"I had some ideas about!!" Stilia's 'daughter' blurted out. "I was doing some digging and i found a report about some local fisherman reporting a large portion of the forest being on fire. Based upon that i thought it could maybe be a dragon, hell hound, or leviathan of sorts." The girl pulled out a book titled Greek Mythology, then began flipping through pages. "However, from what I've read dragons prefer the climate further north, and it wouldn't make sense for a Leviathan to be this close to shore. So i got to thinking about the country that we were in and it made me think it could be a Chimera...." When she was on the page she needed to be, she showed it to the rest of the group. On the front of the page was a picture of a lion demon with a dragon and ram head on its shoulders. When Apollo looked closer at the picture, he noticed a serpent head on the back as its tail. He never heard of this creature before now, but it looked terrifying to him.
“No, that’s very good hun." Stilia stepped in when her daughter became embarrassed. Apollo could hear a hint of pride in her voice, but it came as quick as a train and left as quick as a jet. Stilia's attention was turned from her daughter to the strange man that no one seemed to know. “Unfortunately sir, you haven’t said a single word, and none of us seem to know you. Would you care to explain who you are, why you are here, and how you have found us?”
Apollo was very interested in who this man was as well. Stilia already pointed out the thoughts that Apollo had, but one did not come through her lips. Apollo wished it did, then he would not need to speak up as well. "Also.." Apollo stood up from where he sat and stretched his arms. "What exactly do you have under that cloak?"

A tree exploded. Not in a fireball or smoke or anything like that. Just exploded in a shower of leaves and kindling all of a sudden. Luckily it wasn't close enough to harm the group, but Jack still found it startling.
The young man shoved a handful of skittles into his mouth, chewing ponderously as he contemplated the implications of exploding trees. If trees could just explode like that, then how could the young man be expected to trust them? Why, what if someone had been hurt? That wouldn't have been very nice, now would it? Bad trees. Bad. He was tempted the shake his fist at the forest and swear vengeance for the trees having startled him like that but Jack took a deep breath and reminded himself to not judge an entire race based on the actions of a single individual. For all he knew, the rogue exploding tree had been acting alone and the other trees were just as surprised as he was.
But what if it wasn't.. What if the tree had been a part of a revolutionary cell of terror trees plotting the downfall of society as Jack knew it and the rise of a new order, an order of trees that would rule the world and all its creatures with an iron fist. The young man could imagine the horrors of such a society. Humans, those who survived anyways, would beg for scraps from the alley ways as young saplings laughed at their misfortune from the mossy windows of their luxury sedans. Millions would perish when the tensions between classes reached their boiling point and the deciduous trees decided to waged war on the haughty evergreens, aided by their treacherous conifer allies and-
"Right. Um, do trees frequently just randomly explode in these parts? Maybe we should move along.." Jack would comment nervously to the others of the group, eyeing each tree as if it could blow at any moment.

Kage watched the interactions with amusement. He had never spent time around so many people before. Especially those of different ethnic groups. Sure he had spent time around other people, however it had never really been this personal before and this close. He had usually just watched them from afar, or kept his distance from them. Now he was in the midst of them, watching them talk and interact with each other. All he had ever known was his clan, and he would never do anything like what was happening between any of these people with them. It was interesting to watch. However, despite all this, and the young female who wasn't apparently suppose to be there having an idea of what it was they where up against it all ended back up in the same place: upon himself.
He was contemplating what to tell them all, or what would be safe enough to tell them all when the male beside them stated something quite plainly. A tree had just exploded, and Kage had to agree with the man. It did not see wise to remain in any one place while trees where exploding for whatever reason. Kage looked at the man, and nodded towards him.
"I think he has a point, it would be unwise and exceptionally imprudent to remain in a place where trees are spontaneously combusting. One could fall and hit somebody, or set somebody's cloths upon fire."
He glanced around, and not being one to stand in one place very long with out a cause to do so, he began moving further up along the path they had all seemed to be traveling upon and thus yet again dodged all their questions and queries about himself and what it was he was doing there as well as what he had under his cloak. Not a bad bit manuevering, even if he had not instigated it nor initiated it himself.

"This guy has the right idea," Jack said, jerking his thumb over his shoulder at Kage before turning around and walking after the ninja guy. There was no reason to stand around talking when trees were randomly exploding around them. Sure, that first tree had been safely far away but who knows how close the next one might be. Why, someone might get a splinter! Besides, they could talk and walk at the same time. The young man might trip over his feet every so often but that was a risk he was willing to take if it put some distance between them and the exploding trees.
Jogging a bit to catch up with Kage who'd gotten a slight head start on him, Jack soon caught up and asked. "So who are you, guy? I'm son of Jack, er, Jackson. Well, I go by Jack." The young man laughed at his awkward attempt to introduce himself. Was his brain really so underdeveloped that he couldn't manage to walk and talk properly at the same time.
"Were you brought here by a letter, too? I mean, I wasn't but the others mentioned something about a letter. Maybe I would've gotten a letter, too, if I had an address." The young man wondered aloud to himself. "Not that I'm homeless," Jack quickly added. "I just tend to wander around a lot so my place of residence changes too frequently for most people to keep up with it, ya know?"
"Quite the motley crew we've assembled, don't ya think? A mother, daughter, ninja, mute, and a couple nerds." The young man frowned at the trees. He'd been spending way too much time outside lately. It was getting tiring. And with the added stress of randomly exploding trees, Jack was finding himself extra distrustful of the local forestry.

A tree exploded. This made a loud enough sound to scare anyone easily frightened. Jack was the first to speak up about the trees, then the unknown male began moving away. Apollo would be the last to leave his place, as he would be thinking about the trees. Why were they exploding would be his first question, followed by what the heck was the cause?
When Apollo rejoined the group, he overheard what Jackson was saying to the unknown man. Bayla didn't know the language, but she understood when Apollo took offense to something, and chuckled at how flustered he became. "Hey," Apollo said to Jackson. "I'm not a nerd. I'm more of a... Geek. But, most definitely not a nerd." He would give a sly smile towards Jackson to show that he wasn't heavily offended by his words, and maybe they would have a special moment out of it.
And if that special moment did happen, it wouldn't last, as another series of trees would explode. Four in total, all coming a little closer to where the group was before.
Apollo flinched at every single tree explosion, but nearly dropped to his knees as he saw what came next...
A forest fire was starting. The trees that were once erupting were now carrying furious flames to one another, lighting a once dark green forest with light red and orange. The animals reacted harshly to this, some racing through the path that the group once came. Luckily, everyone was further up the mountain to be affected by the stampede of hooves and paws, but that still did not erase the threat of the fire. There were also trees on this path, and the only way down for some who couldn't teleport was through the forest itself.
The draconian look towards his dragon with fear and confusion, but the dragon was looking towards something else. She was looking at the forest that was now probably experiencing its first wildfire, but mostly directly at one place. She then pointed to that one place, and silently told Apollo in his mind: There. The beast was last smelt there.

A tree exploded, saving the strange man from having to answer anything. Stilia did not like the timing, and wondered if it was a coincidence, or if the man had strange powers. Every day, she seemed to meet people who could do things she never thought possible, like grow in size, or control technology with their minds. She sighed, and began following the others.
She leaned in close to her daughter. “Stay near me, and if there’s danger, remember what I taught you about changing shape. There are creatures that can fly, and the air may be safer, if you can rise above the smoke if this fire spreads.”
The boys were socializing, with Apollo throwing very strange looks at Jackson. Stilia briefly wondered if he was attracted to her fellow Councilman, although such gossipy thoughts disappeared when she saw the fire.
“Even if the creature is in there, it would be suicidal to run into a forest fire. I’m going to guess none of you have control over fire or water, but even if you did, it would be very risky. We should retreat, rethink this.”

Kage blinked, watching the way things where proceeding around them. He found it strange an interesting, the way the trees where individual bursting in to flames. The way that the trees where catching seemed to indicate some sort of intelligent design because it was moving in a line towards them. He contemplated it for a moment, then looked at the group who seemed completely and totally nonplussed at the thought that they where soon going to be surrounded by burning trees that where obviously hiding something with in them. That would leave them unable to maneuver very well when surrounded by all these flames and unable get around or past them.
Tiny claws dug in to his shoulder, and he opened his mind to his little dragon companion. A picture of a fleeting shadow dashing through the forest through the flames, spewing more flames from a fanged maw filled his mind from his dragon companion. He grimaced, then reached both his hands in to his cloak and pulled out his two scorpion shaped throwing daggers. Gripping one in each hand, he looked at the others who where debating what they should do. Kage believed that they should retreated as well, and gather more knowledge about themselves. What assets they had, and what weapons they had access to.
More importantly, they needed to know what they where up against. With an image in his mind, provided to him from Sturmgeist, he could draw a slightly decent sketch for the others and they could figure out what it was they had seen. He glanced around, eyes trying to see through the flames but he was unable to and grimaced before looking at the others.

Jack did a double take. Was Apollo hitting on him? The young man was definitely detecting some weirdly googly eyes from the other young male. Weird. He'd been under the impression that Apollo and Bayla had had some weird, kinky dragon sex thing going on, not even aware that Apollo swung that way. But that would explain a couple things, he thought to himself. Jack smiled back, keeping his confused thoughts hidden from the friendly expression he wore.
"Oh yeah?" The young man punched Apollo in the shoulder playfully. "What kind of geek are you? Math? Theatre?" Truth be told, Jack didn't know very much about Apollo. But he seemed alright enough. Jack had decided not to pay Kage any more attention. The ninja was being rude to the point of being mean, something that hurt his feelings. But maybe Jack would make a new friend after all.
Anyways, things were catching fire. The initial exploding tree had only been the beginning, apparently. But Jack wasn't too worried. What could go wrong, after all? Stilia made some guesses and the young man didn't argue with her. She recommended that they retreat and rethink things. Jack wasn't a fan of that particular idea, wanting to get things over with sooner rather than later. But he also didn't care enough to state an opinion one way or another to the group.
"Sure. Whatever," Was all Jack said, shrugging, wearing a goodnatured smile.

Ata jumped at the first explosion; in all her time on earth never had she read or heard of any plant life that suddenly burst into flames. With the flames quickly spreading from tree to tree; it almost felt like she could here there dying screams being choked out in black clouds of smoke. The twisted an mutilated sound almost brought a tears to her eyes.
Atalina gazed into fire mesmerized by its destructive beauty; her stare only broken by her mothers words “Stay near me, and if there’s danger, remember what I taught you about changing shape. There are creatures that can fly, and the air may be safer, if you can rise above the smoke if this fire spreads.” she gave her mother a brief nod to show she understood. She held onto the edge of her mother's black tank top like a small child would; it helped calm her nerves , and made her wonder if Lysia felt this way when she was out exploring with Mama and Papa. The thought of her big sister facing challenges more severe than this helped strengthen her resolve to prove she was ready.
Letting go of Stilia's shirt Ata redirected her attention back towards the rest of the group who seemed to have spotted the creature among the maelstrom of flames. She couldn't completely understand the strange looks or the conversation between Apollo and Jackson; but it appeared that the rest were in agreement upon regrouping and concocting a new plan. Noticing their new friends daggers drawn Ata pulled her bow from its resting place and knocked an arrow looking to the fire for the chimera and then to her mother " Lead the way momma"

The others agreed with her, and Stilia looked around. The fire was spreading fast, she could hear the logs cracking as the heat broke them apart, the fire looked like it was licking things up with giant red tongues. Stilia immediately began moving, going away from the fire, her hand grabbing Atalina’s to make sure she stayed close and didn’t fall behind.
Her eyes glanced towards Bayla, a sudden idea forming in her mind. She wondered if the dragon would accept her request, or be too prideful. Once, the Gorgon had asked this of a dragon before, when they were all stranded in the Khyper-Diorem, surrounded by dangerous creatures. But the dragon had refused, and several people had even gone their separate ways. Stilia hadn’t seen them again, and wondered if their arrogance had lead to their deaths. She certainly hoped Bayla’s arrogance wouldn’t be so dire.
“The safest and fastest way out is by air. Atalina and I can fly, but Bayla, I know you could easily carry the others.”

Kage was moving along with the rest of the group, listening to them talking about their ideas and plans. Kage was interested in learning more about each of them, and through their interactions and ideas he was learning quite the amount of each individual present in the group. He was finding it immensely interesting to find out how each of them thought and acted, and through their thought processes and actions what they believed in and about and their personalities. So far it was all very interesting and he was ready to continue to learn more and more.
Suddenly, the female Stilia offered an extremely interesting piece of information to the puzzle that surrounded some of the people with in the group. For starts apparently her and her....daughter...could fly. That instantly made both of them supernatural beings, and not humans or draconians (such as himself). Also, Stilia mentioned that the mute female could fly as well as carry everybody who could not fly. This was interesting, because there where very very few things he could think of that could....and one of them was the same sort of creature Kage himself had hiding under his cloak at this very moment. Could the mute female really be a dragon in disguise? The possibility was not out of the question.

Jack didn't really have anything to add. He had no intention of being carried by anyone, although he wasn't willing to volunteer that particular piece of information at this particular point in time. The wilderness was catching fire around them but the young man wasn't overly worried. If he tried hard enough, he might've managed to put it out all on his own. But it didn't really seem worth the effort. Of course, if things got too dangerous and he found himself in a position where he might fall victim to the wildfire, Jack could always just teleport away, though no one else knew that.
So the young man simply stood there. He put a handful of candy in his mouth and watched the others, wondering what they would decide to do. The air, choked with smoke and likely roasting from the fires beneath it, probably wasn't too much safer than the ground. But maybe they'd manage to move more quickly that way, helping them to escape the coming flames.

"BAYLA," Apollo screamed to the top of her lungs and finally she reacted.
Her skin turned from smooth to scales. Her size began to grow, ripping away her clothes, and her nails became elongated. Her teeth went from human to beast in a matter of seconds, with wings protruding from her back. It took her little time transform into a 40 ft tall, 160 ft long dragon with a wingspan of 190 feet. Her original size in full glory for everyone to see. She didn't just tower over everyone in the vicinity, she could nearly match the entire size of the mountain.
FINE! she said to Apollo, providing a fearsome roar that shook the blazing trees nearby. I will help. But, if ANY of these BASTARDS does something I don't like, I WILL KILL THEM. Bayla extended her had to the group, which was so giant that it could crush all of them with one thrust.
Apollo moved first, stepping onto her scaly palm and feeling her skin scrub against his shoes. Ever since she learned to turn human, Apollo rarely saw this form of her. It brought back nostalgic memories of him first seeing her, and how her magnificent beauty captivated him. It was so long ago, and he was a very naive boy, not saying that he wasn't one now.
The draconian looked towards the group and said to everyone, "She's taking passengers now. I recommend that everyone get on, because the ones that fly might be... Thrown off course by the wind from her wings."
I'll happily smack them too, especially the bitch who gave you this stupid idea to let people ride ME, Bayla said inside Apollo's mind with great spite.
Apollo ignored her thoughts and continued speaking. "We'll go two at a time. If you still wanna fly, then make sure she is far away from you before we hit the air."
To those that actually joined Apollo on Bayla's fingers, the dragon would gently lift them up to her back, where there were enough spikes for everyone to hold onto.

Stilia spent a surprising amount of time as a bird. It was often how she travelled, saving her money for more important things. Of course, to fly over the ocean took too long, so she’d use a plane for that.
The fire was getting closer, and Stilia’s sensitive nose was clogged with the smell of smoke and burning. She could feel the heat of the growing fire against her skin. She was feeling very uncomfortable, especially since her adoptive daughter was actually just a giant, walking, talking plant. She was afraid of how flammable Atalina was.
“Ata, if you don’t think you can fly, get on Bayla. If you are confident you can fly with the wind and smoke, keep close to me.”
After waiting to see what Atalina did, Stilia took out her backpack and mimicked an angel. She held on to her items so that they would not get in the way of her wings, and flexed once, before taking off into the air. Her first priority was to get over the cloud of smoke. She held her breath as she plunged through the worst of it, before immerging in the clean air above. She looked down to see who else was coming.

So the female WAS a dragon, which explained her particular muteness to towards them all despite her obvious feeling of emotions and other intense feelings. Kage found it amusing, and figured that she was extremely haughty and stuck up seeing as the attitude she was giving them all clearly spoke of the fact that she did NOT want to be doing this. Yet despite all this things, there was something else going on that Kage simply just could not ignore.
That second thing was the sudden pressure squeezing his shoulder, and the tips of sharp talons pricking at his flesh. Sturmgeist was enthralled at the fact that it had just meet another dragon. Well, Sturm had not MEET her yet, but was quite eager to spring from it's concealed place of hiding and meet the dragoness. It was only an extremely stern though from Kage that kept the small dragon in place, rendering Sturmgeist quite irritable and cranky but knowing that his draconian partner was probably right. Kage would let the dragon out when it was time, and not a moment before. An element of surprise was sometimes the best weapon anybody could have, and if Kage gave away Sturmgeist to early, it could possibly render that weapon obsolete and useless.
When Bayla offered a claw, Kage moved forward and quickly climbed on to the offered taloned paw. When lifted up, he would step off on to the dragoness' back and settle himself between to large spine and prepared himself to take off. This was going to be a rather unique experience, riding upon a dragon's back. He wondered if Sturmgeist would ever get big enough like this for him to ride.
