She’s going to need those scrapes disinfected, and someone should probably carry her for a little while. We need to get moving.”

Light from both moon and guiding light bathed the group from between the trees, catching Katrina's hair and making it glow a few shades darker than normal. One might have described it as the color of blood. It also painted Alex's skin a ghostly white, as if the woman needed any more help looking deathly pale. Between conscious bouts, the other medic said words that were music to Katrina's ears, causing the still operational medic to begin digging into the previously mentioned flap pocket. Those nitrile (latex free) coated fingers (thankfully still untouched by the blood slowly pouring from the bump upon Alex's head) danced and wiggled into the recesses of that pocket and pulled from it a standard everyday first aid kit. Katrina breathed out a heavy sigh of relief. In some ways the average person's first aid kit complimented her military kit. Some things simply weren't included in the kit as in most cases such situations just didn't come up. For example, your normal soldier wouldn't likely get a head injury since they wore a helmet. If they did, it was likely far more serious than an icepack would fix, so it would be pointless to try. Not to mention, an airlift was a call away. Out here, they would have to make due with what they had, which in this case was just about nothing.
The agnostic medic let out a prayer anyway, thanking whoever blessed her with this fortune. She didn't care that it wasn't directed towards anyone in particular, this struck her as beyond lucky. Those deep green eyes came back into view as she was jarred from her little prayer by the voices from the other two. For a moment she had actually forgotten that the two were actually there. She had been lost between the wounded human and herself. It was a talent that allowed her to focus on her job, even during the middle of a raging firefight. Now she was back in the present and processing the words a moment after they came out.
Marcus said something about spotting a body of water and being able to fly there, but needing a container for the water. A programmed response triggered the medic to reach for her bag and strip off the canteen she had there, holding it up in the direction of Marcus. Then something happened that she did not expect. Kyrian reached down and put his hand to Alex's head. Before her eyes the wound sealed itself and she ceased bleeding. If the canteen was not taken, Katrina would set it down behind her and wipe the woman's forehead with the gauze, cleaning away the blood covering the freshly healed skin. Her thumb ran over the spot where she had clearly seen an injury before, and a memory flashed before Katrina's eyes.
She was on earth, near the beach. She had been on vacation at the time, but still craziness managed to find her. She was approached by a strange man who claimed she had an unusual gift. To prove it, the man sliced his wrist open and told Katrina to simply imagine it healed and it would be so. At the time she hadn't given it any thought at all. In fact, had she not been busy, she'd have considered the man to be completely insane beyond all reason. Instead, she quickly got her triage kit and attended to his wound the old fashioned way, despite his objections. She applied the gauze and put pressure on it, keeping it from bleeding as she did what she could. The man would still have needed a trip to the hospital, but at least he would have survived. Now the woman was second guessing the entire situation. Could the crazy man have possibly been right? Could she have just magically repaired his injury? She didn't recall having any such ability, but here she was seeing it. It was so easy to believe a man crazy enough to cut himself would also be entirely loopy as to think injuries could be magically mended. This wasn't a video game after all, this was the real deal. There wasn't any respawning if you died from your own stupidity. Seeing it in action and believing it were difficult pills to swallow, however.
Again Kyrian's words brought her out of the momentary haze of thought. She blinked as his words played back in her mind and it took a moment for her to actually grasp their meaning. Her eyes wandered down to those scrapes on the woman's arms before turning to gaze upon Kyrian with utter disbelief. "You don't say? Thank you doctor, I would have never guessed she needed to be treated for medical care which is exactly what I have been doing. And I am NOT moving a damned concussion victim! Are you insane? Her condition could deteriorate. She'd be better off being left here. At least she'd not suffer brain damage before death. And I am not leaving her behind. As I said, I don't care if I have to stay up all night. If we carry her we're going to be slowed down enough for anything that is going to catch us here, to catch us wherever it is we stop for the night so we might as well just stop here. There's no sense risking further injury to her, and having someone else unable to fight because we're carrying her. We don't have the manpower to carry her properly in a stretcher. It's just safer to wait it out."
The medic's gaze hardened on the man. It aggravated her even more that she was arguing with the man. She'd gotten along with him fine at the start, but ever increasingly more she was finding herself either being sarcastic or outright questioning his judgement. He played a big risk with staying behind with those two creatures, and now he was stating the obvious to a trained medic and suggesting moving a patient who had just received a damn concussion? She might be without her cut, but that didn't mean the more serious damage to her brain was all fixed up and Katrina stalwartly believed in playing it safe and not taking any unnecessary risks. Traveling through the night when they should be resting anyway qualified most definitely as a risk she was not willing to take, these two be damned.
