The young man stared at Nyght, mouth open in shock. She'd never heard of dungeons and dragons!? Jack found that hard to believe. What kind of savage could possibly have never heard of one of games of all time?
"Your father sounds like a great guy," the young man said sarcastically before he returned his attention to the road, letting the matter drop, simply shaking his head in disappointment. "Never heard of dungeons and dragons," Jack muttered to himself under his breath. Unbelievable.
Jack's face turned from one flushed with embarrassment to a sort of "Ooh. That." type of expression. He was relieved to receive confirmation that he did NOT in fact have something silly on his face. Nyght mentioned something about thetrue meaning of the word gay, something the young man didn't even bother arguing about. Gay, like many words, had multiple definitions. One of which defined it as meaning homosexual.
Not too long after, Nyght was grabbing his arm and screaming for him to stop. Considering he was, at the time, using his arm to drive, Jack understandably did not appreciate this, nearly losing control of the vehicle but managing to hit the brakes. He'd begun, slightly before then, to feel a growing sense of fear and anxiety, much like he usually did when danger was near. Something massive then slammed into the side of the vehicle, it's head crashing through his window and sending the vehicle spinning slightly.
The young man's panicked face was met with snapping jaws and flashing teeth before he suddenly found himself on a beach somewhere sunny. Jack glanced around in confusion, his heart still beating rapidly, before he realized that he'd teleported himself to safety. Standing up in a hurry, Jack's eyes widened. He'd left her! The young man took up his AA12, steeled himself for conflict and teleported back, a slight ways down the road, greeted with the sight of several figures circling the vehicle. Aks, his keen eyes could make out.
"Figures," Jack muttered to himself before opening up fire, sending a storm of buckshot towards the monsters, avoiding the vehicle itself as best he could. The young man wasn't a very good shot but that was alright. He didn't intend to kill, only to distract some of them for a little while. Though killing would be nice if he happened to get lucky.
Meanwhile, Jack teleported about, never remaining in the same spot for more than a second or two so as not to allow the creatures to reach him. It was tiring but he hopefully wouldn't have to keep it up for very long.
Nyght blinked as Jack was suddenly...no where. That slime ball had bailed on her! How rude! She was struggling to get her seat belt loose when the vehicle was shoved upon it side with a rattling crash, the chains in the rear making quite the horrible ruckus. Her window was jammed against the dirt, and she could see several creatures circling around the the vehicle through the windshield before her eyes. Snapping her seat belt free finally, she stood up and began to climb out over the seats, using the seats and dashboard as foot holds to begin climbing. She stuck her head out from the shattered driver side window and looked around. What she saw did not encourage her very much.
There where about eight of the creatures circling the vehicle with a ninth standing slight back away from them watching as the others circled. Her eyes gravitated towards that one, and she had a feeling that it was the ring leader. She pulled and pushed herself up on to the top of the vehicle when there came loud bangs and she jerked her head around. Jack was back, firing some kind of firearm. The creatures scattered for a moment, and that gave Nyght a chance. She ran along the length of the vehicle and jumped off the back, falling in to the snow. Ahhh, for once the icy cold substance was useful. In this case breaking her fall. She climbed back to her feet and whirled around, grasping the back door of the vehicle and tugging on it. However the damn thing was stuck and she could not get it open. Growling in irritation, annoyed she had to waste some of her magic she stepped back and pointed her finger at the door.
"Acidus!"
She barked the spell, and a spray of yellowish corrosive acid burst forth and she sprayed the back door down with the acid. However she had to stop short when a creature came around the corner and charged her. She yelled and flung herself side ways, managing to dodge the creature's attempted charge. She dove in to the snow, then scrambled back to her feet and away as another creature charged from the opposite direction. So, this was how they wanted to play huh? She flung her hand up when suddenly the ice exploded beneath her. Had they really come this far out on the ice, she thought as she was flung upwards and away. She crashed back to the ground, wincing in pain as she felt her wrist twist trying to catch herself. Thankfully she did not need to use a weapon.
She rolled on to her back and screamed as an akhult slammed down on top of her, it's front paws catching it's weight. The creature moved forward and raised it's tail and tried to smash her flat as a pancake. She rolled away, and the tail smashed down beside her. I am not doing very well, she thought to herself. She scrambled back to her feet and was tired of this. She flung her hand out at the creature beside her and barked another spell.
"Elektrum!"
A burst of lightning flew from her hand and slammed in to the creature attacking her, and the creature screamed in pain and ran away. The creatures back off, gathering together a good distance away from them and milled around obviously looking for an opportunity to attack again. She waved at Jack urgently to come towards her.
"Come on Jack! Help me! We gotta get these damn chains out of the truck! Did you see it, the biggest of the group? It is clearly their leader, and if we can take it out the others will be easier to handle with out their alpha!"

The young man was relieved when he saw Nyght climb out of the vehicle, apparently unharmed. She held her own fairly easily, giving far worse than she got, to his relief. Protection wasn't exactly Jack's strong suit. In fact, he sucked at it. Thankfully, Nyght didn't need protecting.
Once the creatures had backed off a bit, Nyght called him over and Jack teleported to her side immediately. He quickly started helping with the chains, following her instructions, dragging some out by hand and the others using his ability.
"Worried I'd left you?" The young man grinned at her. In a way, he sort of had for a second or two. But Jack's intention had never been to abandon her. He wasn't like that. He'd just really needed to get out of the vehicle considering the Ak's jaws had been chomping empty space right where his head had been not too long ago.
"Wrap it in chains, followed up by a shock or two to calm the beast down?" Jack asked as he worked, trying to figure out her plan. He'd released his weapon, letting it float in the air, prepared to fire if any of the Ak started to get ideas. The situation could have been worse, he supposed, but things definitely were not going the way they'd planned.

Nyght grunted at Jack's joking question about her fear he had left her in this situation along by herself. She would knew he had ditched her, then simply returned and she would get her word in upon him later. Right now they had a job to do and she was not in a playful mood as she was not exceptionally happy at how close that first akhult had gotten to her. She began grabbing the chains and hauling them out as well, barely paying attention to Jack as he spoke but nodding her head.
"Ugh...yea...and try to drive the rest of them away somehow. I wanna study the creature myself a little bit to see if everything my book was saying was true. I have an idea....if we can pull it off...Look out! Here comes two of them!" She threw the second to last length of chain upon the ground from her hands, the last one still in the truck. She grabbed the edge of one of the chains and waited for one of the akhult to come around one side of the truck. While Jack handled the other one, she would swing the chain with her entire body swinging it around wildly. Her lips moved, mouth the word for her spell to help her swing the chain and control it to strike the free end across the skull of the charging akhult.
She dropped the chain and pointed her finger at the hole in the ice where the akhult had come up from earlier. As she had said, she had a plan and was hoping this would work to chase all the other akhult away while they dealt with the alpha of the pack. It was time to initiate her plan and get them through this fight, hopefully alive and in one piece. She would need to set it up right though, and then lure the rest of the akhult in to the area around the vehicle there. Pointing her finger at the hole she barked out an order.
"Aqua!" Water blasted up out of the hole, and with a wave of her hand she flung the water on to the truck that had flipped over. It filled the truck inside as she directed it through the broken window, then began to over flow all over the ground. She wanted that, she wanted as much water around upon the ground as possible. Using the water, she pressed it tighter and moved it faster causing it to begin to melt the area around them ever so slightly creating a divot in the ice that began to fill with water. "Jack....I am gonna try to create a really big explosion, to hopefully drive off the creatures. We have to draw them to this area, as well as get the leader separated from the rest and chained up."

Nyght seemed awfully grumpy. The young man didn't really see why. She hadn't been the one who'd barely dodged having his head become a bite sized Akhlut snack by teleporting with only a split second warning. No, that had been Jack. And he would never admit it but the young man had been lucky to not end up teleporting inside of something with how panicked he'd been and how little time he'd had to think of a destination. But he was as jolly as ever. Though, understanding this wasn't exactly the time for play, Jack didn't joke any further.
When the two charged, Jack was all business. He directed his shotgun to fire every so often, emptying the remainder of it's ammo towards the circling Aks to keep them back. While it did that, the young man took up an armful of chains, rearranging them into a makeshift net as best he could midair. The stocky beast was taken by surprised and tripped, it's momentum still managing to carry it a bit too close for comfort.
A bead of sweat ran down his forehead as his magical prowess clashed with the Akhlut's sheer brawn. It thrashed wildly against the chains. Jack merely gritted his teeth and held it together while he reloaded his shotgun quickly, replacing the empty drum with another that was loaded with slugs. Entangled as it was and at this range he couldn't miss. Jack nearly emptied the drum into the beast, ending it's struggles. It's head was sort of gone at that point.
Nyght informed him of her plan to blow stuff up. He simply nodded, immediately thinking of a way to rile the crowd up.
"Maybe this will do the trick." Jack ran up to the Akhlut he'd killed and began shouting taunts out at the surrounding pack, kicking and jumping on its corpse, occasionally firing another round into it. Even if the creatures couldn't understand what the young man was saying, his tone and actions were more than enough to get the message across.

Nyght blinked as Jack went absolutely ballistic upon one of the akhult that attempted to close to a distance and attack him. However she did not have the time to sit there and watch what was happening. She needed to get towards that larger akhult who was leading the pack and away from the explosion. Where as Jack was able to teleport away, she did not have that option. Grabbing a chain in each hand, she sprinted away from the giant pool of water she had created, circling around to flank the akhults who where apparently to busy watching what Jack was doing to their dead comrade. The lead akhult barked an order, and the entire pack charged towards Jack.
Nyght swerved around and came up beside the akhult who was leading the others. It turned to face her, and she used one of the chains to lash out at the creature. To her surprise, it batted the chain away with it's paw almost contemptuously, but Nyght was ready for it no matter what. She wanted to to wrap it's legs up, to bind the creature and keep it from running away while she dealt with the rest. As as the chain strike the creature's paw, she directed the metal to wrap around the creature's ankle. She flicked her hand, releasing the other end of the chain, and like a living metal snake it slithered forth under her spell and wrapped around the akhult's other front leg, binding the two tightly together. Roaring, the Alpha tried to bite at the chain, but the metal was strong then it's teeth. Running around the struggling beast, Nyght used the other chain in her hand, she snapped it forward again and this time struck it against the akhult's rear leg. Again she released the chain and it slithered forward, wrapping around both rear legs of the akhult.
Although the Alpha was roaring and thrashing around in anger Nyght knew she had the creature. She turned her back on the beast and flicked her fingers at the truck tilted upon it's side. She was not sure what had happened to Jack, but was sure he had done his part. Nyght was not the smartest person in the world, but she did do a lot of reading. You could break the hydrogen and oxygen of water apart with extreme amounts of electricity through a process called electrolysis. She whispered her spell of electricity, and called electricity to the area from the shifting, moving snow that had built up plenty of static electricity. Narrowing her eyes, she kept the electricity around in the water, grimacing. It was not hard work, but required focus and control. A single part could set off the released gases and she did not want that just yet.
She continued working the electricity and water together, grinding her teeth at what she was having to do. So focused and intent upon her work she failed to see the akhult behind her, the Alpha whom she had bound wheezing a yellowish colored liquid all over the chains binding it's legs. The metal chains where beginning to dissolve and melt away from the creature's legs, and the creature was shrugging them off quickly. Nyght was focused upon her goal, and with a final grimace of concentration she threw a large blast of lightning towards the water puddle and the invisible but deadly cloud of gas hanging over the area. The lightning started the chain reaction, igniting the hydrogen gas, which quickly consumed the oxygen gas in the area. The massive explosion rapidly expanded, and was quickly amplified by a secondary explosion caused by the gas of the upturned vehicle in the middle of the explosion.
Nyght was literally blasted off her feet by the massive explosion, flung backwards like a rag doll. Never had she tried this technique before, and had not known how devastating it was going to be. She landed sprawled in the snow, her ears ringing a little bit and her world turned topsy turvy for a moment. She was glad the snow was soft, and had cushioned her fall for the most part though her backside ached something fierce now. Slowly pushing herself up on to her elbows she looked as the remnants of the explosion. That was definitely a trick she would try again later, but next time she would try it under less dire circumstances when she could work and experiment with the idea a little more. Shoving herself up in to a sitting position she turned her head back towards the akhult she had tied up. The others where gone now, and she was not sure if she had blown them all up, scared them away or what. She quickly forgot about the other akhult however, when she noticed the one she had tied up leap to it's feet. The chains she had used where melted away, and the creature looked pretty upset at her.
Jumping to her feet, she put her hands together and threw them forward calling out her acid spell. "Acidus!" Absolutely nothing happened, and the akhult charged at her. She flung herself to one side, dodgin away at the last second. She scrambled back to her feet, and flung another hand forward screaming her spell. "ACIDUS!" Again nothing happened and Nyght could not figure it out...somehow she had lost her ability to summon and expel a blast of corrosive acid. She dropped her hand, watching at the akhult turned around and leap at her again and she dove for the ground. She glanced back and watched as the akhult did not land...the creature FLEW! What the HELL was going on?! She knew that her book had said nothing about flying! She scrambled to her feet again, and looked around wildly. What where they going to do? They had to get the akhult back down to the earth somehow, and she could try to zap it with a blast of electricity to knock the beast out. It was the best and only idea she had left to her. Get the creature back on the ground....or connect it to the ground with one of the chains from the creature Jack had killed earlier!

Jack laughed mockingly, dancing around the corpse as the pack closed in. This is insane! A voice in his head shouted. You'll get us killed you crazy bastard! Inwardly, alarms were going off in his head like a nuclear submarine taking fire. Every survival instinct he had told him to get the hell out of there. But he stayed. Stayed until he could nearly feel their jaws closing around him.
"Adios, losers!" The young man shouted, grabbing a fistful of the chains at his feet next to the dead Ak, before vanishing. The young man reappeared some distance away, relatively near to where Nyght was doing battle with the Prime. Unfortunately, it wasn't quite far enough. The force of the explosion was still enough to slam him into the ground, knocking the wind out of his lungs.
Once Jack had recovered, he quickly climbed to his feet, feeling a mounting sense of danger once more. One of the Aks had sensed a trap and been a bit more cautious. It was hardly hurt and the look in its eyes promised death. The young man grinned. One of his chains lashed out, seeking to wrap itself around the creature's leg and jerk it to the ground. Much to Jack's surprise, it leaped over the chain, dodging the trip neatly. Only a last minute teleport saved him from being torn to pieces.
Reappearing the side, Jack eyed the beast with newfound respect. Despite it's muscular, almost brutish, appearance, the Akhlut was clearly intelligent. It's face conveyed no signs of rage or savagery like the others, simply determination. This beast would kill him if he let it. So Jack charged, twirling around a chain.
If the Ak was taken by surprise, it didn't show it. It merely pounced. Expecting that, Jack teleported to the side somewhat, tossing the chain when he did. It wrapped around the creature's thick neck and the young man allowed himself to be pulled onto it's back. That quickly seemed to have been a bad idea. It bucked like hell and Jack could barely hold on, having to chain himself to the animal to avoid being thrown.
Gradually, he tightened the links around its neck until it collapsed to the ground, to exhausted, too deprived to continue. Once all the fight had left it, Jack climbed off. He prepared the finishing blow, but never made it. The Akhlut met his eyes. The look on it's face showed shame at being defeated, a willingness to die, but a spark of defiance burned in its eyes still. The creature was yet unbroken. It would never give in. Wheezing, it climbed shakily to its feet. The young man lowered his hand. He wouldn't.
Maybe he couldn't.
Jack turned towards Nyght and, seeing her locked in combat with the prime, teleported and ran over to her. Once there he lashed out with a chain, attempting to lasso one of it's legs.

Nyght was watching the creature turning in a large circle, literally flying through the air as if it was running or swimming in the air. It however seemed not very graceful yet, as if it was till learning to use this skill or power. Nyght did not care the least bit, and saw one problem instantly. She needed the creature upon the ground, or at least connected to the ground somehow to shock it. With out her ability to cast acid, she was left with no choice. As Jack appeared beside her, whirling the chain and casting it at the akhult, she closed her eyes and pressed her hands together. She was calling upon herself, her deepest parts inside needing help to take this creature down. Her lips felt like their moving upon their own, and she did not know what they where saying, but the words still came out.
She opened her eyes and gasped loudly. There where three black shadows in the air before her, swirling and resolving around her body as if they where small vortexes of darkness. What was this? What had she done? She was not entirely sure. She looked at the akhult, struggling against a chain wrapped around it's leg and turning towards Jack. If only they could fly to get up there at the creature, if only they could fly up there. The swirling vortexes suddenly swirled together, coalescing and solidifying to to pure dark shapes with gleaming purple eyes. Three shadowy birds flew around her, screeching loudly. Nyght's eyes where about to pop out of her skull now, unaware of what this new power was. She would need to learn more about it, however she was not going to deny help when they so desperately needed it at the moment. She pointed at the flying akhult, that had reared it's head back and spat a stream of corrosive yellowish fluid towards Jack. The dark creatures flew upwards, suddenly surrounding the akhult.
The dark creatures began to swoop and swirl around the akhult, diving towards the creature's head and body distracting it and wearing it down as Nyght ran towards where ever Jack was now after the akhult's attempt to blast him with acid, and hoping he still had hold of the chain in his hands. She would run up to him, grabbing the chain along side him and shot out loudly over the roaring of the creature they had lassoed and the loud screeches of the black wraith birds she had somehow summoned.
"When I say so Jack, let go of the chain! You will not want to feel this, I promise!" She began to move her lips again, chanting her electricity spell and summoning energy around her as well as from with in her. She was growing tired, and needed to end this fight quickly now. She did not know how much more of this she could take, and just like always the more spells she cast the more it drained her reserves of energy. So she was putting a lot of energy in to this blast, hoping to knock the akhult out of the air and weakened it enough that it would no longer resist. When she was ready, she yelled at Jack.
"NOW! Fulmen!" She released the chain as soon as she said the word, and the akhult who had been tugging at them would pull the chain away from her. Just hoping that Jack had let go soon enough, she send a blast of electrical energy at the chain and it would travel up along the metal chain. With the dragging upon the ground, and the creature at the other end of the chain the loop was connected and the akhult received a brutal electrical charge coursing through it's body. It screamed in pain, and fell from the sky landing in the snow.
Running towards the creature, she grabbed the end of the chain not wrapped around the creature's ankle. She moved as quickly as she could, then wrapped the chain around the akhult's muzzle and neck, then it's front legs and using her power she tightened it enough to keep the animal's trap closed. She grinned, looking down at the fallen creature staring it in the eye directly. She reached out a hand, gently caressing the akhult's head as it breathed heavily, defeated at her feet. She had to, she wanted to ride the creature. She slowly moved around the creature, caressing it softly and tenderly until she was upon one side of it. Then she used a little more power, helping the thing so it was laying upon it's stomach. From there, she pulled herself up behind it's head, settling herself in behind the dorsal fin of the creature and grasping upon it.
She then directed the chains to unwrap from the creature's ankles and legs, and they wrapped around it's torso instead. The akhult was up instantly, jumping and bucking all over the place. It thrashed wildly, trying to toss the small girl from it's back in anger. However Nyght had the chains to grip on to around the dorsal fin, using both to keep herself firmly upon the back of the already weakened creature. She could feel the lethargy in it's movements, the weariness of it's bunching and flexing muscles. She wondered who would break first, herself or the beast. She set her mouth in a grim line, determined to outlast the beast and break it. She wanted to show this creature who was boss. Despite it's massive size, despite all it's strength and intellect she wanted to prove she was better then it and better then she had ever been. She was not only proving herself to the creature, but also herself and Jack. She was not a weakling, and was NOT GOING TO LOSE.

Success! The young man had succeeded in wrapping the chain around the leg of the curiously flying Akhlut Prime, thanks to a combination of his ability to control metal and sheer awesomeness. Powerful stuff. Jack used all of his feeble muscles to anchor the beast, throwing his weight against the chain to help. Even with all that, it wouldn't have amounted to much without him using his magic to pull as well.
Next to him, Nyght chanted some mumbo jumbo and three very grumpy birds appeared out of thin air, as if formed from the very shadows themselves! Jack was suitably impressed but he didn't have very much time to dwell on it when the Ak, miserable bully that it was, spat a stream of nasty looking goo at him. He really didn't want any of that stuff on him, so he blinked over a bit, having to let go of the chain briefly to do so. The young man took it back up once that particular threat had passed.
This fight was growing tiresome. Jack could only dodge grossness for so long. So when Nyght told him it was time to let go of the chain, he happily obliged. Then there was shocks! He almost feel bad for the beastie. Oh well.
Jack scratched his head, curious as he watched Nyght climb onto the Ak's back. He couldn't say he got why she was doing it, but the young man decided to watch anyways. From a safe distance, of course.

Nyght clung to the chains wrapped around the akhult, holding on to them like reins while it jumped and thrashed. Several times it rose off the ground slightly, attempting to fly with her upon it's back. This made her tighten her grip upon her make shift reins all the tighter and cling to the beast's back. However soon the creature began moving towards the exploded vehicle. Nyght became anxious because she had a feeling she knew what it was trying to do. The hole that the water akhult had exploded out from beneath her was still there, only partially frozen over in the cold air and would allow a perfect escape for the beastie she was trying to ride. She was NOT about to let that it dive in there and freeze her to death in those frigid waters.
She looked frantically for something to block the creature's path, and a scrap piece of metal was laying nearby charred black. She reached out with her mind, and the metal slid along the ground and covered the hole in the ice, with the corners bending down to dig in to help prevent it being shoved away to easily. The akhult, seeing its path block roared and tried to run for the ocean. Nyght groaned, realizing it was not going to give up so easily. She gritted her teeth, and using the last of her energy, she shocked the creature beneath her. The akhult roared, collapsing mid run beneath her. Its powerful legs gave and it collapsed to the snow and ice beneath it. Nyght groaned, feeling every inch of her body sore and tired. However the creature was done, worn out beneath her. It breathed heavily, and she slowly slid off it's back and walked along it. She stopped at it's head and she placed her hand upon the forehead of the creature staring in to it's eyes.
She looked up as Jack approached, and grinning pointed at the worn out creature. "She's mine! I am going to call her...Aurora!"

The young man turned around and found himself face to face with an Akhlut, an oddly familiar one. It was the same beastie he'd wrestled to the ground not too long ago. Jack had stood over it's collapsed form, killing blow raised, and shown mercy. It was very unlike him, but the young man had found a sense of kinship in the Ak's all too intelligent eyes. Killing such a beast would've felt like killing a part of himself.
Jack didn't back down. His senses weren't going haywire so the young man knew he wasn't in any danger. What did it want from him?
"Hey." No response.
The Akhlut nodded it's head to him and the young man nodded back, a mutual sign of respect. Jack circled the great beast, slowly. He pulled himself up onto the Ak's back. Neither of them needed to acknowledge things further. They were partners now. Smiling, the young man climbed down. As he did so, Jack couldn't help but notice something strange near the beast's paw.
Written on the ground was Paquito. Jack instantly knew it was the Ak's name. He had no idea who'd written it there and if Paquito knew the Akhlut certainly wasn't going to be telling. The young man instantly dismissed the idea that the beast had written it there on it's own. As far as Jack knew, Akhlut were not capable or writing and they couldn't speak english, either. That would be ridiculous. Right?
He patted Paquito on the beast's great, muscled shoulder. The Ak took off at a trot, leaving. Jack knew he wouldn't go far.
Seeing Nyght had finally won out over the Prime, the young man approached, smiling. "Things were touch and go for a second there, but we managed. Congratulations, by the way. I suppose we should be heading back to civilization now. I've got work to do and I've been away for far too long."
"I see you're in good hands, er, paws," Jack said, feeling rather awkward all of a sudden. "Want me to head back with you? I don't want to leave you out here, but I've got to go eventually."
Depending on Nyght's response, the young man would choose. Either way, he'd make it back eventually. Top of his to do list was to grab a tracking device so Jack would be able to keep track of Paquito. He didn't want to lose the Ak, but the young man couldn't exactly take it with him when he teleports. A tracking device would allow him to find the Ak, even when they split up.

Nyght grinned, looking over at Jack and nodded. She was in good "paws" and she knew that. She could tell that even though weary and worn out, that this akhult and her where already bonding together. A sign of respect between the two of them for each other's strength and prowess. Both had fought each other valiantly, but the akhult had lost and knew her place now. She was not longer the 'true' Alpha. Nyght was that now. She leaned down, kissing the akhult's forehead for a moment gently then straightened back up and looked at Jack again.
"You know your always welcome to join me, Jack! Anywhere I go! Let's wait just a few minutes to let Aurora catch her breath and recuperate. She fought us so hard after all, and she deserves that. They we can head back to town so you can do whatever it is you need to do. Though....I think we may need to do something with Aurora and your friend." She giggled pointed as the other Akhult approached again. She watched as Paquito approached Aurora, and despite the Prime's tiredness she rose from her laying position and growled at Paquito showing she was still the dominate one.
"Seems Aurora still thinks she's the boss here. Come on Jack...let's head back and get some food and rest. I am STARVING after all that magic." She grinned, and slipped her hand in to Jack's hand gripping his tightly.

Jack is an average, unassuming guy. He stands bashfully, avoiding eye contact as he looks around at everything except the person he's speaking with. A closer look. however, will reveal more.
Beneath this carefully neutral appearance, Jack's body is lean and efficient. He's slow to anger and behind his bashful demeanor is an assertive individual observing his environment with an almost predatory nature.

Jack watched Nyght interact with Aurora, kissing the creature and patting it affectionately. The young man couldn't recall having seen this sort of gently affectionate side of hers before. When Nyght looked back at him, Jack glanced away, slightly embarrassed. Though it hadn't been very long, he'd felt like he'd been staring for ages.
The young man nodded his head when she mentioned Aurora needing rest, understanding. The prime had put up quite the struggle. Jack respected that. As a matter of fact, he could use a moment to breathe, too. "I'll stick around, then."
Jack turned to look when Nyght mentioned his friend, and, seeing his Ak approach, smiled bashfully. "This is Paquito," the young man explained. The Ak came to a stop a short distance from Jack, giving him a nod of deference before settling his gaze on the other two, eyeing them warily. Paquito didn't respond to Aurora's growl, but Jack figured his subsequent yawn was answer enough.
"We can't very well bring them into town with us," Jack agreed. He smiled warmly, his face flushing brightly when Nyght grabbed his hand. Normally, the young man would have pulled away from contact with another person. This time, though, he didn't. Nyght's hand was warm, pleasant. He didn't want to let go.
